Chapter 52: Chapter 52
•A year later•
[Author's POV]
"How can you guys be watching football at this time when I need help in the kitchen?" Cassandra asked as she strode into the living room with a cooking spoon in her hand.
"No one asked you to cook. We told you we were gonna order in food but you blatantly refused, so whose fault is it?" Amsey, her husband, retorted.
"I feel like eating homemade food, is that a bad thing?" Cassandra yelled.
"Most women blush when their husbands order food instead of stressing them out by cooking, but you're just different," Amsey said, rolling his eyes.
"Of course, I have to be different. I'm pregnant, aren't I?" She retorted.
"When's our baby even coming?" Cameron suddenly asked.
"I guess it was yesterday or should be today, don't know. Now, back to you, my darling husband, I need help in the kitchen," She said.
"Don't fight it, dad. She's always going to win," Cameron said.
Amsey grumbled and placed the remote on the table and went to the kitchen, flashing his wife a stern look.
"And you, go upstairs and arrange your bedroom. Someone would think your room was a pigsty if they saw it," Cassandra said to her son.
Cameron grumbled like his father and walked upstairs.
Cassandra then went into the kitchen and stood in the doorway admiring the way her husband diced the chicken breast.
"Why are you staring at me?" Amsey asked, aware that his wife was standing there and watching him.
"Is it bad to stare at my own husband?" She asked, walking towards him.
"Of course not. You did well, getting married to a man this handsome," Amsey said.
"Stop flattering yourself," She said, running her fingers across his bare back.
He moaned, "You're good at what you do."
He dropped the knife and turned around, wrapping his arms around his wife's waist.
"You're more beautiful even with your protruded belly. You make me wanna impregnate you everyday," He said.
"You're so selfish. How can you say you want me to have unnecessary cravings and mood swings?" She retorted.
"Shhhh," He placed his hands on her lips.
"Where's Cameron?" He asked.
"Upstairs," She responded.
He tilted his head and crushed his lips on hers and she responded sweetly, groping his neck to keep her steady.
His hands slid up her thighs causing her to moan in the process. As one hand was smothering her backside, the other fondled with her breasts.
"Did I make you pee?" He asked, removing his lips from hers.
She chuckled, "My water just broke."

Amsterdam paced around the waiting room. He had pretended to be cool about the whole pregnancy and delivery stuff, but deep down, he was scared.
The last time, Cassandra's baby had died and Victoria had died.
He had wanted Cassandra to give birth through a Caesarean section but she had opted to deliver normally and he was really terrified.
Cameron, however, sat on the stool, playing his game, oblivious of his father's worries. After all, to him, it was just giving birth to a baby, what was hard about it?
The doctor arrived wearing a broad smile but that smile couldn't calm down Amsey's tensed nerves.
"Doctor, how's my wife? Is she fine?"
"Yes, your wife and baby are in perfect condition," The doctor disclosed.
Amsey's lips gave way to a huge smile as he thanked the doctor and God profusely.
"Hurray! Is my baby a boy or a girl?" Cameron asked, standing.
"It's a bouncing baby girl," The doctor said with a smile.
"Amazing! Can I see her?" Cameron asked.
"Of course," The doctor said.
Amsey and Cameron went to the ward where Cas was sitting, cradling her baby in her arms.
Cameron went and admired his little sister.
"Can I hold her?" He asked.
"Yes," Cassandra said and handed the newborn baby to her son.
Cameron held his little sister in his arms, smiling at her and making sure she didn't cry.
Amsey looked at his daughter with so much love and turned to his wife with admiration.
He sat beside her on the bed.
"You did it, I'm proud of you," He said and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"She looks like me which is fair since Cameron took everything from you," Cassandra said.
"I just hope she gets my attitude," Amsey said, arching his brows.
"What do we name her?" Cassandra asked.
"Since Cameron's name begins with the first two letters of your name, I think her name should begin with the first two letters of mine," Amsey replied.
"What do you think of Amhika?" Cassandra asked.
"It carries so much power. What does it mean?" Amsey asked.
"I heard it once in an Indian movie, it means "mother"," Cassandra responded.
"She reminds you of your mum, doesn't she?" He asked.
She nodded.
"Amhika it is then," Amsey agreed.
Amsey's phone beeped and he unlocked it, revealing an email he had just gotten.
"It's double joy today, Cas," Amsey said, smiling broadly.
"What happened? Did Rita finally agree to get pregnant instead of claiming it will ruin her stature?" Cassandra asked.
"Oh. Didn't you know Rita was pregnant?" Amsey asked.
"When? You didn't tell me," Cassandra said.
"Your dad informed me two weeks ago that she conceived and her agency wants to shoot all her pregnancy stages," He said.
"How come you didn't inform me? I"m super happy for them. And we talk all the time on the phone, she must be wondering why I haven't congratulated her. Have you told my dad that I've given birth? If you haven't, please, call him so I can say a big congratulations to him and his wife," Cassandra said.
"I will, immediately after I tell you this news," Amsey replied.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Cameron just got accepted into Moorland football academy. He's to resume in September," He said.
Cameron couldn't believe his ears and dropped little Amhika on his mother's laps, screaming excitedly.
"I have a little sister, I'm on my way to becoming a footballer, I have a father and mother. Life is beautiful," Cameron said.
"I think it's time to do that victory dance we've been practicing," Amsey said.
Amsey took his daughter in his arms for the first time and she stared at him while he pecked her on the cheeks.
"My wife's carbon copy," He said, smiling.
He began his victory dance with his baby in his arms and Cameron joined in. They looked weird but the most important thing is they were happy.
Tears of joy slid down Cassandra's face as she watched her son and husband dancing happily, celebrating the birth of Amhika and Cameron's admission.
Her life had begun with ups and downs but she had accepted her fate and didn't give up, and now, she could scream for joy because after so many hurdles along the way, her life was finally perfect.
.....In Shakespeare's words, "all's well that ends well."
THE END.
