Chapter 135: Chapter 135
Tristan's POV
Suddenly, the door opened and she peered out. "Will you help me shower?" she asked innocently. My heart skipped a beat or two with excitement. I flashed a grin at her and walked over to the en-suite before she could change her mind. She invited me and I didn't disappoint her, giving her the steamiest fun possible in the bathtub. Later, with both of us feeling sated and refreshed, we went down to make breakfast together. This was the best life possible and I could get used to this. It was as if we were married already.
Later, we sat at the breakfast table and she told me what happened in my absence with her brothers. I seethed with anger at Caleb's audacity.
"I'm glad that Bran has accepted us, Jay," she said as we ate breakfast. I was glad of that but decided that soon I needed to talk to Caleb.
"Don't worry, Leo knows about us," I said as I sipped my coffee while taking a bite of a bacon and egg sandwich.
"How did Leo know?" She was surprised at the news.
"Your mom wanted to meet me, one day before she finally left us. Leo came to my office and requested that I visit your mom. It was her last wish to ask for my forgiveness. I went along with Leo. Your mom gave her blessings for our future and asked for forgiveness. She wanted us to be together forever. Leo also apologized and gave his approval for our future. He wanted me to pursue you," I told her. Amelia sat, her face mirroring her shock at the news. I realized that she had no idea of this. Leo might not have told her about it. Tears started pouring from her eyes. I quickly got up and hugged her.
"They didn't inform me. I couldn't meet her during her last few days," she sobbed. My heart broke for her. She had been through so much all on her own while I on the other hand had such a loving and supportive family with me. If I had gotten the opportunity I would have done things differently. Dad and I would have gone to talk to her dad to ask for her hand the day she turned eighteen. Then maybe her family wouldn't have sent her away. Maybe then our lives would have been different. But then it was useless pondering over what could have been. Now I'll try to make it up to her and give her the happiness that she deserves. I would try to make all her dreams come true.
"It was all too sudden. Before Leo realized it, she passed away in her sleep," I consoled her, leaning forward and kissing her forehead. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer. "I'm sure your mom is happy now seeing that we're finally together, seeing that we're happy with one another. Don't you think so?" I asked her gently.
She nodded and smiled at me. I wiped her eyes gently and composed herself and we finished our breakfast and cleared up. It was a relaxing Sunday and I was content spending it with my Amelia. We stood at our terrace and looked ahead, talking. She wanted to visit Leo and I also wanted her to be at peace with her brothers. We went for a swim in the jacuzzi pool on my terrace. She splashed around in her skimpy red bikini, making me burn with desire all over again. Finally, unable to control my feelings, I picked her up and carried her to our bedroom. We made love again. It was the best and the laziest Sunday of my life.
I wanted to lighten her mood and take her out to lunch. She came out wearing a beautiful ivory-colored dress with a rhinestone neckline, giving her an angelic look with white sandals and small diamond studs. Her hair cascaded down her back, loosely tied with a hair clutch. Perfect for the occasion! I knew what I would do and she seemed perfectly dressed up for it.
I took out my white BMW and we drove off. I stopped the car near the restaurant and parked it. Amelia stayed in the car staring wide-eyed at the restaurant as I chuckled to myself and went to help her out. Locking the car, I led her to the door and went inside. Her jaws dropped when I selected the same seat that we sat in eight years ago when Brandon had caught us. She went inside dazed, and I sat down next to her, looking at her reaction happily. It was the same place I sat eight years ago, right next to her.
"Jay, you brought me to the same restaurant where we went for the first time together! I'm so overwhelmed," She said with eyes glistening with emotions. I knew that it brought back lots of memories to us and they were not all rosy but circumstances have changed and I was glad that we have solved all our differences.
"Yes, love. We started our relationship here, remember? This place was so special for me. After you left, whenever I was lonely and missed you too much, I would come here and sit at this exact place. It would also make me feel as if I was with you," I told her. She caught my hand and we smiled at one another. Those days were now in the past and done with. We have a future right in front of us.
"I'm glad that we found each other, Jay. I'm glad that all that is now in the past. Now let us just look forward to our future together. Let us forget what happened in the past," she said, squeezing my hand. I nodded, she was right and I was relieved that it was all cleared.
"Let's order. Shall we?" I asked as the waiter approached us with a smile, patiently waiting for us to order..
