Isabella's pov:

When I woke up, I realised that I'm no longer in Mr Martinez's house and I'm in mine. I looked at the empty mattress beside me which Mr Martinez spreaded on the floor beside my mattress, he left in the middle of the night. I didn't even ask him if he got home.

I let out a sigh and got out of my bed and rolled up the mattress and kept it in the corner.

I took a bath and changed into my school uniform. I ate instant cup noodles which is my regular breakfast. I missed eating the chef's dishes at Mr Martinez's house. He would always surprise me with a new dish every morning since I liked his cooking very much. When I ate his dishes, I felt new and good. I came out of the house after taking my things to school. While I was looking at the door, I heard my phone ringing. I searched all my pockets and found the sound coming from inside the house. I opened the door and looked for my phone. I found it on my study table. Who called me early this morning? It was some landline number.

I dialled back and waited for them to pick up.

"I got a call from this number." Said when they answered the phone.

"Yes, I did make a call to you. I'm calling you from GU hospital. Your mom woke up from her temporary coma and was asking for you. Can you please come here?"

"Yeah! Yeah! I'll be there!"

When I heard that my mom woke up from her temporary coma, all my worries vanished in the air like nothing. All I want now is to see her. I want to see her. I closed the door and headed to the hospital as soon as I got the call.

In the hospital, I opened the door and walked in. My mother turned her head and looked at me while she was lying on the bed. When she saw me, she raised her hand, i rushed to her and held her hand and hugged her.

"Mom…"

She patted my head.

"Mom! You woke up!" I cried in her arms while she was hugging me back.

She tried to say something but she couldn't do it.

I asked the nurse, "What's wrong with her talking? Why wasn't she talking?"

The nurse gave some water to my mom while saying, "Her mouth would have dried since she was sleeping these days."

I sat beside my mom and asked the nurse, "Can I take my mom home?"

"I would advise you not to do that. Her body muscles need time to recover so it's better to stay in the hospital for a week."

I nodded and looked at my mom and smiled.

"Let's go home soon. Just hang in there for a week."

She smiled and pointed at my uniform.

"Oh, yeah. I was on the way to school. Ran over here as soon as I got the call."

She waved her hand like telling me to go to school.

"No, no. I'll take a leave today. I'll stay here with you."

She shook her and told me to go.

"But, I wanna stay here." And lied my head beside her.

She held my hand and patted my head and whispered, "Go to school."

I nodded hurriedly and left the hospital to go to the house.

In the school,

After telling my friends about my mom, I came with Evelyn to help her with some work in the teacher's office. While I was helping Evelyn with her work in the teacher's office, Ms Devlin called me, "Isabella, Can you come here please?"

I walked to her and asked, "What should I help you with, Ms Devlin?"

"Can you get me the assignments from your class?"

"Yes, mam."

I told Evelyn that I would be back and left the teacher's office.

After coming to my class, I walked to the teacher's table and took the assignments and started carrying them to the teacher's office.

While I was on the way to the teacher's office, Harry took some of the assignments from me saying, "I'll help you carry it."

"Oh, really? It's not that heavy by the way."

"It's fine."

He remained silent while we're on the way to the teacher's office. It looked unusual being silent like this.

"If you want to ask something, go on. I don't mind it. And, it feels weird when you are silent like this."

"How do you know Alexander Martinez?"

I thought he would ask this question last night but he waited for the whole night to ask me. Did he think like how Max thought about me?

"Why do you sound so interested?"

"I have to. You're my girlfriend so I have to be sure…"

Before he finished, I interrupted him by saying, "What did you just say? Girlfriend? Hahaha… I clearly remember that I didn't accept your proposal, right?"

"Whatever. How do you know about him? Answer me."

"What if I say it's a secret? What will you do then?"

He stopped from walking and stood in the hallway.

"Hey! What are you doing there? Bring me the assignments."

He gave a stare and walked towards me and took the remaining assignments from my hand and ran leaving me in the hallway. What's gotten into him? Since he took all the assignments, I think I have to return back to class now.

While I was on the way, suddenly Harry grabbed my hand and dragged me somewhere.

"Hey! What are you doing? Let go of my hand. Everyone's watching us. Let go of my hand."

He didn't listen to me and dragged me to an empty classroom and pushed me inside. I fell on the floor due to slippery sneakers. When I looked at him, he locked the door of the classroom.

"What are you doing? Why are you locking the door?"

I stood up and ran towards the door to open it but he held me and stopped me from opening the door.

I pushed him back and said, "What the hell is wrong with you?"

He didn't give a response and walked towards me. What is he trying to do? He had an angry face which scared me a little.

I began shouting for help and he rushed to me and closed my mouth to keep me silent. I mumbled when he was closing my mouth using his hands to shut me from screaming. I tried to take his hands away from my mouth but I couldn't so I bit him which made him move away from me.

I used up this chance and ran over to the door but slipped and fell down because he grabbed my leg to stop running. When I fell down, he took his stand and stood in front of me and said, "Don't move!"

He tied my hands together with his tie and rubbed his cheeks against mine.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because I'm a bully."

"Please, let me go."

"Then answer me properly, how do you know Alexander Martinez?"

"He's my new boss. I work for him."

"But it didn't look like it when he beat those guys for you. What relationship do you have with him? Come on, say it."

Someone broke the door and came in. It's Noah, Liam and my friends and some others. Sophia helped to take off the tie from my hands and said, "Are you alright?"

