Chapter 107: Chapter 107
Amelia's POV
The next few seconds went by in a blur as the security guards rushed forward in anger. The one guarding the garden entrance punched the stripper who had caught me and extricated me from his hold. I was relieved to have been saved. The stripper fell to the floor from the power-packed punch. I felt bad for him since he was just doing what he was paid to do. The guard shouldn't have used violence on the poor guy! Too dazed at what was going on, I was about to flee but it seemed as if my troubles had just begun. Before I could celebrate my freedom and thank him, the rogue guard picked me up on his shoulder and started striding towards the exit. I panicked and was too startled to react.
"Hey! Stop. Put me down," I yelled when I came back to my senses but he didn't seem to hear me at all. Maybe he was deaf too like his fellow guards! So I shrieked, I was glad to escape from the stripper but only to be kidnapped by a security guard. How bad could my day get? I couldn't even call the other security guards to help me as I couldn't find anyone around amidst the chaos. My shouting didn't seem to affect him in any way. He continued walking out like he owned the damn place!
I saw out of the corner of my eyes that the guards were all busy. One security guard had picked up Anna, another Cassandra, and another Claire, while Audrey was escorted out by another guard. The one who had picked up Anna, signaled to the manager of the banquet hall to wind up. With that, we all left struggling and shouting at their high-handedness. The poor manager seemed to have no say in front of a few security guards. Wasn't it weird?
"I'll complain to your boss!" yelled Cassandra angrily but the deaf and dumb guards didn't hear or say a word. Were they appointed by someone to kidnap us? Were they goons? I panicked and so did the girls as I could hear them screaming and protesting, their condition being similar to mine.
Banging my fist on the broad muscular back of the one who was walking away with me, I demanded, "Thanks for saving me, but now I can walk. Let me go." He continued walking angrily as if I hadn't said a word. I was at my wit's end now. "Someone call the cops, help," I yelled. Everyone else yelled similarly but no one actually called the cops. The manager who was supposed to help stood helplessly in one corner.
"Hey, are you deaf? Put me down you buffoon," I struggled more, but he kept on walking like he had a mission to accomplish. A mission to kidnap me!
"Ugh, I'll complain to your boss, dammit," I yelled feeling frustrated and panicked by now. Where the hell was he taking me?
Finally, we reached the parking area and he put me down. I fixed my dress angrily while he took out the car keys from his pocket. Wait a minute! Where was he taking me? There was a strange familiarity about him. I could smell a faint citrus and woody smell on him. It made me suspicious by now. Was this guy a security guard even?
"I'm not going anywhere with you," I said, whirling around to leave but he grabbed my wrist. I struggled to get free but his touch didn't nauseate me as that str*pper's touch did. Yet I struggled to get free in my state of confusion. Suddenly to my horror, the struggle made his mustache come loose and fall at my feet. My eyes popped out, as I stared at it and then at him.
I quickly pulled off his cap, his brown tousled hair tumbled out. Wait a minute, I snatched his sunglasses and Tristan stared back at me with a goofy grin on his face. My jaws dropped to the floor as I gaped at him with horror. It was Tristan all this time? No wonder I could smell his signature cologne on him all this time. My face flushed red with anger at his underhanded trick.
"Jay? What the hell?" I gasped out. He grinned at me wickedly but I lost my mind. What was the meaning of all this? How could he harass us just to win a challenge?
"Tristan Jayden Henderson, you tricked us and attended our event?" I yelled at him but he seemed to enjoy my reaction and flashed me a goofy grin instead.
"Fooled you, didn't I?" he asked with a victorious grin on his face while I still glared at him.
"You tricked me, Jay. It doesn't count," I told him, shaking my head but he grinned.
"Oh yes, it does. Do you remember your promise?" he asked with a wink. Before I could answer him the others also came over and Anna's eyes widened seeing Tristan standing in front of her wearing the guard's uniform. She took off her abductor's disguise, it was none other than Stefan. Her jaws fell to the floor.
Claire's abductor turned out to be her husband, Jason Crawford. Cassandra turned towards the security guard who carried her outside and discovered that he was none other than Julian. Audrey turned and pulled the ear of one who escorted her out, and Adrian peeled off his mustache, cap, and sunglasses, "Mom, aaahhh. You're hurting me," he yelled and we all laughed.
"So, all of you security guards attended our bridal shower?" Audrey glared at her sons. "Wait for your punishment," she said pointing her index finger at them as the limousine came forward and she stepped into it, followed by a glaring Anna. Stefan held his ears in apology, as he climbed in with them. Julian tried escaping Cassandra's blows and went to his car, opening the door for her. It was totally crazy and the most ridiculous thing I'd seen in years.
