Chapter 28: Chapter 28

The sun has dipped below the horizon by the time they arrived in Umbris. Dominic guided her into the house she was familiar with. She wasn’t that familiar with it—she only knew two rooms, the dining hall, the living room downstairs and the kitchen. Walking into the house now was going to be different. She’d get to see everywhere in the house because it was her new home. Her only hope was to cope and actually find it comforting like her room back in Scuris.

They walked past the living room and head for the stair. She had never been up the stairs. This was the first time he was taking her there. She followed him up without questioning him. She wasn’t here as a guest after all.

They followed the long hallway into a door, revealing a spacious living room. They walked past it and he opened a door. It was a moderate room with a cozy interior.

“This is your room,” he says, looking back at her. The room had plants, with flowers blooming with calm pastels and soulful browns—to her heart and soul, it was a place that invites most serene of dreaming moments.

“Do you like it?” He asked worriedly. Her opinion mattered and he’d do anything she wanted just to make her feel comfortable. She looks at him and smiled, nodding. “I love it, everything looks comforting. I’d get used to it really quickly,” she told him as she walked past him to the glass door. “I have a balcony?” Her heart lit up with excitement and joy. She slides the glass door open, revealing the beautiful backyard of his house.

She clenched on the rails and looked out. She could see the whole pack from where she was standing. Breathing out gently, the sunset blossoms upon the cloud as sweet wild clover blooms.

“Your pack is so beautiful,” she mouths, wandering her eyes around.  She never thought of how big and beautiful his home was until now that she was standing few feet above it and having the chance to see everything. Despite the tiredness she felt, she wouldn’t mind having a tour of the pack. Her first stop would be the ice cream parlour. If she gets the chance, she’d ask for all the scoops in a cone to take it with her while she strolled around.

She was still holding the rails when he approached her and grips the rails on either side of her. His face moves close to the side of her head and she could feel his breath on her neck. She doesn’t know how it happened, but her entire body moves involuntary until his chest was flushed against her back.

“Would you like to have a tour of it? I’d take you to my private swimming pool, I’ll also show you my garden and where I hand around when I need my time alone,” he whispered sweetly in her ear. His voice was subtly sensual and smooth, a velvety whisper.

There were chills on her arms and legs and neck, and his voice was so soothing and convincing, she could feel herself nodding before she even knew what she was agreeing to.

He chuckles softly and his glee seeped into her body, causing her stomach to churn with feelings she doesn’t want to admit responding to. She tries to breathe out and compose herself but having his body against her back, his mouth right on her neck while she feels his breath on her neck—her legs were going to fail her if he doesn’t let go of her.

“I love this,” he told her and she closed her eyes shut. “Do you want me to let go?”

Alice shook her head naïvely. “I love it too.” She couldn’t say anything better. She couldn’t think of anything other than being in his arms like this. She felt warm all around, she felt safe and secured being in his huge arms.

He slides one arm around her waist as he showers her neck with kisses and she shudders with pleasure.  He turns her around and finds her lips in a tender, yearning kiss. He holds her tight against his chest, deepening the kiss into a fervent embrace. A soft moan escaped her lips when he massaged her ass his one hand as he trailed kissed down her neck.

His kisses dot up her neck, until he reaches her lips. He enraptures her in a heavy kiss until finally pulling back. She still had her eyes close even after he had stopped kissing her. He smiled, looking down at her pointed lips. “Why’d you stop?” She asked, finally opening her eyes.

He laughs… “Because if I don’t, I will not be able to control myself after this stage and I won’t listen to your pleads.” He backs up and suddenly left her there standing.

“Oh, God. What is this man doing to me?” She mused to herself as she turned to get a grip on the rails for support. Her legs were becoming liquid as she felt light headed. She couldn’t comprehend whether it was from his intense kisses or it was from what he had just said about making love to her and not paying hid to her implores.

She breathes out gently, trying to calm herself. There was a couch by the corner of the place. She collapsed there and closed her eyes. The cool breeze hitting her skin, making her hairs to stand still. She slowly opened her eyes back, settling her eyes on the sun still setting between the rails of the balcony. She instantly felt at home—like she belonged her, like she had been living here her whole life.

Dominic has already pointed it out to her that this was her home. She had barely spent an hour but he made sure she felt at home and safe. If also loved the welcome kiss he gave her—she was afraid she might get used to it and even want more than just a kiss. She’d love that, but the fears and doubts she was going through were never going to let her get to that point. Maybe with time she will. Maybe her attraction towards him and how he treats her might change her mind. But for now, she wasn’t still sure if she’d want to genuinely make this her home or not.

**

She had just opened her eyes for the first time that morning. She stretched out her arms, sitting upright. She grunts collapsing to her side as the slight headache reminded her how she didn’t get much sleep last night.

She got cold feet and instantly started missing home, cried and maybe a slight of regret. She thought of sneaking out and running home but wouldn’t want to upset Dominic. She can’t even imagine how he’d feel when he wakes up and she was nowhere to be found. He’d be devasted, she knows. But recalling the promises she made about trying to make things work between them kept her away from running last night. This was just a new place and she’d gradually adjust with time.

Hopping out of bed, she made her way to the bathroom and had a long, hot shower. She was still sore from yesterday’s event though she was exaggerating it.

She dressed herself in a Ryani floral dress with sweetheart neckline and wore her favourite perfumes—plus the perfumes she saw on the dressing mirror. it smelt like him, it has to be his collections.

