Chapter 52: Chapter 52

I felt drawn to him as I stared into his alluring, dark eyes and wanted so much to run into his arms as my wolf urged me to.

But I knew that I couldn't do that now and that I had to concentrate on what were doing now. So I dragged my gaze away from him.

"I'll see you she you get back, cupcake." His velvety, deep voice made me look back at him to see an amused, yet longing smile tugging at his lips.

"Yeah, I'll see you then." I muttered to him, feeling a bit tense and turned around to walk out of the living room too.

As I entered the kitchen where we also had our dining table since we didn't have enough room for a dining room, I saw mom pulling out plates from the cupboard. So I walked over to the counter and picked them up. She glanced back at me as she said, "So how have you and Sebastian been doing?"

I looked at her as a smile fell on my lips at the though of my mate, "We have been doing great and he has even took me to meet his pack."

"That's wonderful, he's taking things more seriously than Cameron and that says a lot about him."

I nodded, excitedly, "Yeah and he is my mate, so he has to since we fell in love at first sight."

She looked at me with an amused look on her face, "Yes, but you know that in this modern day, some werewolves still reject their soul mates because they didn't believe in that or have already mated with someone else or they are planning to mate with someone else."

I started towards the dining table with the plates in hand and proceeded to place them in front of each seat as I said, "I know, mom, but Sebastian has never even had a girlfriend before because he was waiting to meet his mate. So he takes this seriously. Besides, even if you reject your mate, you can't leave a good life because you won't be at rest and your wolf would keep bringing you back to them once you've met them."

"That is true and that's why we should take the topic of mates seriously. Some could even die if their wolves aren't strong enough to stay away from their mates. So I'm very proud of both of you for taking this seriously. Even though I liked Cameron when you were dating, I was still worried that he wasn't your mate." Mom said as she also walked over to the dining table holding utensils and started arranging them beside the plates.

I looked over at her with a comforting smile, "I was too, but now, I have met my wonderful mate who takes care of me."

She smiled back at me while placing the utensils, "So what did he get for you as your gift?"

My smile widened into a grin and my excitement showed on my face as I answered her, "He brought me jewelry, a TV with a decoder, a microwave, another couch with two arm chairs, a carpet and a freezer. He noticed how my apartment barely had any stuff, so he decided to get me more."

She looked shocked as her mouth popped open and her eyes widened, "That's so much more than what Cameron has given you in five years! Sebastian must really care for you."

My grin stayed as I nodded, feeling proud to have him, "Yes, he does and I care a lot about him too. He's literally the dream mate."

Her shock wore off and she grinned, "I'm glad that he's taking care of you. I hope Vanessa meets someone like him too."

"I hope so too." My reply came as I turned to walk back to the kitchen area to grab the food flasks.

As I did, mom went in to grab the snack tray. Even though we weren't rich, we would always have a snack tray which mom would place her baked brownies or cupcakes or cookies on them. Today, they were red velvet cupcakes. As we placed the food and snacks on the table, we heard footsteps approaching.

We raised our heads to see Sebastian walking in with Polly and Penny on his strong, muscular shoulders as he held them there while Dad and Vanessa walked beside him. Mom smiled when her eyes met Dad's, "Good, you're all here. Everyone, grab a seat, but Polly and Penny, you would have to share a seat to give Sebastian a place to sit."

Penny pouted as she shook her head vigorously, "But I don't want to share, mom! I wanna sit like everyone!"

Mom let out a sigh, "You would just have to be patient for Sebastian and Kat, okay?"

Sebastian smiled at mom as he said, "It's fine, Penny can sit on my lap while we eat."

Penny hugged his neck as she squealed, "Yes! I wanna sit with Seb!"

Polly shook her head too and crossed her tiny arms against her chest, "I wanna sit with Seb too!"

