Chapter 325: Chapter 325

Julian felt happy inside, but remembering how Paige had been neglecting him for work these days, he pretended to be aloof.

"You looking for me about something?"

Seeing his pretended aloofness, Paige blinked, "Let’s have lunch together this afternoon, just the two of us. Do you have time?"

Julian snorted to himself, trying not to let Paige notice his delight.

"Send me the time and place, and I’ll come over if I’m free."

As soon as Paige heard this, she knew he would definitely come.

After telling Julian the time and place, she said, "Then you go ahead and get busy, I’ll head into the company for a look."

With that, Paige pushed her car into the company.

Julian felt a bit regretful, not really wanting to go out anymore, so he turned to Simon Hawthorne, "I’ll leave the next tasks to you."

Simon twitched his mouth; it was always , he had gotten used to it.

So he nodded, "Don’t worry, big brother, I’ll make sure the job gets done."

Julian turned and went back to the company, and Simon led a group of singles away.

Paige entered the company but didn’t go to the office to find Julian.

Julian, however, went to the seventeenth floor to dote on her for a while, then remembering they were going out to dinner later, quickly returned to his office.

When Shaun Jones came in to report work, he found Julian wasn’t there, and after waiting a while, he saw him come out of the break room.

Seeing Julian dressed so formally, Shaun asked, "President Hawthorne, are you going out on a date with the missus?"

Normally, even at large banquets, Julian always wore his usual black, white, and gray three-piece suits.

Only when facing Paige would he dress so grandly.

Julian responded with a hum, the corners of his eyes and brows holding a faint smile, making Shaun mentally complain that single dogs can’t catch a break.

When the time came, Julian went straight downstairs to find Paige.

"Where are we eating?"

Paige pointed the way, "Drive straight ahead, we’ll be there soon."

When the car stopped, Julian was surprised to find it was a... bar?

Paige actually brought him to a bar... for dinner?

Seeing Julian’s shocked expression, Paige cheerfully said, "It’s lively here, there’s plenty of atmosphere."

They sat down at the bar, where many people recognized Paige, and the whole place erupted like a boiling pot.

Paige was used to it, cheerfully asking Julian, "See, I’ve brought you out into the light, don’t you love it?"

This man was often petty, always asking if she’s hiding him away.

So Paige would take him out now and then to dispel his worries.

Julian glanced at the crowd of people frantically snapping photos with their phones, thinking tomorrow’s headline would definitely be him and Paige.

Probably wouldn’t even have to wait till tomorrow.

He quite enjoyed landing on trending topics with Paige, so his mood visibly brightened.

"Weren’t you treating me to dinner? Where’s the food?"

Paige nudged with her lips, "It’s coming."

Julian looked over and saw a delivery guy making his way through the crowd.

Paige, "Surprise? Unexpected? Memorable?"

The scene of them eating in a noisy bar was more than just unforgettable.

The chaos around them paused due to their stunt, and the entire bar went as quiet as a mouse.

Paige waved to the people around them, "You guys continue having fun, don’t mind us..."

This atmosphere, we can’t keep it up.

After finishing their meal in the bar, Paige and Julian left.

The main purpose for coming to a place was actually to check on Julian’s condition.

She had recently modified a wristband based on Julian’s situation, and while it seemed to help, the effect wasn’t significant, so she had to slowly test it, step by step.

The two of them walked home in the night breeze, with Paige striding boldly ahead and Julian trailing slowly behind, watching her silhouette.

After walking a while, Paige noticed the shadow that had once intertwined with her own had disappeared. She paused and turned back to look at Julian.

Julian said, "Feeling a bit stuffed." ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮·𝙣𝙚𝙩

Paige walked back to him, and Julian extended his hand, "Hold me for a bit, I’m afraid I’ll topple over."

Seeing him strain to put on a weak front, Paige twitched her mouth but still took his hand.

Mr. Hawthorne could be dramatically pretentious at times.

Sigh, only she could tolerate Mr. Hawthorne .

So Julian held Paige’s hand, trailing behind her, step by step, anyone who didn’t know would think he was the little wife.

Once they got home, Julian comfortably sprawled in the bathtub and waited for Paige to come in.

But after waiting for a long time, Paige didn’t come in, and even after calling out several times, Paige didn’t respond.

Julian picked up his phone to call Paige.

Paige answered, "I’m at home, why are you calling?"

Julian, "Honey, I forgot to bring my robe in, could you help me out?"

Paige twitched her mouth, "Got it, be right there."

Even though they had a home robot, he especially called her, clearly, Julian was up to something.

Paige asked Burt Chambers and Sonny Chambers to keep doing their homework before going to find Julian.

Sure enough, once she entered the bathroom, Julian didn’t let her out.

By the time she did come out, she was limp like a puddle of mud.

Paige, holding her last breath, fiercely said to Julian, "You went too far!"

Julian patted her head, "I won’t do it tomorrow."

Yet the next day, Paige couldn’t even leave the house.

Three days later, when Julian went to the office, Paige finally got a chance to see the sunlight.

Almost immediately after Julian left, she dashed out to get some fresh air, and then nestled in a café, drinking several cups of hot water.

What Paige didn’t expect was that at the table behind her, there was an acquaintance—Lana Quill.

The girl who initially didn’t like her at all, but later had a change of heart, facing tons of embarrassment.

Sitting across from Lana was a young man, and the atmosphere between them was quite strange. After a long while, Paige heard the man speak.

"Lana, there’s indeed a connection between us. To be honest, I am reluctant to break up with you, but after serious consideration, I really find us to be unsuitable. Staying together does no good for either of us. For your sake and mine, I hope we can break up amicably and remain friends..."

Was she getting dumped?

Paige thought Lana would cry, but to her surprise, this seemingly gentle girl was quite composed.

"You’ve already talked about breaking up through WeChat, and I’ve agreed, so no need to say it again."

Lana, with a faint expression, "You don’t have to worry about me clinging onto you. After all, you’re not Paige Sterling—you’re not exceptional enough for me to hopelessly chase."

Being name-dropped, Paige, "..."

Now even breakups are using her as an excuse?

The man clearly didn’t expect Lana to respond this way.

"If you didn’t want to cling, then why meet up?"

Clearly trying to win him back, why put on such a cold facade?

Did Lana think this would change his mind?
