Chapter 519: Chapter 519: Past Demon Race Sovereign vs. Present Demon Race Sovereign (2)
"Defeated?" Demon Emperor Zerathos muttered softly.
He had already lost, yet he refused to accept it.
Gritting his teeth, he locked his gaze on Malverna and roared, "No... I haven’t lost yet! I still have a chance!"
Boom!
Demonic energy erupted from his body. This time, it was different—the surge was far greater and far more ferocious, forming a terrifying storm.
The storm spun at tremendous speed, shredding everything around it. Anyone within a two-hundred-meter radius would be torn apart.
Buzz!
Demonic energy rose from Malverna’s body, shielding her from the violent pressure of the Demon Emperor Zerathos’ power.
"I haven’t lost... I haven’t lost!"
Thump!
The heavy sound rang out clearly. At the same time, the Demon Emperor’s figure began to change.
His skin turned pitch black as scales spread across his body.
Two horns jutted from his head, his eyes turning blood red as his body grew a full meter taller. Black wings with razor-sharp tips unfurled from his back.
His aura surged dozens of times stronger than before.
"I haven’t... lost yet!"
He clenched his fist and drove it toward Malverna’s face.
Seeing the sudden attack, Malverna quickly crossed her arms in front of her.
Boom!
Her body was blasted backward at the speed of sound.
Before she could regain control, Demon Emperor Zerathos appeared behind her.
Twisting his body, he slammed a kick into her back.
Bang!
Malverna was sent flying once more. Again and again, she was beaten back without pause.
"Die!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos teleported above her and drove his fist into her stomach.
Bang!
The blow sent Malverna crashing downward, shattering the ground beneath her and carving a crack two meters deep.
Demon Emperor Zerathos did not stop there. He raised both hands above his head.
Buzz!
A sphere of black energy formed above him. With a grin, he hurled it at Malverna.
Whoosh—Boom!
The sphere struck her position head-on. The crack in the ground spread outward, stretching tens of meters in every direction.
White smoke billowed up, completely obscuring the view.
’Is she... defeated?’ Demon Emperor Zerathos wondered silently, his eyes narrowing.
Seconds passed. Then, slowly, the smoke began to clear.
Malverna stood there—without a single scratch.
"What!?" Demon Emperor Zerathos’ eyes widened in horror. "How is it possible that you—"
Before he could finish, Malverna’s body erupted with demonic energy equal to his own.
"Ignis, I admit you’ve grown stronger than before," Malverna said with a grin. "But that’s all. Not only you—I haven’t even used a quarter of my power yet."
Whoosh!
Her figure shot forward like a bullet.
Panicking, he crossed his arms in front of him.
Bang!
The impact sent the Demon Emperor flying. Unlike before, however, he regained his balance within seconds.
Without hesitation, he flapped his wings and charged straight back at Malverna.
"Master, I will kill you once again—and for good!"
His fist, wrapped in demonic energy, slammed toward her.
Not to be outdone, Malverna raised her own fist and met his attack head-on.
Boom!
Their fists collided, unleashing a massive explosion.
The two locked eyes, hostility burning between them, before vanishing from sight—only to reappear at the same point in the sky.
Boom!
Boom!
They exchanged blows with terrifying force. At first glance, it looked evenly matched, but in truth, Demon Emperor Zerathos was at a clear disadvantage.
"Die!"
Zerathos twisted his body and drove a kick into the right side of Malverna’s face.
Malverna raised her right hand and blocked it.
Her left hand clenched into a fist and slammed into Zerathos’ stomach.
Bang!
The strike was stopped by Zerathos’ wings, yet the impact still sent him flying dozens of meters away.
Without giving him any time to recover, Malverna shot after him at lightning speed. The two clashed again, locked in a brutal exchange.
Their figures vanished and reappeared, each collision shaking both earth and sky.
From afar, Nolan watched the battle with admiration.
’A battle between the Demon Sovereign of the past and the Sovereign of the present, huh? If this were a novel, it’d be incredibly interesting,’ he muttered, rubbing his chin.
By coincidence, he had been running out of ideas for his new book, and the scene before him felt like the perfect inspiration.
"But I have to admit, Zerathos is truly strong. He even forced Malverna to use most of her power," he said honestly.
Annoying as it was to admit, Zerathos fully deserved his reputation as the Demon Emperor.
It was no surprise that he had nearly conquered the entire continent in the past.
If not for the existence of the Seven Singularities in this era, it would have been entirely possible that he would have conquered it again.
"Die!"
Demon Emperor Zerathos swung Zephir in his hand.
A demonic slash tens of meters high tore through the air, racing straight toward Malverna.
Unafraid, Malverna raised her left hand and shouted, "Ice wall!"
Whoosh!
A fifty-meter-high wall of ice formed out of thin air, blocking Demon Emperor Zerathos’ attack.
"That’s not my only attack!"
Slash after slash followed in rapid succession, crashing into the ice wall.
Their terrifying power steadily eroded the ice wall, the damage visible to the naked eye.
When the final slash landed, the ice wall shattered into countless fragments.
Demon Emperor Zerathos vanished and reappeared right above Malverna. Spinning his body vertically, he brought his sword down toward her neck.
"Master, die! You should never have appeared in this era!"
Just as he was certain the strike would land, something unexpected happened.
The space around Demon Emperor Zerathos froze for a split second—just long enough for Malverna to evade his attack.
"What...?" His eyes widened in fear. "You—"
Before he could finish, blood spikes erupted behind Malverna’s back. They shot forward and pierced straight through Demon Emperor Zerathos’ body.
The searing pain forced him to vomit blood. Still, Malverna gave him no time to recover.
The spikes drove his body into the ground, pinning him firmly in place.
Then Malverna raised her right hand.
A magic circle appeared, and from within it, an ice meteor shot out and slammed into Demon Emperor Zerathos.
As his end drew near, he could only mutter, ’Hah... am I... defeated?’
Boom!
The ground within a two-kilometer radius collapsed, forming a crater five meters deep.
Snow scattered in all directions before gathering into a swirling mist.
Witnessing the scene, Nolan’s eyes widened, his heart nearly stopping.
"What Malverna just did... could that be the power of space...?"
