Chapter 30: Chapter 30

SARAFINA.
"Dinner, Dinner, Dinner...." Pooja sang as she changed her dress while I just sat staring at her, wondering how I am going to get myself out of the trouble my stupid leg and mouth has put me in.
"Arrgh" I groaned out loud. Pooja turned to me with a questioning gaze.
"Are you okay?" She asked. I grinned widely.
"I'm perfectly and terrifically fine" I answered, she eyed me suspiciously and sat down.
"What are you not telling me?"
"What?" I feigned ignorance. "I have no idea what you are talking about, let's go for dinner the others are long gone already"
"You are crazy if you think I will let this go with you changing the subject, spill out please"
"I'm not spilling anything Pooja, besides can't your special abilities tell you all you need to know" Her eyes snapped to me.
"Sarafina?" She was probably shocked I said something like that, even I don't know why I said that. My lips will probably kill me one day.
"Tera said we are both relieved of our duties and we are moving to a new quarter tomorrow" Her voice was cold as she said that. "On the king's orders and I think the quarter is for just the both of us, we are free indigenes now I guess" she added and packed her hair into a bun before stepping out of the room. She didn't even wait for me. What's up with her?
I sighed, was my question that provocating or is there something she isn't telling me. I got up evading myself of any thoughts especially when she just dropped a bomb of the king asking us to quit our duties and giving us free accomodation.
I don't even want to dwell on the fact that the king might know a bout Pooja and I. I won't no.. I mustn't. I slipped my legs into my flops and walked out of the quarters to the dinning hall.

DITYA.
As I stepped out of the main palace after my conversation with Queen Mila, I couldn't help but question my stay here. As far as this story is concerned, I can never have Jamal.
The gravity of what that Sarafina girl did for him was beyond what I could imagine... She was in love with, probably still in love with him because love doesn't fade in a day.
Jamal himself must have felt something close to love to her even when he was cursed, she was the only one he opened up to. And even now that he lost his memories, the sizzling attraction between the two of them cannot go unnoticed.
Is this fate? Should I leave? But I never back down. I want Jamal but I know I can't have him as long as Sarafina is still in the picture, without his memories she still has him wrapped around her finger but without his memories too there can still be hope right?
And maybe I won't ever let the final rites to be performed just so Jamal can be mine.
Scratch what Sarafina has done for him, besides she won't feel comfortable with him especially when her Mother was literally murdered by Queen Mila.
A crooked smile found its way to my lips, everything is still in my favor. All I just have to do is make sure they are always apart. So saying I made a mental note to see Maximus tomorrow, maybe he can be of help to me.

JAMAL.
"Khan can you tell me something?" I asked as I lay back on my bed, a book on my hands...with Khan standing beside me on my orders.
"Anything my Prince" he replied.
"That maiden I chased after, who was she to me"
"Huh..." His voice held secrecy. "That's a odd question, what will you have with a mere maiden" he stuttered as he spoke.
I tore my gaze from the book I was reading and focused it in him. "Are you lying to me Khan?" I asked.
"Of course not" he immediately said aloud. His tone couldn't hide the fact that he was not telling me what I needed to know. Why is what I don't know but I didn't push it.
"You are dismissed" I muttered and waited till he left before switching off the lights.
I can't seem to get my mind off her, there was something about her that makes me want to be with her again, reason why I suggested she work for me.
I am very sure she met something more to me before I lost my memories, bhow or why is what I don't understand. I sighed and closed my eyes willing myself to dreamland.
_____________
SARAFINA.
Morning came so faster than I had expected, I couldn't sleep a wink throughout the night. My mind kept traveling to different places.
From my plan of revenge, to my working for Jamal and to my moving to a new place with Pooja on the king's orders. Everything kept bothering me.
I waited till every other person had left before I finally got up from my bed, my eyes went to Pooja's bed and I saw that she was still curled up on her bed.
Is she okay? I got up and walked barefooted towards her bed. "Pooja" I called. There was no reply from her.
"Pooja are you okay?" I asked again.
"My name is Mohini not Pooja" she muttered and snuggled deeper into her bed.
"Okay Mohini, I'm sorry about yesterday I don't know why I said that I'm truly sorry" I said in sincere apology.
She stood up and slipped her legs into her flops. "I'm going to take a bath, you should take a bath too once I'm done, Terai is waiting for us at the quarters"
"But Pooja...." She didn't even listen to me only the slamming of the bathroom door heard my voice. I sighed.
..
"At least talk to me" I muttered as we got to the front of our new home. Pooja or Mohini turned to me and then she burst out laughing.
"Oh, I'm that special that it bothers you if I don't say a word to you huh?" She asked on between laughs.
Wait... "You have been pretending to be angry all these while?" I asked even though it was already plain obvious.
She threw her head back in laughter again. "You should have seen your face, you looked like a maiden whose betrothed ditched her at a ceremony, oh my that was so hilarious"
My fist tightened in mock annoyance, I can't believe she actually pretended to be angry for that long and I stupidly believed her. "You won't get away with this" I stated.
She flipped her hair dramatically, something she loved doing when mocking someone. She clicked her tongue and winked at me. "Don't get to annoyed best friend, there is more where thus came from"
Aishh.... I snatched the key Terai gave us from her hand and slipped it into the lock only to find it already opened. "Its opened already" I said to Pooja.
"What!" She pushed open the door and we both stepped inside. I momentarily forgot about the unlocked door as I marveled at the beauty if the quarters we were given, it was just like a princess room.
Of course Pooja is a princess.
"Someone is in here" came Pooja's voice behind me.
I turned. "You sure are a smart one Mohini, of all places I didn't expect to see you at Zedora"
I turned and came face to face with Ditya. "What are you doing here Ditya" Pooja gritted out.
Ditya waved her index finger. "I didn't come for you Mohini, I came for her" she pointed to me.
I gestured to myself. "Me?"
"Yes you Sarafina or should I say The Sheba cure to Jamal's curse"
I gasped in surprise. Ditya knows?.
