Chapter 76: Chapter 76

''Nothing is nicer than having someone who...

Appreciates you in the smallest things..

Accepts you in times of hardships..

Comforts you when you're troubled..

Loves you no matter what

And is simply happy for having

You in their life. '' - quotesgram.com

Azura's POV

I was overwhelmed that Adrian attempted to make breakfast for me and served me in bed. I was bowled over by the sweet gesture. He made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches served with a plate of fresh strawberries and banana walnut muffins that I had bought on my way home three days back. Still covered with the duvet and sat down to eat.

"This is amazing. Thank you, Adrian." I said, appreciating his efforts.

"Do you really like it? Actually, it's all I can make," he admitted while I munched happily.

"I love it. It's the effort that counts," I said, sitting down to join me for breakfast.

"Anything for you," he said while he hesitated a little. It seemed as if he wanted to tell me something but couldn't. It piqued my curiosity and I looked at him with interest.

"Is there anything you want to say?" I asked him and his face brightened up a little.

"Will you go on a date with me tonight?" he asked hopefully while my heart skipped a beat. Who was I fooling? This was what I wanted all along, didn't I? I wanted to mean something to him.

"Yeah," I said smiling shyly unable to believe that he had finally asked me out. I had never thought I would get to go out on a date with anyone in my life.

"Oh, you will? Aren't you sore?" he asked with wide eyes while I fumbled for an answer. If I told him I wasn't that sore, would he make love to me again? However, he leaned forward suddenly and I forgot what I was thinking and my eyes widened at what he was planning to do. His thumb brushed against my lower lip and an electric tingle shot up my body.

"What?" I asked breathlessly.

"Peanut butter. Would you have preferred me licking it off you?" he whispered, his voice husky and his hooded eyes gazing back at me. My cheeks flushed with color and I slowly shook my head.

"Liar," he breathed while my breath hitched.

"I'm still waiting for my answer," he reminded me.

"Yeah I am, but I will be fine by evening," I said as he cleared the tray away and pulled me onto his lap. The duvet fell apart to my horror but he seemed to love it. His rough fingers roamed all over my naked body and I just couldn't think straight, melting in his arms just like I had last night.

"I have called in sick on behalf of you at the cafe, so you can rest the whole day," he said but I was too lost in the pleasures his hands were giving me to utter a single word.

"Oh," was all I could gasp out when his fingers touched my perky breasts.

"You're stuck with me the whole day on this bed," he said and I rolled my eyes. So much for rest! I knew what we would end up doing the whole day.

However, he just pulled me into his arms and held me close as if I was the most cherished person in his life. Overwhelmed by the simple and warm embrace, I laid my head on his shoulder and inhaled the intoxicating smell of him. It seemed as if I belonged to him, warm and protected in his arms, comfortable on his lap. I could spend my whole life like this with him.

Later he bathed me in the tub filled with lukewarm water, washed my hair, and treated me like a queen. His queen. I was healed by afternoon but I didn't tell him, or else he would again make love to me. I wanted to experience and enjoy my first date with him.

I wore a black collared jumpsuit with buttons all the way down, with twist detail at the waist. It was chic and smart and I paired it with long dangling stone studded earrings and black strappy sandals. I carried a jacket in case I needed it.

Adrian looked dashing as ever wearing a pair of black denim and a light grey silk shirt and a matching charcoal grey blazer. It did wonders to his eyes, making him look smoking hot. He led me to his black Mercedes and we sped away.

"Where are we going?" I asked unable to contain myself.

"You're really eager to know, aren't you?" he smiled at my eagerness.

"Yeah, obviously, it's my first date," I said as I put my hands on my mouth to stop my silly banter.

"I'm so glad that I'm your first date," he said as I blushed at being so inexperienced."Okay, we're going to Newport, Rhode Island," he said as my eyes popped out.

"But that's far away. We can't return tonight," I said as I looked panicked.

"Why do you need to return tonight?" he asked with a playful smile.

"I didn't pack anything Adrian," I said helplessly.

"Don't worry, I did. Everything that we need is in the car," he said as I gasped in surprise.

"When did you pack?" I asked wide-eyed.

He just winked at me and continued driving. It took us nearly four hours to reach Newport. Adrian drove straight to Springwell Newport Inn which was a luxurious 5-star hotel belonging to the Hendersons. It was a huge upscale hotel set up near the ferry pier with excellent views of the harbor.

Adrian had already informed the hotel of our arrival and we were cordially welcomed like VIPs, much to my excitement, and shown the best suite with a deck outside offering mesmerizing views of the water at night and harbor. They brought in our luggage which was a single suitcase. When Adrian packed it, I had no idea. The guy was unpredictable, but I liked it about him. In fact, I realized that I liked everything about him.

It was already 10 pm, and our dinner was laid out on the deck. We quickly freshened up and tucked into the sweet potato risotto, pan-roasted crab cakes, savored their red wine and their signature dish, Atlantic salmon served with celery puree and pomegranate glaze. It was a heavenly dinner, the best that I've ever had, maybe to some extent due to Adrian's presence by my side.

After dinner, I looked around my surroundings in awe." I'm so glad to be here with you. It's beautiful. Thank you, Adrian," I said smiling.

He smiled back." I'm so glad that you like it," he said taking my hand.

He put something into my palm and withdrew his hand. Inquisitive, I checked. Seeing that it was only a piece of paper, I opened it and there was written the line that I never imagined I would see.

Will you be my girlfriend Azura?

I sat there shocked at the sweet and simple question. It was so cute of him to go through so much planning to give me the best time of my life.

I took the ketchup and an empty plate and wrote,

Yes, Adrian

His eyes lit up as he came forward and kissed me softly, lingeringly, lovingly. I didn't want to ever be away from this guy. What was happening to me? Was I falling for him? I guess I had hopelessly fallen in love with him.

With that realization, I went into our bedroom. Adrian made passionate love to me and we slept soundly cuddled up in each other's embrace.
