Chapter 355: Chapter 355

A professor said, "Teacher Sterling doesn’t make baseless claims; get a staff member to bring a voltage tester, and we’ll find out."

If there’s really an electric leak, that’s no small matter.

A student went to call the staff, and as soon as they arrived, the staff assured the safety of the swimming pool, stating that they had checked earlier and that an electric leak was impossible.

However, Paige Sterling insisted on using the voltage tester, so the staff had to test it for her.

Unexpectedly, this test did reveal electricity.

And the voltage was high; if anyone were inside, it would likely be fatal.

Not only were the staff covered in cold sweat, but the students were too.

What was going on? Why did it suddenly leak electricity?

Thinking further, if Paige hadn’t pulled them out before the electricity came, what would have happened to them?

Just the thought was terrifying.

Suddenly, the students began to blame the staff.

"What’s wrong with your hotel? How could such a mistake happen? Do you know how close it came to costing lives?"

"Exactly, if Teacher Sterling hadn’t reacted quickly, we’d all be dead! Get your hotel manager here, we need an explanation!"

Although nobody died in the end, this matter was beyond what a staff member could handle.

So the staff quickly called the general manager, who first apologized and then promised to investigate the cause and provide the students with an explanation.

While the students were expressing their dissatisfaction incessantly, they noticed Paige Sterling suddenly left, heading towards the hotel rooms.

A few students saw how hastily she was walking, fearing something was wrong, and quickly followed her.

When they caught up with Paige, panting, they found her standing in front of the elevator, holding onto a woman’s hand.

The woman was Skylar Hughes.

She had originally planned to stay and watch the commotion before leaving.

After all, once people died and chaos ensued, no one would notice her.

However, she didn’t expect the incident she envisioned to not happen.

Though unwilling, there was nothing she could do; if the hotel figured it out, she wouldn’t be able to leave, so Skylar hurriedly packed to leave the hotel.

Who knew Paige would catch her just as she left the elevator.

Skylar panicked, afraid Paige knew the electric leak at the pool was her doing.

But then she thought, this matter had nothing to do with her; she didn’t act personally, and Paige had no evidence; she couldn’t be wrongfully accused.

However, being tightly held by Paige, gazed upon by her cold eyes, she was still a bit guilty.

This guilt made her unable to stop shaking.

Paige coldly asked, "What are you shaking for? Does seeing me excite you so much you’re trembling all over?"

Skylar feigned calmness, saying, "I wasn’t shaking; I was just surprised to meet you here unexpectedly."

She looked calm; Paige had no evidence it was her doing, so she had no reason to panic.

If she panicked, it would only prove she was hiding something.

Paige chuckled, and just as everyone found her laugh eerie, she suddenly raised her hand and slapped Skylar hard.

The slap was so intense that Skylar’s face swelled up immediately, burning, making it difficult for her to speak.

She covered her face, glaring at Paige, "Paige, what are you doing? How could you hit someone for no reason? You’re too much!"

"Are you really unclear why I’m hitting you?"

Paige’s expression had never been colder; the surrounding students mostly didn’t dare to speak.

Skylar felt a bit guilty, "How would I know why you’re hitting people? You’ve always been , wielding the power of your wealthy family, never treating me like a person, hitting and scolding whenever you want..."

The more she spoke, the more she felt pitiful, tears flowing.

Paige scoffed, "You’re not a person, why would I treat you like one?"

"Paige! Don’t go too far!"

Skylar took a deep breath, seemingly furious, yet unwilling to argue any further with Paige.

"Forget it, I’ve been bullied by you for so many years, what’s another time? I just want to ask if you’ve had enough. Can I leave now?"

"You can’t leave." Paige’s expression remained cold, making Skylar panic again.

Paige said, "I should’ve realized it then, someone daring enough to kill their own mother would stop at nothing. Letting you escape, allowing you to be carefree till now, was my mistake."

Everyone around looked at Skylar with strange expressions. Killing her own mother? Could this woman be so ruthless?

Skylar was angry, "Shut up, Paige! Stop talking nonsense!"

Skylar concealed this matter, fearing others would know; Yvette wouldn’t say anything, and Jared and Paige weren’t interested in spreading it, so no one knew. Even Skylar’s previous husband Roman Rowe and the Rowe family didn’t know why she had been imprisoned. Nᴇw novel chapters are publɪshed on 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹✶𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲✶𝗻𝗲𝘁

As long as no one knew, Skylar could deceive herself, continue to be the gentle and kind Skylar, while Paige was the malicious one, and she remained innocent.

But now, Paige unexpectedly exposed it in front of so many people, and those astonished looks were unbearable for Skylar.

She was supposed to be high above, envied and admired by women, pursued by men.

Yet now, she was viewed as filthy, like a rat, and she resented Paige endlessly.

But she couldn’t act, couldn’t kill Paige; she still had plans to leave the country, make a comeback...

"Paige, do you think falsely accusing me and ruining my reputation will defeat me? You’re naive; I will never admit defeat, nor will I cower. As long as I’m alive, Paige, you won’t have peace!"

After finishing, Skylar looked at the students, "Look carefully, this is your beloved Teacher Sterling, manipulative and ruthless..."

However, before she could finish inciting discord, the students interrupted her.

"Shut up, you can’t smear our Teacher Sterling! Everyone knows manipulative and ruthless is your modus operandi!"

"Exactly, does anyone not know what you’ve done?"

"You’re just jealous of our outstanding Teacher Sterling, but you can only be jealous."

"You’ve done so many things to hurt Teacher Sterling but haven’t touched her at all, truly the worst villain in history."

Skylar’s chest heaved, angered to the extreme.

"This is all Paige’s false accusations! Have you been brainwashed to speak on behalf of such a woman? Didn’t you see her hit and insult me without reason?"

Are these the students of today? So unable to distinguish right from wrong, and they aim to be the pillars of society? Just a bunch of fools!

"If Teacher Sterling hit you, there must be a reason."
