Chapter 43: Chapter 43

Stefan's POV

I cherished the time that I spent with Rosy. I knew I had fallen head over heels in love with her. I wasn't sure about her feelings for me but I knew she cared about me. She gave me lots of happiness, more than anyone else in the whole world. I felt she loved me too. Although she never confessed her feelings to me, my heart could feel it. I was never so happy in my entire life as I am with her now.

I didn't want Jenny to come back and disrupt our privacy. I had to do something about her timings. I wanted this thing between us to last forever. I was planning on how to approach her and propose. The ideas Tristan gave me were too extravagant and almost impossible. I couldn't be as desperate as him. This was my first time and I wanted it to be heartfelt and special. So I waited for the right moment for some brainwave to help me with this.

Although we'd been with each other for a week, I still couldn't get enough of Rosy. The whole day, all I could think of was her, how to keep her in my arms, how to make love to her. Tristan and Adrian had returned back to New York but I had to threaten all of them not to visit me at the mansion. After extracting heavy bribes and treats they refrained from coming. I was satisfied. Gran had already guessed my relationship with Anna and my need to be alone with her and she left us in peace. I was thankful to my whole family for their understanding.

However, my peace of mind was disrupted when I started receiving weird phone calls from an unknown number over the last few days. Whenever I answered, no one spoke a word but I could sense the light breathing patterns at the other end, indicating the presence of someone, listening to me. They were blank calls, as no one ever spoke when I did accept the calls. They felt creepy, so I contacted my Private Investigator to have the caller traced. However, he met with no luck so far. If things went far I would prefer a police investigation rather than blocking the number. I was curious to know who was harassing me.

I didn't want to think too much about it since Rosy's 22nd birthday was coming up on Saturday and Audrey was planning a family dinner to celebrate it. They wanted it to be a surprise for Rosy and I was given the responsibility to just escort her to dad's house. I ensured that she didn't get any idea about our plans.

The whole week flew by, on Friday night I decided to tell Rosy about the dinner plans. I sat with Rosy on my lap in front of the home theater system in the entertainment room. After dinner, we decided to see a movie. We chose to watch the movie "The killing of a sacred deer". It was a movie both of us had wanted to see for quite some time. We both loved watching meaningful and good movies. It was a common interest of ours. Rosy admired my collection and I felt quite proud of it.

After the movie was halfway through, Rosy turned to me.

"Let's stop here and watch the rest tomorrow?" She asked me.

"Tomorrow won't be possible. We're going out to dinner. We have to be ready by 6 o'clock in the evening, " I informed her, without giving away any more details.

"Oh, really, " she squealed with excitement. I smiled at her enthusiasm.

Tomorrow was her birthday and we had planned everything at dad's mansion. I had already bought her a gorgeous dress and accessories with Audrey's help and left them in her room. "We can watch it any day. Let's go upstairs, I have something to give you," I said, switching off the movie and the lights. We went upstairs hand in hand. Rosy was excited to know what I was giving her but I didn't give in at all to her questioning all the way up the stairs to her bedroom.

I took her to her room to show her the box that I had placed on her bed. She went inside and saw the huge red box with a white ribbon and gasped excitedly.

"Stefan, what's inside that?" She squealed in delight, running to open the box. I followed her inside, charmed by her reaction to my gift.

"It's your pre-birthday gift. You can wear it to dinner tomorrow, " I said, chuckling at her reaction. She whirled around and gaped at me.

Her jaws had dropped and I chuckled at her reaction. "There's no such thing. This is my birthday gift," She stated, excitedly untying the ribbon and opening the box. She gasped seeing the contents that lay neatly packed inside. She took out the beautiful emerald green dress which matched her eyes. I loved it at first sight just like I loved her.

"Nope, there's more to come, Princess. Please let me do what I want to. I never had anyone special to give gifts to, " I insisted and she smiled genuinely. I could see that she was touched by my confession.

"Alright, but please don't go overboard," She said, caressing my cheek gently. I leaned onto her touch.

"This is too beautiful. I love everything that you chose for me," She said, taking out the nude 3-inch heels and hair accessories. She came to me and put her hands around my neck and kissed me fully on the lips.

"Thank you, Stefan. You mean the world to me, even without the gifts. I don't know how I got so lucky. It must be destiny doing its trick," She said with a smile, looking straight into my eyes.

"Same here darling. You got me thinking about this destiny thing, though," I said and she chuckled.

"So you've started believing in it too?" She asked with satisfaction.

I nodded. "Yes, I think I do now, " I accepted and she grinned. I picked her up in a bridal style and carried her to my bedroom. We made love until we dozed off in each other's arms.