I couldn't help, but giggle at how they were fighting over my mate. Sebastian's alluring dark eyes turned to me and our eyes clashed. I felt a magnetic pull tugging me towards him and I wondered if it was among of his powers to make me feel so pulled to him or maybe it was all because of our mate connection through our bond. It gets stronger once you are marked and then once you mate.

I dragged my hazel eyes away from his magnetic ones using my whole will power. I moved them to the twins on his shoulders as I said to them in a playful voice, "If you two don't stop fighting over my mate then I would be the one sitting with him and you can take my seat."

The two of them sobered up as they looked at me with innocent wide eyes and pouts on their mouths. Dad looked over at me with his eyes almost popping out of his skull as he walked over to his seat at the left head of the table. He shook his head, "You're not doing that in front of me, sweetheart. There's so much that a Dad can take."

Sebastian chuckle at the dramatics while Vanessa and I walked over to our seats beside dad and mom. He glanced over at Dad as he reassured him, "Nothing like that would be happening, Dad. Kat was only joking."

I laughed at how he came to my defense, feeling very loved by him, "Yeah, Dad. It was only a joke."

He let out a sigh and sat down, "Good, good."

Sebastian still looked amused as he walked over to the two seats opposite Vanessa and I. He took the twins down from his shoulder and mom called out to them, "Penny, come and sit on momma's lap. That way, Kat doesn't get jealous that you're sitting on her mate."

A blush rose on my cheeks and I looked at mom, "I'm not jealous, mom! I was only joking around!"

She shrugged her shoulders as Polly climbed onto the seat next to Sebastian while Penny walked to her with that pout still on her lips. Sebastian chuckled in his velvety, deep voice which sent delightful shivers through me. I looked over at him as I said in a teasing voice, "I'm glad that you're enjoying my embarrassment."

He shook hi head as his chuckle subsided and he sat down, "No, I just find you too cute and amusing, cupcake."

My cheeks flushed even further at his compliment and Penny's voice took my attention away from him as she said to me, "Will Kitty Kat let me sit with Seb after dinner?"

I felt my heart heart squeeze at how cite she looked and sounded and I smiled at her, "Yes, Penny, of course."

"Me too, Kitty Kat?" Polly asked, still pouting too as she stared at me, hopefully. She looked as cute as her twin and sounded just as cute too.

"Of course, Polly. You can play with him and everything."

"Yay!" Polly squealed, clapping her small hands. Penny saw that and squealed too, clapping her hands.

All of us chuckled at how cute they looked doing that and Dad said with a smile on his lips, "Okay, that's enough of playing around. Let's eat."

"Yes, daddy!" Polly and Penny answered him at the same time while I nodded along with Seth.

"Okay." Vanessa answered him and I looked at her to see her taking off her ear piece. That was when I realized that the reason that she has been so quiet was because she was wearing an earpiece. But even with that, she could have joined into the conversation. Something must have been going.

"You've been awfully quiet, V. Everything okay?" I asked her with a concerned look on my face.

She let out a sigh, "Just some boy troubles."

That seemed to bring Dad's attention to her and a shocked and worried look showed on his face as he shouted, "Boy troubles?! Which boy are you talking about? And you're too young to be having boyfriends. Besides, you should be waiting to meet your mate."

"Dad! I just want to experience the normal teenage life and date a bit before meeting my mate. But it didn't even work out, so now, I think that I would rather wait for my mate." Vanessa said in an exasperated voice.

Dad looked relieved at hearing the last part, "It's good that you're waiting."

"But Mason, she can have some dating experience if she wants. I also want her to wait for her mate, but having some experience would also help her." Mom reasoned with Dad as she opened the food flasks and started serving the food on Penny's plate first then Sebastian's.

Dad paused for a few seconds as if trying to think of what she was saying before he nodded, "Yeah, you're right. I'm just worried about you, Vanessa."

"I know, Dad and thanks for your concern." She answered him with a smile touching her lips.

I suddenly felt something touch my thighs and I jolted up then looked over in the direction I felt it coming from and saw Sebastian's s*xy, alluring dark eyes capture mine.
