Chapter 247: Chapter 247
Yvette Hughes’s little cousin pointed at Paige Sterling, "It’s all your fault for making my mom . I’m telling you, if anything happens to her, you’re the murderer, and I won’t let you go!"
Paige let out a cold laugh, "Nanny Sutton, bring the needle we use to sew clothes at home."
Nanny Sutton asked, "What do you need the sewing needle for?"
"Didn’t she faint? I heard there’s a folk remedy that no matter if someone’s unconscious or dead, just pricking them with a sewing needle will bring them back to life, and the more needles the better."
Nanny Sutton responded with an oh-oh and ran to find the sewing needles.
Paige sat down on the sofa, picked up a pen, and started writing. Then she grabbed the inkpad and forcefully pressed Yvette Hughes’s little aunt and cousin’s hands onto the freshly written IOU.
Before they could react, their fingerprints had already been left on the paper.
Paige said coldly, "See? This is the 30 million IOU you owe me. If you don’t pay back, I’ll take you to court!"
The little cousin said, "You forced our fingerprints; you’re so despicable. The court won’t recognize it."
"We’ll see if they recognize it or not."
The little cousin was so angry he almost fainted.
By this time, Nanny Sutton had found all the sewing needles in the house.
Yvette Hughes’s little aunt was still lying on the ground pretending to be dead.
She thought Paige was just saying it and wouldn’t dare actually do it.
Until Paige really pricked her with a sewing needle, she screamed and jumped up immediately.
"You vicious girl, how dare you prick me?!"
"If you don’t leave now, I’ll prick you so much that you’ll look like a hornet’s nest..."
Yvette Hughes’s little aunt wanted to say something but was so scared upon seeing Paige coming again with the needle that she shivered and ran outside.
Paige looked at Yvette Hughes’s little cousin, "Are you leaving or not?"
With their most troublesome relative gone, Yvette Hughes’s little cousin also feared Paige and couldn’t stay any longer.
Just then, he managed to stand up and immediately dragged his two kids away.
By the time Jared Sullivan got home, all unrelated people had been cleared out.
Julian Hawthorne was quick to react, having already called Shaun Jones to deliver two similar antique vases.
So when Jared returned, there were two new vases at home.
Paige took the opportunity to compliment Julian, "Your son-in-law gifted them to you."
Jared was pleased but still snorted, "Then where are the vases I left here before?"
Yvette was nervous for a moment but heard Paige say, "I liked them, so I took them. Dad, you won’t be mad, right?"
"They’re just two vases; feel free to take them if you like. Why would I be mad?"
Jared chuckled joyfully.
Yvette breathed a sigh of relief, gratefully glancing at Paige.
Afterward, Julian and Jared chatted in the living room, while Yvette and Nanny Sutton busied themselves in the kitchen. Paige took a stroll around the villa area.
By the time she returned, the meal was ready. Googlᴇ search 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝓷𝓮𝓽
Julian and Jared seemed to be getting along quite well.
After dinner, Paige and Julian stayed at the Sterling family house for the night, heading directly to the company the next day.
By ten o’clock, Paige was off to Islet Labs, returning only in the afternoon.
Coincidentally, Chris Swift was also heading back to the city, and they went together.
"Paige, are you hungry? The ramen from that place is really good. How about I treat you?"
They entered the restaurant, but after taking a call, they quickly finished their noodles and left.
Halfway through her bowl of noodles, someone sat across from her, also here to have noodles.
Paige looked up and happened to meet the person’s gaze.
Both faces were filled with confusion at the moment.
Because sitting there was Seth Shaw.
Seth immediately recognized Paige, "Paige! I’ve finally met you again!"
Paige continued eating her noodles, ignoring Seth, while he continued, "Paige, the fact that we even meet while eating noodles shows that our fate isn’t something that can be cut off..."
Paige still ignored him, but her eating pace quickened.
She didn’t want to waste half a bowl of noodles, nor did she want to stay there listening to a lunatic babble.
However, Seth’s loud presence quickly attracted the others’ attention.
Before long, people in the store recognized Paige and surrounded her, asking for autographs and photos.
Even people passing by outside heard cries of "God Sterling!" and swarmed in, quickly filling the little store.
Paige’s face darkened, and after finishing her last sip of soup, she stood up and squeezed her way out.
Along the way, she could still hear fans screaming.
"Ah ah ah, I actually touched God Sterling’s hand! I’ve decided I’m never washing this hand again!"
"Ah ah ah, God Sterling is so down-to-earth to come eat ramen; I’ve decided to have breakfast here every day!"
"God Sterling, God Sterling..."
Everyone was calling out to Paige, yet no one blocked her path.
When everyone finally realized, Paige had long since left.
Paige returned home to find Julian’s meal ready.
After eating, Burt Chambers and Sonny Chambers did their homework while Paige and Julian sat in the living room, browsing their phones.
Julian had casually turned on the TV, and Paige remembered having watched this series before, where the second female lead was quite a winner in life, to the extent of almost reducing the entire show to just its title.
What a fierce character.
However, Julian worried that this kind of character might lead Paige astray, so he quickly switched to a show of a simple and sweet character.
This show was even more bizarre, with the male and female leads about to strip and engage in some disharmonious activity, but the screenwriter absurdly had the female lead burst into an embarrassing love song instead.
More embarrassing, the male lead also stopped and joined the female lead in an awkward duet.
The scene was awkward beyond belief.
Paige got goosebumps watching, and upon glancing at Julian, noticed he seemed lost in thought.
That dazed look had a touch of gloominess.
Julian remained in this state until bedtime, only snapping out of it when Paige asked him, "Are you okay today?"
Julian, "Are you okay today?"
Julian gave a small "oh," handing her his phone, "Are you really fine?"
Paige took the phone and discovered that their encounter with Seth at the ramen shop, culminating in a fan blockade, had made it to the trending topics.
Strangely, Seth had posted on Weibo suggesting that he and Paige had arranged to meet, implying a potential rekindling of their relationship.
Although fans found it unlikely, given that a scoundrel like Seth wasn’t deserving of their beloved God Sterling,
Heeding his words, they thought, perhaps first love is unforgettable. What if God Sterling, driven by emotion, really did reunite with such a scoundrel?
The media speculated wildly, and due to this wave of attention, Seth seemed to be making a tentative return to the entertainment industry.
After all, if he truly got back with Paige, his status would naturally rise, and his past misdeeds could easily be brushed off as past folly, heralding a redemption arc.
Society usually proves rather forgiving and generous to men.
