Chapter 28: Chapter 28
Mia’s P.O.V
I was walking towards the cab that Lisa had called for me, but stopped to look at my broken phone.
“Hey, do you need help? I will take you to your cab.” A man said, I looked at him and he was standing right in front of me, smiling at me. He held my hand and put his arm around my waist, walking me towards the cab. I was having to walk slow to stop myself from tripping over and just as we reached the cab I looked back at the man.
“Thank you, I can go now.” I said and removed his hand from around my waist, I felt weird from his touch.
“Don't worry, I can come too. Lets go and I will keep you company.” The man said, making me look carefully at him. He did not look like a bad guy, but how could I go with him? What does he mean by company?
“No thanks, I will be alright.” I replied and opened the door to the cab, I was about to get inside when the man grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him.
“See you are too drunk, I am only saying this for your own good. You can not believe or trust the driver, right?” The man said, but I was not able to understand anything and I could not hear him clearly. I had drunk so much that as he asked me again, I just nodded my head without even thinking. The man smiled at me and I sat in the back seat of the cab, he was about to join me when one of his friends said something to him.
“Hey, best of luck for tonight!” One of his friends shouted to him and he just smirked and put his thumb up to them. He was just about to get in the cab when suddenly someone violently dragged him out by his shirt. I looked to see that the person was standing in front of the cab like a shield protecting something.
Jackson’s P.O.V
The man’s friends were standing next to their cars when they saw me and what I did. They were a fair distance away from me, but I could hear every word they were saying and I knew that they knew who I was.
“I think I have seen that man before.” One of his friends said to the other men and looked over at me, when one of the men's faces turned white as a sheet, it had clicked with him as to who I was.
“Fuck! He will kill him! Thats jackson Black! If our friend angers him then he will kill him, we have to get him out of there and away from him before he opens his mouth.” One of his friends said, making me smile on the inside at the reputation I had.
“What's your problem, brother?” The man asked me, making the mistake of opening his mouth. I looked at Mia and saw that she had her eyes closed, she had passed out and was sitting in an awkward position. I am just grateful that she was not wearing a short dress and was not aware of the position she was in. I looked back to the man who had dared to raise his voice to me and was instantly irritaterd by him.
“My problem is you, you fucker. How dare you touch her! Where do you think you are going with her?” I snapped, my voice deep and dangerous, as I pushed him back, trying to get the smell of alcohol away from me. I knew this fucker was drunk and he was about to fall over, but he managed to regain his balance. He was obviously scared of me, but he couldn't see straight with how much he had drunk and was squinting at me.
“Why do you care? I saw everything, she told you not to follow her!” the man said, talking back to me. I saw the scared looks on his friends faces and then saw my bodyguards walking over to me with their guns in their hands. His friends must have thought that he was going to die today, but I showed my palm to my guards and they immediately stopped in their tracks. I smirked evilly at the man and swung my leg back, kicking him in the stomach. I was annoyed by his words, but all he did was groan out and grab his stomach in pain. I kicked his stomach again and this time he fell down, so I placed my foot on his neck and pressed down.
“I care because I want to!"
"I want to follow her because I want to!"
" Do you understand?” I said, applying more pressure to his neck. My tone was both dangerous and angry, I looked down at the man and he was struggling for breath, his face was turning red and his eyes were bulging, but I did not care and I was not ready to let him go yet, he had pissed me off.
“Sir, please leave him. He is drunk and did not know about you. He's had that much to drink he did not recognise you. Please forgive our friend.” One of his friends said, as the others came running over to us. They all gulped when they looked at their friend and saw that he would die if I applied even more pressure.
“GUARDS!” I shouted and they came running over to me straight away. I removed my foot from the man's throat and kicked him again, his scream and coughing echoed through the parking lot. His friends backed away from my guards when they saw the guns that they were carrying and it was a good idea on their part.
“Throw all of them out of here! I do not want to see any of them ever again!” I ordered my guards and turned towards the cab. The door was still open and Mia was still unaware of everything that had happened, but the driver was. The driver would not look at me, he was sweating so much because he was so nervous and scared after seeing everything that I just did. I walked towards the cab and got inside, picking Mia's purse up and looking for her I.D card. I found it, read the address that was printed on it and tossed it to the driver.
“You know where to go now, right?” I asked and the driver quickly nodded his head, handing me back the I.D card without looking at me. The driver's hands were trembling and I do not think he expected to be driving me as well, so he hurried to start the cab and drive away.
I looked over at Mia and saw that the corners of her eyes had tears building up in them, even though she was unconscious she was still refusing to let her tears fall. I wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and brushed my hand across the smooth skin of her cheeks. I was looking at her lips and my heart was starting to beat faster, I stopped and tried to regain my self control.
I hated her face as it reminded me of bad memories I had tried to bury, but I could not leave her, my heart would not let me. I kept an eye on her when she was walking to the cab and when I saw that man approach her, holding her hand and her waist, it pissed me off. She would not accept my help, but she was quite willing to go with him and accept his help.
I could not stop myself and now as a result I was sitting beside her. I should be somewhere else, but I couldn't leave her to get in trouble even though she told me not to follow her. Mia started to stir next to me and slowly tried to open her eyes, she looked at me and saw that I was also looking at her. Her head was resting against the seat and her eyes were starting to close again.
“Why are you following me?” Mia asked, slowly closing her eyes and moving so that her head was now resting on my shoulder.
“I honestly don't know….” I replied and looked at her through the mirror.
