Chapter 13: Chapter 13

THIRTEEN- FAMILY NIGHT AND TOUGH DECISIONS

It was a Friday night, and William and his fiancée had decided to spend it with a couple of movies and some serious cuddling. William had come around eventually and he had realised that he was being unfair to Reggie. All the woman had ever done was love him and give him her all and the very least he could do was show her some appreciation and stop being an ungrateful ass.

The living room was beautiful and very plush. It had all the evidence of a bachelor pad but luckily for William, Reggie wasn't really bothered by that. On the outside, she seemed like the perfect girly girl, hell she was a supermodel, but indoors, she could switch it up, forget about the glam, and really kick ass during video games and Will loved that. She was just like Louisa in that aspect.

William realised where his brain had strayed to and did everything possible to halt its progress. He had promised her he'd stay away but that was going to be hard to do if he couldn't get her out of his mind.

"Okay what's it going to be? Terminator, dark fate or The Nun." Reggie asked as she made herself comfortable on the love couch.

William snapped out of his thoughts and raised his eyebrows in amusement. "You can't handle horror Reggie. I know you."

Reggie laughed. "I have my knight here with me, I'm pretty sure I'd be safe."

William had a goofy smile on his face. "Alright. The Nun it is."

"Oh no mum." Isabel groaned.

"You really suck at charades, and I don't know why I make you convince me to join your team all the time."

The family had decided to chill at home with a bunch of family games, and Melissa and Naa Larley had come over to spend the night as well. They were all laughing at how terrible Louisa was at acting things out. No one could guess what she was trying to do, and it made her daughter frustrated.

"You just wait Isa, let's get to monopoly, then we'd show them how we roll." She whispered soothingly but Naa Larley had heard her.

"Oh no girl." She shouted out in teasing laughter.

"Have you seen Isa's friend? No offence babe-" She looked apologetically in Isabel's direction.

"-But she's very good. I can foresee our victory in all the games today." She ended gleefully with a fist bump to her partner's shoulder. Her husband Mike had a two day conference to attend in Takoradi, and he felt much better knowing his lovely pregnant wife was with her best friend rather than alone at home so he had personally dropped her off before driving to the airport to catch his flight.

Naa Larley was showing now. It wasn't very noticeable, given that she was about three months but she seemed to be glowing and her fair skin looked even more radiant.

Pregnancy really suited her and Louisa couldn't be any happier for her best friend.

The group were playing their game in the living room. Pillows and blankets were spread all over the floor and everyone was in their pajamas so extra comfort was assured.

Mrs. Mensah however was in the den. Her favorite telenovela was showing and she never missed it for anything in the world so everyone let her be, she would have been the odd one out anyway with no partner.

Louisa seemed genuinely happy, after all, she had finally gotten over the whole William fiasco, especially after she hadn't heard from him in a whole week. She realised he had decided to keep his end of the bargain and stay away from her, so though it had hurt like hell, she took it in good stride. The most important thing was he was out of their lives so she wouldn't have to worry about him finding out about Isabel and for that she was glad.

The game of charades ended badly for Louisa and her daughter, but that was the only time they lost, and so miserably too. They beat Mel and Naa Larley at every other game even though they closely followed behind.

"See! Nothing gets the game done like mother-daughter telepathy, Auntie Naa." Isabel boasted.

Melissa laughed, "Well, if the consolation is that we beat you black and blue at charades, then we'll take it anyway because you only beat us at the other games by a point or two."

Isabel gave her friend a dirty look before they all burst out in loud laughter.

"Mum, can we go upstairs now? I want to show Mel something before we go to bed." Isabel said.

"Of course of course. You guys go right ahead." Louisa answered.

The two best friends leaned into each other as they watched the two teens take leave of them.

The two sighed simultaneously and both burst out in tiny giggles.

"It's funny how we still get to do this even though we are almost old ladies now." Louisa said in a melancholic tone. She was thinking of all the best friends out there who had slowly drifted apart from each other and she couldn't help but feel sad. She didn't know what she'd do without her friend and she told her so.

"Who is the old lady? You, but definitely not me." Naa Larley teased. She hated sentimental talks already, as they tended to make her cry plus the feeling had intensified with the baby on the way and nothing was going to ruin the happiness of the night. Her plan seemed to have worked, for her friend's sad face had morphed into a look that said oh bitch, it's on.

After talking for about an hour or two, they decided to turn in for the night. The children were in their room and Mrs. Mensah had long gone to hers.

"We have to figure out where we'd be taking the girls tomorrow Lou." Naa Larley said as they folded blankets and picked pillows off the floor.

Louisa yawned. "Let's do this tomorrow Naa. I'm super tired."

William looked over at his fiancé. She had fallen asleep somewhere between their second movie. He found it funny really, how it always seemed to happen. She'd be the most enthusiastic among them at the start but he always finished the movies without her in the end and he found it quite cute.

He turned off the T.V and scooped her in his arms and smiled when she muttered something incoherent and drifted back into a soundless sleep. Just like Louisa. He thought fleetingly and felt ashamed.

He carried her up the stairs and gently tucked her into bed, then went to the bathroom to wash his face and clear his head and then climbed into bed next to his sleeping fiancée.

He lay on his back wide awake with his arms over his head.

He just didn't get it. Reggie looked nothing like Louisa yet every single damn thing she did had him thinking about the first woman he had ever really loved, the one he had to leave before he could show her how much she really meant to him.

His mind strayed to the first time she had given herself to him. He had been the happiest man on the planet. Nothing in this world had prepared him for his encounter with Louisa, for she had this innocent look about her that made you think about angels, and he had been ready to take all the time in the world with her.

He had been shocked by her wantonness and really turned on by it. You could tell she hadn't had sex...

No made love before...

That was what he and Louisa did. They made love, and yet she was so eager to learn, curious to see what made him tick, anxious to feel nothing but exhilarating pleasure, and he had delivered. Not to be cocky or anything, but he had given it to her just right, he had her calling out his name all through the night.

He thought about her moans as he teased her nipples with his mouth, he thought about her little cries of pleasure as his hand finally found her bundle of nerves, how she had cried out when he had entered her, then later how she had urged him on, pleading with him to go faster and finally, the look on her face when he had made her come over and over and over again.

William sighed uncomfortably.

He was hard.

Very hard.

The hardest he had been in a long time, and it shocked him to know that all it had taken was his reminiscing of the past. He wondered what would happen then if he were to have a second chance with her. Look what she had done to his body, his heart and his mind even as a virgin. He was sure with her experience now, she could just tip him over the edge and send him spiraling into the abyss of hell...or maybe paradise- he couldn't really tell, with a single touch and he'd happily die a happy man...an accomplished one too.

He stiffly got out of bed. Gosh he needed a shower.

A very cold one.

He came out of the shower about fifteen minutes later and looked at Reggie. She was still asleep, being a heavy sleeper and all. He felt guilty.

Very guilty.

He went to bed that night with his mind made up. He couldn't keep doing this to his fiancée. Cheating started in the mind...if he couldn't stop his thoughts and his feelings, then maybe he shouldn't really be settling down then.

He had decided.

He was going to end things with Reggie tomorrow.
