Chapter 21: Chapter 21
Nana's POV
She was entirely out of my sight before I could finally get back to the lost world I had drifted into. This was so shocking to be real, and even as I tried shoving it away, it kept getting more vague for my brain to understand.
Just as Jaden had become so interested at the mention of Ava and went ahead to ask who she was, that was the exact way it had happened a few minutes ago. Ava also had that same expression and questioned me about Jaden with too much enthusiasm.
This shouldn't be what I am thinking. It can never be that they are fated in any way, because that would be a big shame to me.
"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath, puffing and huffing. I didn't even know when I kicked the wooden chair in front of me, shattering it into pieces as jealousy stirred up to its peak inside me.
"Why are you worried?" My wolf, Vena, had to chip in after seeing how flustered I was.
"You won't understand!!" I yelled back, jumping on the bed with a deep grunt.
"You are really disturbing yourself! That is a mere coincidence. Just look at that filthy Ava and tell me how Jaden will react to it. How will she even meet Prince Jaden when she is locked in here?" Vena scoffed at me, and it was like I just regained my senses after that.
"Oh, you're right. She will never meet him. I won't let him set his eyes on her. Those beautiful eyes might...."
"Can you stop being annoying? Check yourself in the mirror and tell me if that smelly slave is anywhere close to you in beauty. You are just being insecure over nothing " she laughed, and I couldn't help joining her as I stole a glance at the mirror, seeing how exquisite I appeared.
"So, you will be starting school on Monday?" My wolf asked, and I nodded, smiling sheepishly.
Just then, someone opened the door and walked in without knocking. I looked up sharply, ready to yell at whoever it was, but on seeing the person was Aurora, i grinned instead.
With a squeak of happiness, I hugged her tightly.
"Thank you for this great idea." I purred, and she only smiled abruptly.
"Tomorrow, your parents will return to plead with the Alpha to keep you here, which would work out, but I want to tell you one thing." She stated, curtly. Her face was stern with no trace of a smile.
"What is it?" I asked, curiously.
"You must hate Ava every day of your life, and make life hell for her. There is no room for pity at any point, even if she is at the point of death." Her voice came so cold and I could feel the chills at the depth of hatred in her voice.
"I never liked Ava at all..." I shrugged and she chuckled, clasping her hands behind her back as she took a few steps to and fro.
"You heard what I just said now, right? If yes, promise me to do it just that way." She rasped, peering into my eyes.
"I promise. And it isn't something difficult for me, so don't be disturbed. Ava has always been my greatest enemy. I will show her hell till she kills herself. " I seethed, and expected her to at least smile at me, but her face was still stern.
"On Monday, the Alpha will be looking forward to her making her first shift, and if she succeeds, then he will make her his daughter again," she announced, and I flinched in fear.
"Then, all we are planning will crash if she succeeds in shifting." I gasped with widened eyes.
"She won't be able to shift. The alpha will hate her more and won't stop you even if you attempt to skin her alive. I will be on the lookout to see how you make her cry all day." Aurora smirked and moved her tongue across her lips maliciously, her eyes cold as ice.
"You really hate Ava so deeply?" I inquired with furrowed brows even before I could hold it back. It was normal for everyone to hate Ava for what her birth caused, but the kind of resentment in her eyes and tone was too extreme to be ignored. There seemed to be another reason other than what her birth caused.
"This should be the last time you ask me that question, and your hatred for her should be the same as what you see in me. If you don't push her to her death, she will take Jaden from you and also take over the throne, then you will become a slave kneeling beneath her feet." Aurora warned with a strong tone and walked out before I could say any word.
What she just said rang like a bell in my head, and the realization hit me hard. All she just said was nothing but the truth.
"Ava, get ready for me." I fumed while heading to the bathroom. I need to bathe and cool off my head.
Jaden's POV
It was the fourth day since Alpha Sean mentioned the name "Ava," and ever since, it refused to leave my head. After all the struggles and fights with my inner mind, I had never stopped thinking about her.
I had never seen her, just heard her name, and I had turned into a weirdo day by day. I acted normal in front of everyone, but deep down, I knew I wasn't that Jaden I had been. Something was going wrong with me.
Maybe I shouldn't have been in the palace that day. It was all my father's fault. He forced me there and now, look at me.
A deep grunt rumbled off my throat as I recalled last night. For many hours, I lay on the bed, imagining how she could be in my head.
Nonsense!
It was morning, but I was still too weak to leave the bed because I hadn't had enough sleep last night.
Don't ask me why I didn't sleep enough.
"I think we should go and see her. I can't bear this." My wolf mumbled under his breath, forcing another grunt from my throat as I also knew I badly wanted to see her.
Just then, a knock sounded on the door, and I hissed without responding, since I could guess correctly that it was my mother coming to lecture me about love, as she does every morning, or might even be my father coming to drag me to the palace to stay with him.
"Prince, it's me, Carl. I have good news for you," his voice came in, and I snapped my fingers, unlocking the door with my secret supernatural powers. Well, it's not entirely a secret as Carl knows about it.
"What nonsense good news are you bringing?" I sneered the moment he ran in, grinning like a mad man.
"The Alpha wants you to deliver something to a pack." He announced it with a chirpy tone, giving me a crazy wink.
"What is good in that?...it is very bad news if you don't know." I rolled my eyes at him angrily. I can't believe he called this "good news" when I am too exhausted to leave this bed. It was with great effort that I didn't rush at him with a hot slap.
"We are going to the Crescent Moon pack!!" He shrieked, and I shuddered, turning sharply at him with a dropped jaw and widened
