Chapter 43: Chapter 43

“So where do you want to go next?” He asked, staring at me with his pretty emeralds.

I pressed my lip, “Hm, I don’t know. Since we went to my favorite place, maybe we can go to your favorite place. Do you have a favorite place?”

“Should we go to my lakehouse?”

My eyes widened, “You have a lakehouse?”

He nodded, “I do, it was a gift from my father when I was little. Vienna and Damon used to accompany me here during the summer. Vee would lie to my father telling him that we’ll be training by the lake but we’ll most likely be bathing.” He chuckled to himself.

His grin made me smile as well. “Well, then let’s go now so we can return before dawn.”

Cassius nodded in agreement. “Of course, we can’t miss dinner.”

As soon as we reached the lake, Cassius removed his clothing leaving only his undergarments then he dived into the waters with a huge splash. The water must be freezing. Half of the lake is covered in ice and snow. Clearly, they’ve ordered people to take care of the lake while their prince is gone.

“Cassius!” I called out, laughing.

His head slowly emerges on the water surface. He was smiling like an idiot while he stared at me smugly. He raised his hand and gestured for me to join him.

“Feyre,” He called but I only shook my head.

I will not be getting into that freezing water. Nope. There’s just no way in hell.

When he realized that I’m not coming whether he likes it or not, he groaned helplessly. Cassius frowns as his whole body emerges out of the water. He walked towards me with water droplets dripping from his wet hair.

I bit the inside of my cheek as I tried not to look at his exposed torso. He really has a good physique. I wonder if all vampires don't get fat thus the slim body.

“I don’t mind someone checking me out as long as it’s my wife.” The corner of his lips curved up into a smirk.

“I didn’t even look!” I spat, annoyed at his smug expression.

“It’s alright to develop desires towards your husband,” He held my wrist and lay my palm against his bare chest. Droplets of water ran down my hand as he held my fingers up to his lips.

My breathing seemed to hitch watching him kiss my palm. Without wasting one second, his lips crashed against mine. My heart started to beat at a rapid pace. It's like it will jump out of my chest if I don’t push Cassius away this very moment.

However, my body seemed to have a completely different agenda. It started moving on its own. I kissed him back with every ounce of strength I never thought I could muster. My knees were surprisingly weak. His kisses were soft yet eager. His lips didn’t hurt against my skin, they felt good; they were wet and gentle.

“Cassius,” I softly moaned as he pushed me against a tree. I could feel the roughness of the bark scraping on my skin.

“Someone might see us!” I squeaked helplessly when he hastily slid the strap of my dress to the side for him to have access to my shoulder.

Cassius groaned, “No one is here, we would've heard.” He kept sucking my skin, the noises his lips were making were enough to make me go crazy.

This was the first time I ever gave into him. I didn’t think it would come this soon. I thought I could still hold it but one kiss from him and every ounce of self control I have came running down the drain.

“I missed you so much,” His emerald eyes bore at me with longing

“Cassius, I want you.” That was all it took for him to pick me up and kiss me hungrily. I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck firmly. My body was on fire as he grazed his fingers all over me. I could not describe how good his lips felt against mine, or the gentleness in his movements as he whispered softly in my ear.

The forest is getting darker but we could only care less about the coldness and the danger in the woods. We could not feel the freezing snow against our pale skin, we could not feel the twigs tangled up in our hair. We didn’t give much care about the frost bites. Only the sound of our rapid heartbeats against our chest and the hunger for one another became our concern at the moment.

Both of us laid on the snow. I used his arm as a pillow. I stared at the stars and smiled to myself. We really did it here in the woods. Not that I’m complaining, it was amazing.

“Do you feel cold?” He pulls me closer against his body. I simply stared at him as he rubbed my ice cold skin. I suddenly remember someone with the same color of eyes as him. Izaac was nothing like Cassius, he has always been a jerk and I must be bonkers to even develop a liking for him.

I felt Cassius slowly intertwining our fingers. His hair now disheveled but he still managed to look ten times attractive. While I probably look like a bird nest with my messy hair.

I looked down at our hands and giggled.

“Nope. We don’t get cold, remember?” A teasing smile stretched my lips when I saw him smiling like an idiot.

“What is it?” I asked, narrowing my eyes on him.

He shook his head, “Nothing. I’m just happy, that’s all.” I saw his emerald orbs sparkling as they watched me with warmth and affection. They were lovelier than the stars, even the loveliest when they’re glinted with happiness.

“Have I told you already that you have beautiful eyes?” I smiled, watching him get shy all of a sudden. His ears are heating up, struggling to look at me.

“Aw, you’re so adorable.” I rub my hand on his bare chest, leaning closer to kiss him on the lips. It was supposed to be a quick one but he instantly kissed back, deepening the kiss. He held my jaw and sucked my lower lip, smiling.

I laughed, “We should go home,” I hit his chest lightly when he shook his head, teasing me with a smug smile.

“Come on,” I stood up and offered him a hand which he took, a ghost of a smile playing on his face.

When the door opened in the dining hall, all eyes darted at us. Everyone was there except for Damon of course, he’s out of town. There’s the King and the Queen, Vienna and Rosamund.

“Sorry, we’re late.” Cassius pressed his lips trying not to flash a smug smile on his face.

“It’s okay, brother. I’m sure you had a great time, really great time.” Vienna winked at me, making my cheeks heat up instantly. Did she spy on us? Wait, did she order someone to follow us?

I felt a warm breath fan my ear, “She doesn’t know,” Cassius whispered huskily, caressing the small of my back.

“I know that,” I swat his hand away when all of them, even the king, looked at us. The Queen on the other hand looked at us with a wide, somewhat creepy kind of smile.

Oh, this is going to be a long dinner.
