Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Annabelle's POV
I spoke to Martha about the packing and shifting. It seemed she already knew and fixed the packers and movers to arrive and help tomorrow morning. So I went up to my room and called my best friend Kayla. After thinking hard, I realized that she was the only person who could handle my dance school efficiently.
She and I had been childhood buddies, going to the same school, college, and dance school. She also had trained in dance along with me and we had graduated from the same dance school together. She lived a few blocks away from my old childhood house with her husband having gotten married just a few months back. She was teaching dance at a commercial institute and wanted to leave the hectic schedule and settle for more flexible working hours.
I called her and updated her about my dilemma. She was upset about my shifting to New York. However, she was very much interested in managing my dance school on my behalf. I breathed a sigh of relief seeing that my problem was somehow solved. I updated her about the work in brief. We decided to meet the next morning and I would brief her on the work that she needed to do.
That taken care of, I felt a lot relieved. I packed some of my stuff for tomorrow and went in search of John. I had roughly decided how to divide the work between Kayla and John. I updated him about his job at the studio. I informed him about Kayla and our meeting the next day. I didn't have much time on my hand and the handover had to happen as soon as possible.
When I came back, it was dinner time. Stefan and Tristan had their dinner in the study as they discussed their work. I ate the delicious turkey pasta that Martha prepared sitting on a stool at the kitchen counter. We planned the packing together. I helped Martha clean up and went upstairs and got ready for bed. I was asleep the moment my head hit my pillow.
The next morning, I woke up early at 5 o'clock and went in for my usual morning jog. After an hour I returned to shower and changed into a pair of jeans and a red t-shirt. When I went down for coffee, I met Stefan and Tristan at the table.
"Good morning, Belladonna," said Tristan with a grin, his eyes dancing with mischief.
"Good morning, Trissy," I said, rolling my eyes.
Stefan looked at me and nodded saying "Morning Rosy, did you go for your jog?" He asked but my eyes were glued to the se*y dimples on his cheeks. I wanted to caress them, kiss them so badly. How he managed to look so gorgeous all the time was beyond me.
"Morning, Stefan, yes I went. I never miss that. By the way, I spoke to my friend Kayla and she's willing to take over the dance classes. I will be meeting her and John at 7 o'clock," I informed him.
"That's great. Be ready by 9. You and I will go to the hospital to meet gran, " he said finishing his coffee.
"Hey, what about me, you guys? I'm also coming along with you," Said Tristan grumpily.
"No Tris, you need to stay here and oversee the packing with Martha. You and I can go in the afternoon," said Stefan, and Tristan's face fell.
"Do I have a choice?" grumbled Tristan. Stefan and Tristan finished their coffee and smiled at me and left for the study. I went to my dance studio and waited for Kayla and John.
The handover went smoothly. We discussed their duties, responsibilities, and pay packages.
Later Stefan and I left for the hospital. The 20-minute drive was awkward and silent with soft music from Stefan's car filling the background. He was in a happier mood than I had ever seen him before. When he played Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden, he sang along softly with a smile showing his dimples. He didn't once glance at me although I had the feeling that he was singing for me. His voice was so soothing, that it stirred my soul. I could feel the blush spreading all over me. I had no idea that he was such a good singer. The song was one of my favorites as well but after the way Stefan sang for me, it surely would be closest to my heart from now on.
We reached the hospital and we went to meet gran in her room. Today morning she was shifted from the ICU as she was much better.
She smiled happily seeing us. Stefan informed her and nurse Ellie that we all would be shifting to New York.
"Anna, will you also go sweetheart?" Gran asked tentatively, wanting me to agree.
"Of course, she will, Gran," said Stefan looking into my eyes.
"Yes, Gran," I said softly, avoiding Stefan's intense stare.
Gran was ecstatic. She wanted to be released immediately and go home but the doctor would only release her the next day. So we took our leave and went home to pack.
Tristan came hurrying down the main door carrying a small carton to load onto the awaiting van which belonged to the packers and movers.
"Lucky you bro, getting to romance under the warm sun, and me doing all the manual work," grumbled Tristan bumping shoulders with Stefan.
Stefan grinned cheekily, his dimples making him so attractive. "Work harder, little brother", he said pointedly earning a glare from Tristan.
"We weren't romancing, okay, '' I lied, remembering Stefan's song for me. Stefan curled up an eyebrow at me, but I ran inside with red cheeks before they could comment any further.
We helped Martha the whole morning amidst the usual banter and teasing. All packing done, the packers left and we had lunch and went up to my room to freshen up and relax. Stefan and Tristan went to the hospital to discuss gran's release tomorrow morning.
