Chapter 51:

Grace’s P.O.V

“Good morning, my love,” Daniel kissed the curve of my neck and I sunk into him in welcome.

“Morning,” I whispered hoarsely, sprawled lazily in bed next to him, wildly sated and naked. I did not want to get out of bed.

Daniel smiled down at me, his electric blue eyes soft on mine and his dark hair sprawled across his forehead. I twisted my arms through his hair and brought down his face to mine for a good morning kiss that blew my mind and nearly stopped my heart.

“So, how are you liking Hawaii so far?” He asked once we parted.

“It’s beautiful.” I told him, stretching out like a cat before I nuzzled into to chest for a morning cuddle. “I’m glad we came here and I’m glad our friends are here with us. Thank you.”

“Anything for you love,” Daniel wrapped his arms around me before settling his hand on top of my flat stomach. “How are you feeling?”

“Absolutely fine.” I placed my hand on top of his. “I’ve heard that the first trimester is usually smooth, I should be looking forward to the second.”

“I hope you don’t get morning sickness, I’ve heard that not all women get them.” He pressed a feather light kiss to my forehead. “I hate to see you in pain.”

“I’ll be fine, Daniel. I’m not the only woman who got pregnant!” I scolded him. “Besides, there’s still time.”

“When do think we should tell the others?” Daniel asked, moving his hands lightly on top of my stomach.

“It’s only the start of the second month.” I told him. “We should wait till the third, just in case.”

“Grace, everything is going to be fine.” Daniel’s voice was firm. “And we should be telling your parents soon, they’d be ecstatic. Your mother might offer valuable advice.”

“She’d also be stunned that I got pregnant before marriage.” I nuzzled deeper into his chest, loving the cinnamon spice scent of him with that fresh burst of lime. He always smelled so good.

“But we were planning on getting married anyway.” Daniel told me, sounding confused.

“Good luck explaining that to her.” I shook my head. “I don’t want to get up. I just want to stay in bed with you!” I whined.

“It’s the jet lag. It’ll pass.” Daniel gave a light tug on my hair and I turned my face up to receive his kiss. “Come on now, we have family and friends here with us. I’m afraid if we don’t go out within the next half hour, Kendra just might break our door down.”

I groaned. “Ugh! I hate her!”

“No you don’t. You guys are inseparable.” Daniel told me as he got off the bed. “Ten minutes while I take a quick shower. And then I’ll let Kendra lose on you.” He warned.

“Fine, daddy.” I rolled my eyes and settled back in bed for a quick nap.

“Would-be daddy!” Daniel reminded me on his way to the bathroom, making me smile.

Yes, would-be daddy and would-be mommy. Being a mother is such a lovely gift.
