Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Jaden's POV

Anger was all that filled my heart as I walked into the palace, puffing and huffing, my eyes bloodshot in fury that I felt like slapping these two creatures that bore me.

My parents were at it again. They just succeeded in luring me into sleeping in the same room as the daughter of an Alpha back there in their pack. a girl I know nothing about.

It was their other plan to make me fall in love, but little did they know it was all only making me fall in hatred deeper than they thought.

"We received a message that you slapped the daughter of Alpha Brian!" My father growled just when he spotted me walking in. I knew the report would reach their ears quickly, and it vexed me that I didn't kill her instead. She was just lucky not to be adamant. I swear I won't spare her life.

"You said I'd represent you at Alpha's first sons conference at the Dark River Pack. Why didn't you tell me how far the journey was?" I seethed, gritting my teeth as it was so clear what their plan was.

"I know you wouldn't go if I told you." He replied with a shrug.

"Isn't she beautiful enough for you. I heard she is also very well mannered and respectful. Why would you slap such a gentle soul?" My mother, who had been sober all this time, spoke out with a voice filled with emotions.

"Her good behavior saved her life, because if she had acted rashly, I'd kill her and see to whatever happens next! You both sent me to that far-away location for the conference, only for me to arrive late at night when it was all over. " I hissed, feeling so irked.

"We are sorry." Dad sighed, resting his head on his palm with a drawn face. He looked depressed at how hard my heart was toward every girl. Mom's was already glistening with tears as they both stared at me.

"You both had planned with the royal members of that pack to make me spend time with their daughter. Because it was already late at night, I had to sleep there, and funny enough, there was no other free room other than hers! She was all around me, anywhere I went, trying all she could to get my attention. That was so annoying!" I spat, slumping on the chair beside me, as everything from yesterday began to play back in my head.

After the Alpha introduced the young girl as Diana, I never knew their plan was to put us together. We slept on the same bed because the ground was damn cold and one would freeze on sleeping on it.

The fucking bed doesn't have a separate duvet. I could have spread it on the ground and passed the night.  I can tell you the young girl was really beautiful, but like always, I felt nothing for her and her good manners saved her.

After I warned her not to touch me all night, she respected me and maintained the space between us on the bed. I swear, my plan was to kill her if I woke up to see her cuddling me.

Call me a wicked soul, I don't care.

"Why did you then slap her? You can reject her and not lay a damned hand on her. Are you becoming a woman beater!" My mother bawled in annoyance and frustration.

"She called me her mate.... Gosh! That will be the most irritating word I ever want to hear from any woman in this world. I only slapped her because she held my hand after saying that, What the hell!"  I fumed with a silent hiss slipping from my lips while I stood up to leave.

"So you will stay single forever and lose this throne? How stupid can you be to do that!" My father, who was getting so exasperated, yelled at me, but I only let out a shrug.

"I don't need the throne if it requires me to have a lady as a fucking mate or whatever it is called. I just want to be powerful without any weaknesses and protect this kingdom. Anyone can be the king if they want."

"I don't know why I was able to bear just one child...we were happy that it was a son who would take over us, not knowing we were wrong. We bore a son who grew to be like a daughter to us because at the end of the day, the throne will be shifted to another family...so heartbreaking that our family will lose respect as the ruling lineage!" Mom sobbed, leaning her head on dad's shoulder as he patted her back in consolation.

"You see how you make your mother cry? Will I be wrong to call you a disappointment?" He huffed, but I was already heading out the door.

They can keep crying till they finally realize that I have a different path of destiny. I wasn't born to rule, but to fight. In the future, my great powers will be the hope of this pack, and the enemies won't have my mate or lover to use as a weakness to bring me down.

"My prince!!!" Someone screamed my name and I already knew who it was, but what I didn't know was why there was so much excitement in his voice, like someone who had won a billion dollars.

"Carl, what is it? Why squealing my name like that?" I scoffed, spinning to face him. He had a very bright smile on his face, and he was truly happy about something, as his voice implies.

"I found her!" He screamed at the top of his voice, and with a flash of anger, I slapped those lips as my ears clinked at the intensity of his high voice.

"Have you gone insane? Why are you shouting like a mad man? Who the hell did you find and what business do I have with her?" I asked with an angry look as he wiped the blood that was dripping out of his lips.

"I found the girl you asked me to find."

"Shhhhh." I hushed him instantly, pushing my palm over his mouth while looking around to be sure no one was in the hallway with us.

"Let's go to my room!" I whispered, dragging his hands as I hurried off.

My mind had skipped away from the secret assignment I gave him yesterday before my father sent me off for that nonsense assignment.

Out of curiosity, I had sent my messenger to check on the girl named Ava. I can't even tell why I sent him on such a stupid errand knowing how unreasonable it was.

The moment her name was mentioned during the discussion that Alpha was having with my father, I felt a strange feeling that made me want to know more about her. I'm curious about her appearance and whether she would die or survive the wolfsbane and silver torture, or whether she was a genuine demon spy.

Not like it was any of my business, but my foolish heart was curious and I don't just want to remember I really dreamt about her. I had a romantic dream with her. Isn't it so weird.

We got into my room, and I locked the door before turning to him.

"Not like I care about any girl, I just wanted to know if she died in that torture or if she turned into a demon spy. What did you find out?" I inquired with a shrug, walking over to my bed without showing any enthusiasm, even though deep inside me, I wanted him to start talking immediately.

"She is a very beautiful girl." He began with his voice and eyes emphasizing on the beautiful part

"That wasn't what I asked for, you dumbass!" I snapped, sneering at him as he was already smiling cheesily.

"She didn't die in the torture, nor did she turn into a demon spy... I didn't get to see all that because I was hiding my face, but when she was taken off to be treated in the clinic built in the Royal Packhouse, I was able to follow the two guards behind and guess what?"...

"I am not guessing anything, man. I don't even care about her anymore. It was then, and now she can go to hell! Whether she dies or not is none of my business. It was a slip of the tongue, sending you to check on a random girl who is nothing to me. You can leave with your guess!" I waved unbuttoning my shirt to take my bath.

It is clear Carl here thinks I was falling for the so-called Ava because that is the only thing that explains why he was so excited to tell me about her, thinking I'd also be glad and send for her.

Nonsense!

"I followed them from behind and caught them raping her." He spilled and a great shudder shook my body as I cringed and darted my eyes sharply at him in shock and what seemed like rage building up inside me.

"The guard raped her?! How dare them? You know their faces, right? I want to kill them with my bare hands!!" I growled, trying to control my breath as the anger was building up too fast. I felt like leaving the room and speeding over to that pack to put an end to those guards' lives.

Carl stared at me with raised brows before letting out a lopsided smile, which seemed to be a slap on my face as I quickly got back to my senses, realizing how I had just acted after denying caring for Ava.
