Chapter 100: Chapter 100
Amelia's POV
My phone rang, and we sprang apart, eyes wide and breathing heavily as we stared at each other. Realization suddenly hit me that I had lost my senses again around him and I picked up my clothes, wearing them quickly. I saw Tristan picking up my handbag from where I left it on the floor and he handed it to me. I quickly took out my mobile phone and checked the caller ID flashing upon it. It was Claire. I had saved her number for Anna's bridal shower scheduled for Monday. Tristan's eyes widened seeing his sister call me. He walked away to my kitchen and opened my refrigerator.
The call got disconnected so I called Claire back, "Sorry I missed your call. So, what's the plan for Monday?" I asked her when Tristan came back towards me, sitting on the arm of the couch I sat at with a bottle of water.
"Monday we start at 11 o'clock at Springwell Hudson Heaven. Come 15 minutes early, and carry a red bikini. The theme is 'Give Me Red', so wear something sexy and red," she chuckled. Red? You've got to be kidding! Who wears red at bridal showers? It's always white or any other subtle color. I knew that I was going to drop the idea of carrying a red bikini.
"Red prints will do or solid red?" I asked, my eyes widening with horror. They were a fashion disaster! I could feel Tristan's curious look fixed upon me. He listened intently, with suspiciously too much interest, with a raised eyebrow and a permanent smirk on his face. God knows what was cooking in his head! Whatever it was, I wouldn't splash around in my bikini with him around. Would he be around?
"Solid, solid, no silly prints for you," giggled Claire into the phone. "Oh and the passes are with me, so you need to be on time. We are meeting at the reception," she informed me with a chuckle.
"Sure, I'll be on time wearing red," I giggled back. It sounded like a weird party but I was excited!
"Okay, see you then," she said as a baby's wail could be heard over the phone.
"Yeah, see you on Monday," I said, disconnecting the call. I turned to look at Tristan who seemed more excited than I was. His eyes glittered as he gazed at me.
"I'm also attending," Tristan stated in a matter-of-fact tone, knowing I would argue. I knew it was an all-women affair and Tristan wouldn't be allowed at all. Well! Let him dream on!
"You won't be allowed," I said, shaking my head as I took the bottle of water from him. I drank the rest and left it on the coffee table.
"What do I get if I'm able to attend it?" he asked mischievously, lifting his eyebrow as if to challenge me. But knowing Anna, Claire and Audrey, I knew that he didn't stand a chance.
"Huh! Anything you want? It's an all-women show. Audrey will throw you out," I said, challenging him back.
"We'll see about that," he said, getting up. I got up to see him off but to my surprise, he kept standing and staring at me as if some plan was cooking in his head.
"I'm going to sleep. You should go home now," I hinted so that he would leave and I could sleep in peace. But he just gave me a smirk and shook his head.
"No, I'm not driving so late at night. It's risky, right? I think I'm staying the night," he stated with a smirk and twinkling mischievous eyes. I rolled my eyes at him. I should have known. A faint blush crept up my neck.
"Fine, just sleep on the sofa," I said, a strange excitement coursing through my body. Tristan was so unpredictable, I had no idea what he would be up to. Would he sleep with me again as he did before?
"No way, I'm too big for your sofa. I'll be with you on your bed," he said with his eyes glittering with excitement. A faint blush by now crept all over my body and I looked somewhat like a beetroot. He lunged toward me but I somehow escaped him.
"Never," I said with a wide teasing grin as I ran towards my bedroom all of a sudden. I knew he was startled but he was Tristan after all. He rushed after me, making me squeal with anticipation. It was as if we were young children again. I was about to close my door when he raced towards me and put his foot in between, stopping the door with ease. With my heart thundering in my chest, I watched him open the door and forcefully come inside with a grin on his face.
"It's not that easy to escape me, Baby doll. I'll always get you," he said, his eyes dancing with amusement and a victorious grin on his lips. I sighed but deep inside me my heart was happy and I couldn't erase the silly grin from my face.
"Jay, I need to shower and change, please go," I said, begging him, trying to push him out of the room but he was like an iron pillar and didn't budge even an inch.
"Nope, get used to me, baby doll," he said stubbornly sitting on my bed. His words played havoc with my senses and made my breath hitch.
"Ugh, this is impossible," I grumbled as he grinned happily, having won another round. I stomped all the way to my closet and took out a fresh pair of pajamas and lingerie while he watched me with his piercing eyes fixed upon me. I refused to look into his eyes which promised more. I had no idea what awaited me when I emerged from the washroom. With cheeks on fire and a heart beating like thunder, I went to the bathroom, feeling his hawk-like eyes, constantly watching my every move. I tried to while away a little time in the washroom, trying to calm my rapidly beating heart.
