Chapter 2: Chapter 2

The sun had just risen, which means that we also have to get up and do our chores. My sister and I get up to do the chores but today more than any other we have to wash the house from top to bottom because tonight we are going to have visitors.

mom: hello girls

we: good morning mom

me: how did you sleep?

she: good my daughter and you?

me: good me: actually mom I wanted to know if I could go to the market next door to buy a new dress.

she: yes, why not go with Irma too

me: ok, a few minutes later

me: Irma, hurry up, we have to go quickly and come back.

Irma: Yes, I'm here.

me: finally

Irma: We arrived at the market and we were looking at dresses, there were some very beautiful ones but unfortunately I didn't have enough money to buy one but I really wanted one, I liked it so much.

me: Irma I really like this dress but I don't have the money to pay for it. Could you lend me some money and I will pay you back afterwards?

her: If I could I would borrow the money but I would like to pay for the dress myself.

Me: That's okay, I'll come back to buy this dress another time. Here, add this money to yours to buy your dress. her: Thank you.

Me: You're welcome. I just said with a smile.

When Irma had finished paying the bill for her dress, we started to go home. At one level we had to cross a road. We looked at it but as we were about to cross a car appeared from nowhere and braked in front of us, I won't tell you the fear I had, I wasn't afraid for my life but for Irma's. The driver got out of the car as well as the one who was with him on the passenger side. They didn't look like people from here, one of them was mixed race, the other was black, but they were beautiful and looked rich.

??: Is it ok Mrs. Irma: uh yes it's ok sir thank you

??: are you sure because we can take you to the hospital if you are not ok

Irma: no I'm fine sir, goodbye

Irma: goodbye Dina: let's go me: yes

IN THE EVENING

dad: Dina, Irma

me: dad......

daddy: tonight we have guests who will come for Irma

me: for Irma but dad it's not yet 5 months since Habiba has just left for her husband.

him: yes, but it is a good match for your sister

me: so she will go and leave me here alone?

me: daddy please let Irma stay with me again.

him: no, she has to go away like all the others, it's a girl's destiny to get married and take care of her husband.

me: dad a girl, a woman is much more than that she can be a leader, a better leader even than a man

him: yes, but not my daughters, you were born to be good wives, except you

me: but why? I too would like to get married one day

him: what man will accept to marry you, don't dream too much my daughter

me: ok

him: Irma, prepare yourself

she: good
