Chapter 70: Chapter 70
My wolf sounded pleased as she replied to me, 'Yes, he is and I will tear apart anyone that dares to take him away.'
'And I would love to help.'
She laughed in my mind and I laughed out loud too just as I reached the end of the stairs. I was brought out of my thoughts when Jared asked with a chuckle, "What are you laughing about, Kat? Or Has Sebastian, the bad boy CEO Alpha suddenly turned funny?"
I chuckled at his reference and nodded my head as he stood at the foot of the steps, "Well, Sebastian is kind of funny, maybe you just haven't noticed it yet and I was laughing at the conversation my wolf and I were having."
Realization flashed across his face as he nodded, "Ahh, yes, of course. Your wolf must be very funny and I was joking about the Sebastian part."
"I had no idea you were joking about that… and my wolf was just being her."
"That's some wolf you got."
I shrugged my shoulders and stepped off the last step, about to walk past him when he stopped me by saying, "Hey, Katie told me about what you said about Late Nate Bloomers. Do you really think that we might be mates?"
I stopped and turned to him with a grin, "You know that more than I do, Jared, but yes, I do think so."
Jared grinned back at me, looking pleased with my response, "Then you have given Katie and I hope. If we really do end up being mates, I would name my first pup's name Kat in honor of you."
I felt surprised at his words and I felt happy that he said that, "Really?"
He nodded, "Yeah, Katie supports that idea too."
"You must really like our Luna then, Jared." Sebastian's entrancing deep voice came from the top of the stairs as he made his way down.
We both turned to him and I noticed how he was wearing blue jeans with a peach top that hugged his tattooed muscular torso. His strong muscular arms were bulging against his short sleeves as his jeans hugged his hips very snuggly. His slightly curly hair rested against his forehead in a s*xy way and his perfect lips were parted; plump and s*xy. His alluring dark eyes were slightly heated as they captured mine.
I saw a look of slight jealousy pass through them as he moved his eyes away from mine to look between Jared and I. But he really had nothing to be jealous of since Jared had Katie and he wouldn't dare try to challenge His Alpha for me. Jared didn't show any sign that he noticed the jealous look on Sebastian's face and shrugged, "Yes, I do, especially since she told us about Late Mate Bloomers and giving us hope that we might be mates."
Sebastian reached the last step and came to stand beside me as a relieved smile touched his lips, "I'm glad that you're honoring my mate and our Luna, Jared."
He nodded, still grinning, "It's what she deserves."
"Yes, it is."
"Come on now, let's go have breakfast before you go meet those feral rogues." Jared suggested and we both nodded.
Sebastian took my hand in his and interlaced our fingers as he answered him, "Yeah, let's go."
"Okay." I replied to him, tightening my hand around his with a large grin as I stared at his very handsome face.
His smile widened on his plump, s*xy lips at my smile and the three of us started towards the hallway that led to the dining room. As we entered the dining room, we saw everyone already seated with plates of syrup coated pancakes and toasted sandwiches on the side. The food looked so yummy, we have never had the luxury of having both pancakes and sandwiches for breakfast, but this was Sebastian, a billionaire CEO who was also an Alpha Mafia Boss.
Everyone at the table stood up just as they would for a King since he was their King as an Alpha. They all chorused, "Morning, Alpha and Luna!"
"Morning." I said back to them in a small voice and most of them nodded back at me.
Sebastian smiled at them as he tugged me towards the head of the table. He raised his free hand as he said, "Morning, everyone, but you really don't have to be so formal. I've told you many times before that you don't need to stand up or greet me like that."
Beta Adam shrugged with a small smile on his serious face, "Yeah, we know, Sebastian, but that's what we want to do for you as the Alpha of our pack."
"Exactly." Connor added with a bounce of his brows.
Sebastian looked pleased and nodded, "Fine, if that's what you want."