She made her way out of the room as she sniffed her wrist to get another good snivel of his scent. Oh, it smells exactly like him; specially when he walks past her or when he stands so close to her. Times he grasps her waist and stare down at her, smiling was her favourite. And times he kissed her as she inhaled his cologne—does time were never going to erase from her memory. His kisses heal her, his hugs make her feel safe, his words keep her going, his look helps her to sleep at night.

She can never be able to repay this man for his kindness and care toward her.

She descends the stairs and head to the kitchen where she heard the sound of something sizzling on fire and an aroma. Her stomach growled, reminding her how hungry she was.

He was making breakfast for her. He had no shirt on but an apron and his grey sweatpants. His back was facing her and it made her go weak with desire. She breathes out slowly as she shuts her eyes close and opened them. She felt the urge to walk over to him and hug him from behind but she composed herself. She loved touching him, she even loved it better when he touches her. and as if he knew better, whenever she was around he made sure he fulfils her desires.

Dominic sensed her faint footsteps and turned around. He smiled at her and said, “You’re awake. Good morning.” He placed the omelette on the plate and pushed the it across the counter. He eyes rove over her body, taking in every inch of her. She shivers as if she was completely bare before him.

She disregards the thoughts and settled down on the stool. “You’ve made breakfast already?” She reached for the fork in the utensils before settling down.

“Cranberry or orange?” He was now standing in front of the fridge while he held the two does wide open.

“Orange juice.”

He fetched out the gallon of fresh orange juice and served it in a glass cup. “Here you go.” He dropped it beside her plate and kissed her temple.

She flushed, gripping on her fork to stabilize herself from the shock that just riotously ran through her body. Loved this new norm. She was going to get used to it so quickly. Though she’d prefer it if he kissed her on her lips.

She takes the first bite of her breakfast as he sat down on the stool across her on the counter.  She had her head low, trying to avoid his deep gaze. He knew that she was avoiding his gaze. Her expression was written all over her face. She hates that part of her when she was around him. She can’t seem to hide how she feels about him when she was around him. She wants him to know that she was trying to make things work between them but at the same time she was trying so hard to look as though she didn’t care about him and she wasn’t obsessed with the way he treats her like a princess.

“Where would you like to go first today? The ice cream parlour? The barbecue spot, or we could go to my private pool.” She looks up and the first thing she saw was the seductive way he was looking at her. It occurred to her what the last option meant.

She smiled sheepishly and ducked her head. “What are we going to do in your private pool?” She wanted to see where things would go. And she sensed he was enjoying the conversation.

“Just take a swim, relax and then maybe… we’ll pick up where we left yesterday evening.” He takes a sip of his cranberry juice and she watches him carefully as his throat rolls. She bites down on her lip as the ball of desire ramble into her stomach down to her legs.

“Are you talking about sex?” She couldn’t help but ask him. She wanted to know how far he was willing to take the conversation. And he took it as she expected him to.

“Do you want that?”

She promptly looks away, as if she was having thoughts about asked but she was just trying to avoiding the staring contest she started.

“Do want that to happen?” He asked again in a whisper. Every time he used ‘th’ words, his tongue would glide beautifully over his perfect teeth and emit an adorable bit of air.

“What if I say yes now? What would happen?”

As if he was waiting for her to ask that, he chuckled softly and dropped his fork on the plate, making a clinking sound. He leans over the table. “I would fucking strip you off your clothes and touch you all over your entire body for the rest of the day. I love you but I don’t promise to go in and out of you gently because I am fucking attracted to you. So, careful what you wish for, my love.” He softly presses his lips to hers and moved back.

She swallowed hard, trying to remember how to breathe but failed. She was already warm between her legs and all she wanted was to rip the last piece of cloth off and lick him until he forgets his manners and awaken the beast. Yes, she wants to have the beast version of him. She wants to get laid with them form of him.

His phone chimed and he checked it. She could see the irritation washing over his face but he swiftly masked it up with a smile. He walks over the counter and stood behind her. She closed her eyes shut before he even touched her.

He plants a soft, intimate kiss on the back of her neck. He runs his hands slowly down her shoulders until he reaches her wrists. “I am not trying to seduce you.” It didn’t look like he wasn’t. He was doing exactly what he claims he wasn’t doing. He encircles her wrists with one hand and lifts them above her head. His whole body leans against hers as he begins to kiss her neck and shoulders. “Would you like me seduce you?”

Her eyes were still closed as he wanders his hands over her body. Her chest was heaving up and down and all she could think of was being under him, having the severest and fieriest make out session.

His phone chimed again and he grunts softly. He helped her up, making her to face him. He wraps his arms over her shoulders, looking down at her. “There’s an emergency I have to take care of right now. But I promise to be back in an hour and take you out on a tour. Would you wait for me?” She saw the hopes in his eyes and he looked adorable waiting to hear her say yes.

She nods her head. “Don’t stay long.”

He smiled at her and nodded. “I won’t.”

He frees her from his hold and left her there standing in her pool of desire. She falls back on the stool as she tried to catch every breath Dominic had taken away from her. She squeezed her chest, wondering how she was ever even going to reject this man when he official ask her to marry him within months. She doesn’t know when would that be but every time he looks at her, it was as though he was going to get on one knee and give her a ring. She’d gladly take the ring because she sees a bright future, a happy ending with him.
