Chapter 140: Chapter 140

Amelia's POV

"Give us a month to prepare, honey," coaxed mom.

"Then I'll run away with Amelia," he said stubbornly.

I punched him, then glared at him to stop the discussion. I was dying of embarrassment here. How could he argue in front of the whole family? Didn't he realize that we looked like desperate teenagers instead of two mature adults?

"Prepare whatever you can, Audi. You have two weeks, don't you? Why harass the boy? He's already been through a lot," Dad said calmly, as Tristan grinned happily. Mom rolled her eyes.

"Thank you, dad," said Tristan with a triumphant grin. No one could argue after that and Tristan looked around with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"My pleasure, son. Where do you plan to get married?" Dad asked us.

"Any of our hotels. Wherever it's easiest to organize. We don't have any preferences," Tristan said as I nodded. As it is we were not giving anyone much time to prepare so I was thankful that Tristan didn't have any specific place in mind.

So it was decided that we would have our wedding at their brand new, Springwell Lakeland Club and Resorts located on the shores of Lake George, a 4-hour drive from here. After dinner, Tristan got his laptop and showed us the venue. It was picture-perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue.

The guest list was drawn up. I roughly made a template to show what our wedding invites could look like. I already had everyone's measurements. The wedding dresses required would be my designs. The men would contact the same shop where they had their tuxedos made for Stefan's wedding.

We called Claire and updated her. She squealed in delight. She's expecting her second child, but since it's just the initial months, her baby bump isn't there, so her measurements remain the same.

So, the whole week, we were busy with wedding preparations and work. I tried to complete all my pending work so that I could be free during my wedding and thereafter. I had to appoint an assistant designer to help me as it was impossible for a single person to complete so much workload. Stacey Hawkins, my assistant designer was quite capable with five years of experience in this field and we quickly completed every pending work. The dresses came out perfect and thankfully didn't require any fitting appointments. Claire was due to arrive next week, 3 days before the wedding, so we dispatched the dresses to the rest of the family.

Anna and Stefan were back and they were ecstatic to hear the news. Anna discovered her pregnancy two days back and mom and dad went to visit her. I was excited about my wedding and Tristan was over the moon with the wedding preparations.

"Amy, leave your work on Stacey and take a little break now. You'll be too stressed. It will make you sick," said Tristan worriedly. I nodded.

"Exactly, you don't get married every day. So relax and enjoy your wedding. You can work your whole life," said gran. We visited Tristan's parents to check on the final preparations. I listened to them and decided to take a break now and enjoy my wedding. After all, gran was right. I would get married to Tristan only once and it would be for life!

The days went by in bliss with Tristan taking me out every evening on a date. I couldn't have asked for anything else. I was amazed at mom's expertise. Even in that short span of time, she had handled all the preparations so well. Finally, with all the wedding preparations complete, we relaxed and packed to go to the venue. It was decided that we would leave for the venue three days before. All my pre-wedding parties had been planned there. Claire arrived with baby Alexander and Jason and we all left straight for the venue together. My brothers and their families would go straight to the venue.

We reached the resort in the evening. It was a beautiful 20-acre lakefront property with panoramic views of the Adirondack mountains, with two private sandy beaches on Lake George. It was so beautiful that it took my breath away. The pictures didn't do it any justice as in reality it was really heaven on earth. Now, I was looking forward to spending my time with Tristan here.

We had booked the entire resort for 6 days. We met my brothers and their families who had already reached there a day ahead of us. The rest of our family would arrive a day before the wedding. We selected the beautiful beachfront villas with private decks offering breathtaking views of the lake. Tristan and I had the executive soundproof honeymoon villa all to ourselves. Every time we went inside, Cassandra, Claire, Anna, and Azura shared meaningful glances. Tristan, however, was glad that It was so embarrassing. We had an early dinner and after exploring the resort a little we returned. Stefan, Leo, and Jason had gone out with Arielle, Alexander, Jaxon, and Alexa while Adrian, Brandon, and Caleb were busy checking out the bar.

Tristan fought hard with his family. He would not let me sleep elsewhere. His family wanted them to stay away till the wedding. But he didn't believe in myths and traditions.

"Gran, do you want me to look like a zombie on my wedding day?" He said to gran as she shook her head.

"Absolutely not," said granny with a smile as if knowing where the topic was going.

"If Amelia sleeps with you for three nights, that's what will happen to me," he reasoned seriously as Cassandra and Azura giggled. Gran rolled her eyes at him, a knowing smile on her face.

"Tris, dear, it's considered bad luck," mom tried to persuade him. He shook his head vehemently.

"I don't believe in such things. You know it, don't you, mom?" Asked Tristan. I was pink with embarrassment since the girls were loving the drama going on.

"I know but it's just for a few nights. You'd be together all your life," said his mom. Tristan looked at her, ready for battle.

"Do you want me to die, mom?" He asked as I again hid my face behind Claire. Mom smacked his arm, "Don't ever say such a thing ever." She scolded him.

"Bro is right here mom. Is it necessary to sleep separately? I'm for you, bro," said Julian as mom glared at him.

"Tris no one dies after a night of separation." Aunt Emily said sternly.

"I will surely die," He grumbled as he pulled my hand and made me stand beside him. "I'm doing what I want, you guys do what you want. Please leave us alone," said Tristan while I looked down at my feet, feeling embarrassed at all the glares that I was receiving.

"Audi, leave the boy alone. It's his wedding, therefore it's his choice whether he wants to follow any tradition or not. You can't force them into anything. We just want them to be happy, don't we?" Dad said, making Tristan give all a victorious grin.

"Thanks, dad. I love you so much," He said, making the relatives roll their eyes. But no one could argue with dad. His words were the rule of the thumb. So, they all accepted what Tristan wanted and Tristan gladly dragged me to our room amidst chuckles from his brothers and their girls.