He let go of my hand and sat down on his chair at the head while I sat down on his right, facing Adam. Beta Adam was next to sit down followed by Jared, Connor and Tucker before the rest of the pack sat down. I understood that it was the hierarchy in the werewolf community and it was in our DNA, our blood. We all started eating while discussing about our werewolf lives that we wouldn't want to talk about outside the pack where there was a threat of humans overhearing us.
After we were done with breakfast, Sebastian, Adam, Tucker and I walked out of the pack house. We have removed our clothes except for our elastic inners since we were going to shift. Sebastian glanced at Adam and Tucker, "Lead the way."
"Yes, Alpha." They answered him at the same time.
They shifted into their black wolves and Sebastian shifted into his gorgeous red wolf with its red fur shinning under the morning sun. It was such a breathtaking sight, especially since he was larger than any werewolf that I've ever seen. But I was soon pulled out of my daze when Sebastian nuzzled his snout against my chest, he was that tall as a wolf. I knew that he wanted me to shift too so that we could get going.
So I shifted into my hazel wolf and I saw a look of appreciation pass through his wolf's red eyes at seeing my wolf. He rubbed his snout against mine then slipped out his long wolf tongue to lick my snout. He turned around abruptly and grunted at Beta Adam and Tucker that were standing there, looking at us. The instantly sprang to action and started running towards the forest. Sebastian ran after them and I ran with him.
The morning air whip through my red fur as we ran through the forest and I smiled, enjoying the wind's sensation and just running in general. That must have been why running was very important to werewolves. We ran for around ten minutes before Beta Adam and Tucker came to a stop right behind a large tree. They shifted back into their human forms and Sebastian and I shifted back too.
"There they are, they look so pitiful." Beta Adam said, gesturing in front of the tree that we were standing behind.
A clearing was there with three small tents, four were sleeping outside on blankets with charred woods that have been used for fire the previous night and their back packs near them. I let out a sigh at seeing their situation, "I wonder what happened to them that made them turn out like this."
"Well, we'll find out now. Come on, let's go talk to them." Sebastian said as he glanced at me with a concerned look on his face before glancing at the other two.
"Okay." I replied just as Tucker nodded, and Beta Adam said, "Alright."
Sebastian walked out from behind the tree and into the clearing. I walked beside him while Beta Adam and Tucker followed behind us. As we neared the sleeping men, the crunch of dry leaves under our bare feet seemed to have stirred them awake. One of the with shoulder length brown hair and broad shoulders opened his eyes and shot up on his foot with his wolf fangs out, claws on his fingers and his eyes pitch black.
He growled as he looked at us, his chest heaving up and down, but as he looked at Sebastian, he seemed to realize that he was the Alpha wolf that scared them with his growl. A look of fear passed through his eyes and his eyes returned back to their original brown eyes. His fangs and claws retracted as his eyes bounced between us, "What do you want with us? Why have you come here?"
Sebastian raised his hand in a calming gesture, "Relax, jumpy. We're here because we realized that you need help."
The man shook his head, stubbornly, "We don't need help, we're fine on our own."
Sebastian crossed his arms as a look of disbelief crossed his features, "You need help. You're unstable, look at how jumpy you are. Don't you know that only a true blood Alpha can lead a pack? If you know that then why are you leading them to make both of you go insane?"
The man looked confused at his words, his head started shaking, "No, I- I didn't know that. It's not like I planned to lead them, but I had to. Our pack has always lived by traditions and we have never gone to the city where humans roam. So when our pack house got burn down with the Alpha, Luna and their baby in there, we had no choice, but to try and survive on our own. I only stepped in as the leader because I thought that we need someone to lead and make things coordinated."
Sebastian nodded in understanding as concern and sympathy shown on his face. He uncrossed his arm from against his chest and replied to him, "I understand your situation and I thought as much, but you can't keep staying like this or you will all lose it. That's why we came here, I want to ask you to join my pack since I'm a true blood Alpha and I have other packs under me too."
