Chapter 18: Chapter 18

Scott didn't return home throughout the weekend,Laura couldn't believe that he would spend the weekend outside which he has never done just because of their last argument.

It was already Tuesday,Laura was done with work for the day so she decided to check on Scott she wanted him to come back home so they would make up,she walked into his office and noticed that he was on his laptop

"Hi" she said bringing his attention to her

"Hey"he replied before turning his attention back to his laptop

Laura walked up to him,standing behind his chair and placed both arms on his shoulders

"Let's go home" she said

"You go,I'll be home late" he replied

His reply made Laura remove her arms from his shoulders and swivelled his chair to face her

"It's already late,can we please go home" she pleaded

"I'm not done with what I'm currently doing,so you can go home and don't wait up for me" he replied drily

"Why do you keep doing this?every time I try getting close to you,you keep pushing me away"

"I'm not pushing you away, I only said you should go home and rest" he said looking at her with a scowl

Laura sighed in defeat not wanting to have another argument with him

"Fine. I'll see you tomorrow then" she said before placing a kiss on his head and leaving his office.

Lisa walked seductively into Scott's office

"Hey babe" she said before kissing him passionately, he smiled at her

"Are you done for the day?" He asked

"Yes I am,so shall we go now?"

"Give me a minute" he replied before closing his laptop and tidied his desk then they both left his office.

They got to the company's garage,Scott unlocked his car and they got inside. Laura was watching from a distance, she had asked her chauffeur to go home telling him she needed to be somewhere else which was a lie,she wanted to wait for Scott to know if he was working late like he had claimed but her suspicion was right, it was a lie

They drove out of the garage and Laura followed behind at a close distance until Scott stopped right in front of a bungalow,Laura parked two blocks away watching them.

Scott and Lisa were making out when Laura tried calling,he parted from the kiss and looked at his phone,he saw that it was Laura calling, he ignored the call and continued his make out session with Lisa. Laura was hurt

"Has it really come to this?" She thought to herself already in tears,she had seen enough already so she drove back home.

Laura went home shattered in pieces,Scott had been lying to her face all these time,she couldn't believe he would betray her in such a way. She dialled her mom's number and after two rings she picked the call

"Hello dear"

"Mom" Laura called breaking down in tears as she was broken

"Laura are you alright?" Her mom asked worried

"Mom you were right about Scott"

"Calm down honey and tell me what's going on"

"Scott's a liar mom,he's seeing someone else"

"Oh honey" her mom sighed with pity

"I wouldn't say I told you so but I did tell you he wasn't good enough for you"

Laura was in so much pain that she couldn't even say anything,she just kept on crying and hung up,she was on the floor when Karen saw her and got worried

"Ma'am are you okay?"she asked,Laura turned towards her

" Karen please get me a bottle of wine"

"But ma'am..."

"Just do it!" She yelled at her and continued crying

Karen brought the bottle of wine and left,Laura emptied the bottom hoping it would help her feel better but to her dismay she felt more terrible, she was drunk and felt wobbly but managed to find her way to the room,she threw a fit and began throwing the photos and lamps in the room, she threw Scott's clothes out of the closet when suddenly she came across an album,inside the album were photos of Scott and Lisa

Laura was surprised because they looked younger in the photos then she realised that Lisa was Scott's ex- girlfriend,she wondered why he didn't tell her a thing about this Lisa,Laura looked at the photos for awhile and concluded that she understood how Scott felt at the moment,but she doesn't want to lose him to someone else, she knew he fell for Lisa because she wasn't by his side when she showed up,so he must've been vulnerable,she couldn't blame him for that but she needed to hear him out,she would like to hear it from his own lips and then they could forget about the past and move on,she was ready to forgive him.
