Chapter 15: Chapter 15
I open the door to Gwen’s room and she follows behind me.
“Slow down and tell me what’s wrong.”
My feet pushes me to pace round the room, pulling off the annoying wig on my head.
“I think he marked me.”
She frowns, “That’s impossible. He marked her-”
“Do you have a better explanation for this?” I pull down my shirt collar to show her the bite mark, “He must have done something to me. He knew that I didn’t escape all this while. Goddess, what is happening to me.”
She tries to calm me down.
“Relax, he can probably feel your emotions and that is not a good thing.”
“I blocked him out before I walked down here,” I take my face in my palms and sit on the bed, “What am I going to do, Gwen? He has me in trap and now I can’t escape.”
She sits next to me, “We’ll find another way to fix this.”
I grip my hair as I stare at her.
“There is no other way out of this Gwen, the only way to remove a mark is by-”
“By killing Grace. It must break the bond or whatever tie you have with him.”
I widen my eyes, “Have you gone crazy. Do you think I would kill an innocent person.”
“She isn’t exactly innocent since she stole your man, your mate, Minerva. Open your eyes!”
“Goddess, you have gone crazy.”
She rolls her eyes at me when I say this.
“I agree. Killing me would be a little too far. I should have a choice in this, don’t you think?”
I gasp and look up to see Sebastian and Grace standing in the room, still on their ceremonial clothes.
I wasn’t there till the end but she now has a crown on her head.
She is the queen now.
“You are seriously trying to kill my mate,” Sebastian glares down at Gwen and I stand to my feet.
“She isn’t your true mate, asshole and besides we haven’t started sketching the plan of her death.”
As Gwen speak those words, Sebastian takes a step forward and growls at her, making her eyes widen in fear.
Grace also takes a step forward and places a hand on his chest to calm him.
He relaxes immediately and she pulls back hastily, bringing my attention back to her.
She tilts her head as she stares at me, “You’re mad that I am mated and also sad and happy that you are marked too.”
They aren’t fully mated.
“How did you know that?”
“I can feel your emotions leaking out. You better close it off properly.”
Gwen pats her bottom as she stands up, “You know, for a human you sure know how a lot about us.”
Grace turns to her, “I had to read a few books about werewolves when Sebastian proposed to me.”
Gwen folds her arms and narrows her eyes, “I have never heard of you before and Sebastian didn’t propose to any female.”
Grace sighs, ignoring her harsh tone, “We met a few months after we proposed.”
She doesn’t budge.
“I’ve never met you in my life.”
“Gwen,” I hiss and she turns to me.
“What? I am saying the truth. I have never met her before.”
“Maybe you forgot her face.”
She shakes her head at me, “No, never met her in my life. How many times will I say that. I don’t know who that freak is!”
Sebastian immediately flames up, “You should watch your mouth.”
Grace holds him down again, “Hey, hey. Relax. You don’t go and kill your sister because of me.”
I can see that Grace is scared but she is hiding it.
“I will do anything for you, my queen.”
She giggles and I try to tone out of their conversation but it seems like it’s the more I listen in.
I clear my throat and they stop whatever they are doing.
Grace hides her smile and smooth down her dress.
“I came here to actually speak to you about our situation. Sebastian told me everything.”
“I am sure he also told you how he wants to use my as a baby making machine,” I raise a brow and she glances at Sebastian and nods.
“No matter how I don’t desire for that to happen. I think he is right.”
“You are kidding me right?” Gwen shakes her head as she sits back on the bed, “I knew she was a psycho all along.”
Sebastian tries to ignore her as he speaks, “I think it would be best if you two talk alone.”
“I am not leaving this room.”
“Please, I also agree with Sebastian. We can talk and think clearly with some fresh breeze on us,” She says, “Don’t worry. The members of the staff won’t be present for a while.”
I frown, “Why is that?”
“I sent them away, well, we did. We can’t start having gossip about another female who bears the king’s scent and mark, right?”
“I never thought of that,”I say as I walk to the door.
I look back at Gwen who sits on the bed and then at Sebastian.
Gwen waves me off, “Don’t worry. I will be fine.”
With a nod, I step out of the room and Grace follows beside me.
“My name is Grac-”
“I know what your name is, there is no need to introduce yourself to me.”
She keeps her mouth shut and walks a bit faster.
“Where are we going?”
“No where in particular.”
“Then slow down.”
She sighs at my tone and does as I say.
Who said that someone can’t command a queen.
“Sebastian really wants you to birth his pups.”
“Tell him that I am not interested in the job. I got my own life to live.”
“I know that but please reconsider.”
My eyes snap up to her, “Reconsider what? Being a mistress, a side chick while he spends his lifetime with you? I’ll just be in the side lines while both of you live happily ever after.”
Her eyes darken.
“Do you think I want that for anyone. I have been thrown to the sidelines all my life and I know how it feels. I am only trying to help you. Sebastian has the say here and I am doing all I can do for you not to get hurt.”
She speaks and I roll my eyes.
“You are trying to give me a detailed plan of his or what? Your way of sugar-coating it isn’t working,” I stop moving, “Why don’t we agree that Sebastian has us trapped and find a way to free ourselves.”
“Sebastian doesn’t have me trapped, Minerva, he doesn’t have you trapped too. The sooner you understand that, the better things will be.”
She gives me a last smile before she walks away.
We will see…
