Chapter 93: Chapter 93

Lucius

I was furious about everything that was happening, but I was powerless to stop it. I was furious as I listened to the so-called alpha tell me all he had done to my parents. If I hadn't wanted to deviate from the plan, I would have demolished the entire house out of anger. I understood that carrying out that action would compromise the original intent of this plan. I now see why Freya warned me that I may be betrayed by anyone, and that would put me in danger. I was aware that the man's only goal would be to murder me.

I was getting so upset at everything he said to me about my parents that I thought I could lose my temper. Hatred toward the man who was accountable for everything that had occurred was visible in my eyes. I realized that it was all his fault that I had never had a wolf in the first place. I was aware that he posed a threat to everyone and that my goal in ending him was to do so immediately.

I knew that if things had gone wrong, it wouldn't have ended well, so I was relieved when Freya intervened just in time to stop me from losing my temper. I was thrilled that Freya entered the room, and I was even happier with the entire situation after seeing how Freya dealt with the council's purported leader. The fact that my parents' killer had targeted me shocked me greatly.

It makes sense now why Selene deceived me. My blood is infused with it. The dearest friend of my father betrayed him, and now I do too. I was aware that if any of this occurred again, it would not matter. I realize now how foolish it was of me to doubt Freya. Even before all of this, she had warned me not to trust anyone, and now I know why she kept our plan a secret from everyone. Since she had once been duped by Alpha Thorne, I knew she was also terrified of being duped again. She wants no more surprises from anyone.

I had a troubled expression on my face as I watched agitatedly as Freya engaged Alpha Thorne in combat. Watching as he bashed her around, I could feel the color on my cheeks becoming pale. I didn't know what to do, so I just gazed with a pounding heart. Right then, all I wanted was to figure out how to get Freya away from him. Knowing that there was nothing I could do to stop my partner from being abused by an alpha who had previously shown her kindness wounded me.

I felt my wrath building as I stared at the image in front of me as she was punched to the ground and as she lay lifeless on the floor. My eyes grew icy upon witnessing the treatment she was receiving. My eyelids were heavy, and I could feel my temper getting the better of me. My vision had become blurry, and my only desire was to murder the person who was going to murder my partner.

Just when he was about to execute my friend, something unexpected happened. My mouth opened to howl, and my eyes burned, blazing crimson. I was beginning to grow hair on my body when my hands snapped out of position, and I let out a painful groan. I couldn't take the weight of my hands, and all I could think about was killing Alpha Thorne.

I could see dark spots appearing on my eyes and my vision turning red, so I realized this had to be the lycan's change. I felt my legs snap out of place as I stood erect on the ground. I noticed that my ears were getting longer and that my veins were hurting really badly. I let out a painful scream that sounded more like a howl. My senses were all heightened at once.

I could smell Freya, and my nose was filled with her scent. I also smelled Freya's blood, and my jaw dropped in fury. My body began to tremble violently as I could feel my anger rising.

I took a tall stance, not like other wolves but rather like a Lycan. The werewolf council leader was trembling with fright when I felt my gaze pierce through his body. His face was showing fear, and I could see it in my eyes as they wavered from normal to crimson. I don't give a damn about his erratic emotional state. Right then, I just wanted to murder him.

In my male shape, I charged toward him, but the cave's roof was in the way, so I punched through it, scattering it as I went. Glancing around, I saw that Freya's body was motionless on the ground. Shock flooded my eyes, and for an instant I felt like I could see again. From this point on, I could see the cave wall itching to collapse at any moment, and it was going to descend toward Freya. I felt compelled to shield her since I knew she would suffer harm.

I pushed the wall in the other direction, and soon all I saw was the dust that covered the entire space, but even with the atmosphere, my vision remained clean.

The alpha was attempting to flee out the door when I saw him, but I quickly ran in his direction, grabbed him by the neck, and used my massive hand to hold him to the ground. Though he fights to get away from me, his power is nothing in comparison to mine.

I disentangled his head from his body, causing blood to splash onto my skin, but it didn't bother me. After shooting him, I sighed with satisfaction and moved toward Freya's nearly lifeless body on the ground without feeling guilty about killing someone.

I picked up Freya and raced in the direction of the pack.