Liam and Noah started hitting Harry and some stopped them from fighting.

My friends took me to the infirmary whereas Harry went to the teacher's office. When I think about what happened yesterday, Harry wasn't mad at me during that time. He took me in when Mr Martinez was fighting with those guys. Something must have happened to make him this much angry, i know he's not the person to act like this. I don't think he did it intentionally. He's not like that. He's a good person.

After getting off from school, I walked on the way to the bus terminal.

I got a call from my mother's phone. Mom?

I answered the call and heard a lady's voice which I had never heard of. Is it another nurse who was working in the hospital?

"Who's it?"

"Go to the hospital and check if your mother is still there." And ended the call.

Hospital?

I rushed to the hospital and ran to the room where mom was admitted. When I opened the door to the room, the bed was empty.

I came out of the room and asked the nurse about my mother's whereabouts. They said someone came and took her with them. I shouted at them about being careless and said that my mother has no one other than me and asked with whom did they send my mother with. They didn't give a proper answer which made me get more mad.

I got a call from my mom's number.

"Where's my mother? What do you want with me?"

"Hold it. Come to the address." And ended the call.

I got a message with some address which I never heard of.

After some struggle, I got to the address they sent.

Some guards came and took me in and directed me the way inside the house while walking in front of me.

Looking at the place, being so big, having a guard at every turn, someone I knew who is rich, it should be Max!

I saw my mom being tied up to a chair with a plaster on her mouth. When I tried to, I ran over to her, one of the guards stopped me so I hit him in his face and ran over to my mom. I hugged her and asked, "Are you alright? Did they do anything to you?..."

"It looks like you love your mom very much."

It's the voice I heard on my mom's phone. I turned to look at who it was. I don't know her face. Who's she?

"Who are you? Why did you take my mom? Are you a loan shark?"

She sat in front of me on an expensive couch and said, "You don't recognise me. How sad. Well, let me introduce myself, I'm Olivia Rodriguez, president of Rodriguez corporation."

She's Ethan's mom! Does she know that Ethan and I are close? Did she take my mom in order to threaten me to know the whereabouts of Ethan? Did Ethan leave already?

"I think you know me now."

"What do you want with me?"

She let out a sigh and said, "What do I want with you? I don't want anything from you. But…" signalled to bring something to her.

A guard placed a file on her hand and backed away.

She took the file and turned the pages while saying, "I need a favour from you."

I knew it. She's talking about Ethan. I shouldn't say anything about him. Don't worry, Ethan. I got this!

She threw the file over to me and said to take a look. What file is this? I took the file and opened it. When I opened it, I saw pictures… pictures of Mr Martinez and myself being together. There were pictures of Mr Martinez hugging me. There were pictures of Mr Martinez being close to me. Those pictures looked like someone was spying on us from the beginning. When did they take this? Why did they take this?

"Do you love your mother?"

What is she trying to do?

"If you want her to be alive, I want you and your mother to be out of this country. If you don't want those pictures to go online, leave this state. Paparazzi are eager to know something about Alex. If they get this, think what will happen to him. Everyone will accuse him and state that he had an affair with a High-Schooler. His reputation will crumble and break down into pieces. Do you want that?"

If these pictures spreaded online, Mr Martinez's dignity will be gone in seconds like she said.

She threw me an envelope and continued, "Two million dollars in the envelope. Take the money and get out of this state along with your mother."

When I looked at my mother who was crying in front of me. What should I do now?

"Let's see if you listen to your mother."

The guy who was holding a knife near my mother's neck began to slide it slowly.

"No! Wait!"

My mother said while crying, "Take the money."

When she said those words, it struck my heart like lightning. I have to save my mom. Mr Martinez looked after me well, i shouldn't be the cause to bring him down so i took a decision.

I took the money and said, "I'll leave along with mom." And stood from the floor.

"That's good." And signalled the guy who took his knife away from my mom.

I ran over to my mom and cried into her embrace. She hugged me back and said, "Let's leave this place."

I nodded hurriedly to her.

Olivia said, "My guards will take you to the airport. Your things will be there. Have a safe journey." And left the place.

We were put in some room and got locked together inside the room.

I asked my mom while holding her hand, "Why aren't you asking me anything? Why are you being silent? Don't you want to know who they are? Don't you want to know why they are threatening us? They said that I'm having an affair with a guy. Don't you want to ask about that? Why are you being so silent?"

"You're in pain."

I snapped her hands away from me and said, "You never wanted to know about me, right? You never asked me about anything. You never asked me when I came late? You never asked me what I was doing on weekends. Do you really care about me?"

She wiped my tears and said, "Stay calm. Don't get mad."

"How can I be calm? That lady asked us to leave the state and you agreed with her. How can I be calm after being treated like that? You told me to take the money. Why are you so desperate for money?"

"Because I don't want to see you suffer."

"Don't lie! You wanted that money! That's it! After you started running after money, you totally forgot about me. You never came to my school. You never came to any of my matches. You abandoned me like your father did."

The door opened and someone walked in. He informed us that the car is ready to go to the airport.

I walked out of the room and followed him.

Mom asked me, "Where are you going?"

"Don't you know where I'm going? It is you who agreed to leave. Then, why are you asking me?" And continued walking behind me.

We got into the car they told us to. There was luggages inside the car. When I opened it, there were my clothes and my mom's.

After some time, we reached the airport. We got into the flight and got seated. I didn't even take a look at the tickets where we're going. Without knowing the destination, our journey started.
