Chapter 115: Chapter 115
Amelia's POV
"Why are we here?" I asked in confusion, looking around as he parked his car and led me to the grand main reception leading to the elevators. He didn't answer me and just smiled. It was a dangerously flirty smile that had the power to make you lose your senses and fall for him if you haven't already. I preferred to ignore it. I was in love already and therefore all the more vulnerable. I didn't want to end up kissing him in public!
Tristan led me to a private keyed elevator opening onto the top floor directly into an expansive foyer. He punched in the code at the huge wooden main door and opened it leading me inside. In front of me was a gracious living room that was accented by floor-to-ceiling windows. He led me inside as I gazed at the luxuriously furnished apartment.
"Wow! This is so awesome, " I gasped, my eyes going wide as I walked towards one of the terraces overlooking iconic Tribeca architecture.
"There are two more terraces," informed Tristan, making my eyes go wide. He gave me a tour of the place without informing me who it belonged to although by now I had a rough suspicion that it belonged to him. It was a 5500 sq ft full-floor penthouse duplex with grand living spaces and three separate terraces.
"Welcome home, baby doll," he said at last with a genuine smile. I knew it!
"Wow! Your home is beautiful and huge," I said, with wide eyes and a wide smile on my face.
"Thank you so much. But now it's ours," he announced with the same happy smile while my heart stopped beating at his words. My mouth hung open with surprise. Our home? What did he mean by that?
"I don't understand," I started feeling more confused than ever before but before I could complete my sentence, he interrupted me.
"You're moving in with me, right now," He ordered, his eyes challenging me to defy him. My jaws dropped to the floor. Was he seriously expecting me to move in with him? That too, just now? Seriously? Then a feeling of indignation rose in me. How could he manipulate me around like this?
"Excuse me, Jay, why should I move in with you, that too so suddenly?" I said in irritation. "You're really weird! I'm not doing it at all," I told him but instead of getting angry, he grinned having expected this reaction from me. Of course, he knew me so well!
"I'll give you all the reasons why you should move in with me, and you give me the reasons why you shouldn't. Done?" he asked, smirking. I couldn't believe my ears. What reasons could he have in favor of this? Then again, he was Tristan and I should have known that it was no use arguing with him.
"Alright, I think we shouldn't because we need our privacy, I definitely do. Secondly, I can afford my own place, I don't want to be a burden." I said deep in thought.
"That's it? Firstly, we are dating, you are my girl, so we don't need that much privacy. We can open up to one another. Secondly, I know you're doing well, and I'm proud of you. I want you to know that you can't be a burden on me ever. I would love to have you stay with me. I want it more than anything else right now. Besides, it's useless wasting so much money paying rent when I have this huge penthouse that I want to share with you. If you insist you can cook for me sometimes if you want. Please don't say no. Your shop is just a 10-minute drive from here," he said, trying hard to convince me. Yes, definitely what he said made sense. I love him, and living with him was like a dream come true for me.
"Okay, but I'd be paying the food bills. Also, I can only shift next month," I said. How could I shift just now? All my belongings were in my apartment. Tristan shook his head, pursing his lips with determination.
"We'll see about the bills later. And I want you to shift tonight, love. I can't wait that long. We will go tomorrow, pack what you need immediately and bring it back with us. The rest will be taken care of," said Tristan. I was at a loss for words. It didn't look as if he was ready to listen at all. Well! I should have known better. You can't win against Tristan. If he made up his mind, he would pursue me to hell to get what he wanted.
"Okay, you win. I don't seem to have much choice, do I?" I asked with a smile on my lips. Tristan grinned back.
"No choice at all. Well, you do like the idea, don't you?" he asked knowingly. I smiled and turned away to check which bedroom I'd be occupying but he seemed to have something else on his mind. He caught my wrist and pulled me into his arms, flush against his hard torso. My heart seemed to jump out of my rib cage knowing what he would do to me now. Work on his promise maybe? Well, who was complaining? I wrapped my arms around his neck, caressing his hair tenderly.
