Chapter 47: Chapter 47

Mink’s P.O.V

"Stay away from my mate!"

As I stood in front of Abhay, my heart pounded with a mixture of fear and determination. I squared my shoulders, ready to face whatever threat came our way. The intruder, a man with a menacing aura, rose from the ground with a laugh that grated against my nerves. His gaze pierced through me, and I could feel the weight of his scrutiny.

"You thought you could hide from us forever, little wolf," he sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "But here you are, cowering behind your weak human mate."

I clenched my fists, refusing to let his words shake me. "We're not hiding from anyone," I retorted, my voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through my veins. "We've chosen to live in peace, away from your pack's tyranny."

The man's laughter echoed in the clearing, mocking and cruel. "Peace? Is that what you call it?" he scoffed.

"You've stolen away half of our Alpha's wolves, thinking you could build your own little paradise. I thought I would come here to find a strong Alpha, someone who would be worthy of a challenge from my Alpha. But imagine my surprise when I realize the Alpha of this foolish pack is a mere woman that too with a weak human mate!"

His words stung, striking at the core of my pride. But I refused to let him get under my skin. I stood tall, meeting his gaze with defiance. "Strength comes in many forms," I countered. "Taking away people’s freedom and asserting dominance over the weak doesn’t define strength."

The man's smirk widened, as if amused by my defiance. "Is that so?" he mused, taking a step closer.

“But you see, little bitch, things are about to change around here very soon.” His smirk turns evils as he takes another threatening step forward. “As soon as I deliver the news about your…so-called, female Alpha to my real Alpha, he’ll he elated that he doesn’t even have to raise his finger to defeat a bitch like you.”

His laughter echoes through the mountains, cruel and ruthless. “Soon, you and your entire pack will be groveling at his feet, licking his boots like obedient dogs!”

I shook my head, a bitter laugh escaping my lips. "You must think I was born yesterday. I've seen far too many pigs like you in my life to fall for this kind of provocation. You think you can waltz in here and manipulate us into submission? Think again."

The stranger's expression hardened, his arrogance turning to anger. "You dare to defy our Alpha? You're making a grave mistake, woman. You'll regret crossing us."

I held his gaze, unflinching. "Regret is not something I'm unfamiliar with. But let me make one thing clear. If you don't get out of here soon, you'll be going back to your Alpha in pieces. Not only for killing one of our people but also for threatening my mate."

There was a tense silence as the stranger processed my words, his fists clenched at his sides. For a moment, I wondered if he would lash out, if violence would be the only answer. But then, he threw back his head laughing.

As I stood there, watching him, the man whose arrogance knew no bounds, I felt a familiar rage bubbling within me. He laughed, that cocky grin spreading across his face, as if he held all the power in the world.

"You may be an insane woman," he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt, "but at least you're hot."

“And if you suck my cock, I might allow you to live,” he chuckled.

His words, meant to demean and belittle me, only fueled the fire burning inside me. How dare he? How dare he reduce me to nothing more than an object to be admired for my appearance? And then, the audacity to suggest that if I were to perform such a degrading act, he might forgive my supposed 'cockiness'?

I felt Abhay's presence beside me, his voice a desperate plea for reason.

"Mink, stop. Don't do anything rash," he urged, his tone filled with concern and worry. But I couldn't listen, couldn't heed his warnings, not when my anger roared louder than reason.

With a smirk, I began to walk towards him, each step a declaration of defiance. Abhay's protests faded into the background as my focus narrowed solely on the man before me, his arrogance now a target for my wrath. I could feel the heat of anger coursing through my veins, drowning out any semblance of hesitation.

But before I could reach him, Abhay's voice cut through the haze of fury, pleading with me once more.

"Mink, please," he yelled out, his words tinged with desperation. Yet, despite his pleas, I couldn't stop myself. Not when the injustice of it all burned so fiercely within me.

And so, I ignored Abhay's warnings, ignored the rational part of my mind that urged restraint, and continued my steady advance towards the man who dared to mock and degrade me. For in that moment, my anger consumed me whole, leaving no room for anything else but the desire to make him pay for his arrogance.

As I drew nearer, I could feel his confidence practically oozing from every pore. I maintained my composure, outwardly calm but inwardly preparing for the moment of reckoning. Then, just as he was within arm's reach, I met his gaze head-on, and that's when everything changed.

My eyes, suddenly took on an otherworldly glow, as if lit from within by some unseen fire and in that moment, I saw him jolt in primal fear, freezing him in place as if he were caught in the grip of some ancient curse.

"What... what are you doing to me?" he stammered, his voice trembling with fear and disbelief as his body became immobile. "I can't... I can't move!"

I watched in silence as he grappled with the invisible force that held him in its grip, his panic mounting with each passing moment and as he continued to flail helplessly before me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction wash over me.

His arrogance faltered for a moment, but then he sneered. "You think you can intimidate me? You're nothing but a pathetic little girl."

That's when I decide I've had enough. With a swift movement, I extend my claws, the metallic glint of them catching the light of the sun. The man's eyes widened in realization, but it was too late. In one fluid motion, I slash through his clothes and across his chest, the sound of tearing fabric followed by the sickening squelch of flesh being torn apart.

Blood splatters everywhere, painting pristine white snow crimson. The man staggered backward, a strangled cry escaping his lips as he clutched at his chest, crimson seeping through his fingers. He fell to the ground, coughing and sputtering, his life ebbing away with each ragged breath.

I stood over him, my chest heaving with exertion, a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. But then, amidst the chaos, I hear a gasp from behind me, and my heart freezes in my chest.

Slowly, I turned around, my eyes meeting those of Abhay who had witnessed the gruesome scene. His expression is a mixture of horror and disbelief, and I realize, in that moment, the gravity of what I've done. I've taken a life, extinguished it without a second thought, all in the name of asserting my dominance.

A wave of guilt washes over me, threatening to drown me in its suffocating embrace. But even as I feel the weight of my actions bearing down on me, a part of me knew that I wasn’t wholly remorseful.

In this world of predators and prey, survival is paramount, and I have proven myself to be a formidable predator indeed.
