BLAIRE WAS sitting in his office and trying to check some reports when his secretary called in.

“Sir, Leon is here.” His secretary said on the other line upon answering the call.

“Send him in.” He said and put aside the reports.

Leon removed his cap and sat in front of his table. “Report.” He said.

“Sir, she just did the usual thing that people going in the mall are doing. She shopped, played with Zack in the arcade and also ate with them.” He started.

Leon was his most trusted and reliable agent. He also works for the government that is why he has lots of connections. And he is really good at his work.

To be honest, he still doesn't trust Claire despite the attention that she was giving to their son when she got back. Yes, he can see some improvement in their relationship but he does not want to be complacent and the next thing he knows he is falling into one of her games again.

So, when he thought of Zack being happy with Claire's idea of going to the mall, he called Leon to spy on Claire.

“She shopped?” He asked, knotting her forehead.

“Yes sir, some clothes that were on sale and she bought a toy on sale as well for Zack.” Leon stated.

That caused him to think deeply. He thought that Claire will ask for money a while back, the usual thing that she’s been doing whenever she goes out since they married. He waited for her to ask, but until the time that they had to go she did not ask him even a single cent. However, she still handed a card to Nana Amy just in case.

But if Claire used that card, he should have gotten some message notifications about her transactions, which he did not. So Claire did not use his card but where did she get money? And she used to buy branded clothes and she would not dare to buy clothes that are on sale. Another thing is, she never thought of giving a present to Zack even during his birthdays.

He stood up and looked over the view in his office. He massaged his temple.

“What are you really up to this time Claire?” He asked himself.

“Did you notice something strange about her?” He asked Leon.

This is not the first time he asked him to spy on Claire. But It is the first time that he heard good things about his dear wife.

“Well, to be honest sir, she’s far from the previous Mrs. Castillejo that I have been spying on before.” Leon answered.

“What do you mean by that?” Blaire said, turning his head on him.

“It seems that she became a soft hearted sir. She treated everyone nicely and I can see her affection for your son.” Leon replied.

“And that is too good to be true right?” He wants his opinion about this.

“That I can’t tell sir. I still believe that no matter how bad a person is, he or she can still change and make up for the bad things he or she did. However there is also a possibility that this is just another game that she is playing on.”

“Exactly my thoughts Leon.” He sighed deeply. “If you are in my situation, what are you going to do?”

“I’ll say, give her a chance but do not lower your guard sir.” Leon said firmly.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” He said. “Thanks, my secretary will just send the payment on your account.”

Leon stood up. “Thank you sir.”

Blaire nodded. Leon was about to open the door when he turned his head to him.

“Sir, can I add something?” He asked for permission.

“Sure, what is it?” He asked, looking at him.

“I just noticed that Mrs. Castillejo is very much simple now, I mean the way she dresses and the way she looks.”

He pursed his lips together. He does not like the idea of another guy complimenting his wife, just like the way Leon complimented Claire.

Leon coughed upon seeing his reaction. “Of course what I mean sir, maybe after her accident she realized that life is short and who knows she’s trying to keep it low now.”

Yeah, he is thinking of that too. He nodded and Leon went out of his office. He sighed deeply and fell into deep thinking.

Apparently, he was able to notice that one too. The way Claire dresses now is kinda more of a conservative type. Very far from Claire before the accident. She is also more simple now, usually barefaced. The old Claire always wore makeup even when she was only in the house.

And what makes her look more beautiful and lovely now because she often smiles more now than before. He shook his head because of that thought. For all he knows, it was just one of Claire’s magnificent shows.

“But what if she is trying to change now?” Asked the small voice in his mind.

Then that is good for Zack.

“What about you?” The small voice continued asking.

That will be good for him as well. That will lessen his headaches actually.

“Maybe Leon was right. I need to give her a chance but be cautious as well.” He said to himself.

Then he pictured Claire smiling sweetly at him. Once again he shook his head.

“Why am I thinking of her?” He whispered.
