Chapter 117: Chapter 117
10 years later
Claire's POV
"Jason, Alexander is staring at us," I reminded him when he planted a kiss on my lips and his hands roamed around my body for more.
"Let him. He should get used to it, else when he grows up, we wouldn't be able to get near one another at all," said Jason and I widened my eyes at him.
"Seriously?" I asked, staring with disbelief at our eight-month-old son, Alexander.
"Yeah, Jordan and Jennifer were cautious and hardly kissed in front of Gordon and now he gets jealous and upset every time he sees them kiss," said Jason and my eyes widened. Gordon was seven and their oldest child. I was horrified by the news. I didn't want Alexander to follow in his cousin's footsteps.
"Oh my God! I don't want Alexander to be like that," I exclaimed.
"I'll ensure that he isn't. So now kiss me before I go to work," he said and I smiled and kissed him eagerly. We soon became so lost in each other that we forgot that Alexander was watching us from his crib. An angry wail made us come to our senses and look warily at an angry and red Alexander. Had he already followed in his cousin's footsteps and become just like him?
"See? We need to kiss more often," said Jason, getting dressed for work. I tended to Alexander and found that he had soiled his diaper actually. I sighed with relief that he was still a normal baby. I had changed him and placed him back in his crib when my phone buzzed with an incoming call from mom. She announced the news of Stefan's wedding and we chatted for a bit. When I disconnected the call, I was on cloud nine. My twin was settling down and I couldn't control the happiness bubbling inside me. Jason came into the nursery to kiss us before heading to work. He looked at the wide grin on my face with suspicion.
"What's going on inside your head now?" he asked, kissing Alexander's forehead who had already fallen asleep.
"Jason, Stefan's finally getting married. We have to attend his wedding in a month," I said as I tucked Alexander into his crib.
"Sure, love, you tell me the date and we will go," he told me. Despite the years gone by, he still addressed me the same way as before. The love we shared multiplied with every passing day despite all the ups and downs we had gone through. We had matured and didn't let anything get in our way. We still lived at his house in LA and aunt Emily visited us frequently.
I had completed my studies in cosmetology and advanced hair therapy and hair dressings and after my master's degree, I went ahead and started my first hair salon. There was no looking back after that. Now I have a hair salon in all the major cities in the US. Jason supported my career and urged me on, giving me the confidence to succeed. On the personal front as well, he had been very patient with me. I had problems conceiving and had lost all hopes of having a baby but he didn't give up. He helped me cope with the stress, and the depression and took me to consult a leading gynecologist. For three years, I had to undergo rigorous treatment, but he ensured that I didn't give up hope and stopped midway. Even his family stood by us like a rock. Jennifer gave me tips to increase my fertility and I abided by them every day. Despite my busy schedule, I joined yoga and breathing exercises classes. Finally, after so much hard work, I gave birth to baby Alexander, eight months ago. It was the biggest happiness of my life and my dream of becoming a mother finally came true.
Jason was ecstatic and loved Alexander with his heart and soul. Aunt Sarah and uncle Kevin doted on him. Jordan and Jennifer also have three children, two girls, and a boy.
None of my brothers got married yet and Stefan's wedding announcement was a much-awaited event in our family. I always wanted to see them happily settled with the love of their lives and now that wish was finally coming true. The wedding was scheduled for next week and true to his promise, Jason took me home to New York, after two years. Everyone was ecstatic to see me. I knew Stefan was having problems in his personal life when he married a woman called Claudia who was just after his money. Now after meeting his fiancee, Annabelle, I was happy that he finally found his match. Seeing my twin happy with the love of his life was so satisfying that Jason and I reached there before we had actually planned to. With Jordan there to look after their family business, he dedicated his time to me and Alexander. It turned out to be a much-needed vacation for us.
The wedding venue, The Springwell Golf Club and Resorts belonged to my dad and was nothing less than any exotic destination. The whole property overlooked our 18-hole golf course and Callicoon's rolling hills. The sprawling resort was breathtaking with vast expanses of golf turf, and lush green lawns that rolled down to the water's edge of the huge private lake. Paddleboats floated near the edge and beautiful swans, and geese waddled about and swam serenely. The area gave a fresh, natural vibe and I was happy to inhale the fresh air.
"You didn't tell me that you owned such a place as this?" joked Jason. I raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously wondering where he was getting to.
"Why? What would you have done if you knew?" I asked with curiosity.
"We could have had our honeymoon here for free," he grinned and I glared at him.
"It was free for you anyway," I pointed out and he laughed.
"Anyway, it's better late than never. Let's dump Alexander on your mom and Martha and have that honeymoon now," he suggested.
"No way, Jason. What would they think of us?" I asked looking horrified.
"Nothing. They know us. Anyway, even if you don't agree, I will have my way in the end because Jason Crawford never gives up," he said softly, planting a kiss on my gaping mouth before leaving with Tristan to go fishing.
I stood there all flustered wondering if he really meant that.
I soon found out that he did, not that I was complaining though. The few days at the resort turned out to be the best time we had for years. The chemistry between us was still the same, the love-making as wild as it was that night at the cottage in Santa Susanna Club.
I was happy with Jason, his love for me was still the same as before. His definition of love really had me floored. If you asked him what is love, he would answer in three magic words,
Love Is You
So, I also started believing the same. I had and always will love Jason, so for me too love is only him. It's nice to have your dream come true.
THE BEGINNING OF A JOURNEY OF LOVE....
