The Past.

He kept on checking his phone and for the fifth time; there were no missed calls or texts from her. Worried so he called his best friend to find out what had happened.

"Hey buddy, what's up?” He said.

“Nothing much, you good old mate" He replied.

"Yeah. I can't reach Danni, is she over at your house?" He asked.

"Nope," he replied stressing the 'p' sound.

"You can call Stacie or Ruth, they may be together or something, you know those girls, how they do?" Louie stated.

“Thanks man, I'll see you later" He said.

Ezekiel dialed his sister's number and she picked u on the second ring. Quickly he asked her if Danni was with her.

“Yes, she's with me but Ruth is not here. I'll tell her you called and she'll call you, keep your mind calm.” He said.

His mind was at peace hearing his girlfriend was having a nice time with his sister.

He smiled. "That girl got me wrapped around her fingers, he muttered to himself.”

Inside his pocket his phone vibrated. Checking the caller ID, he smiled.

"Ni hao."

"Ni hao ma."

"Wo hen hao, ni ne?"

"Wo ye hen hao."

"Mama what's happening, you miss me already?" He asked.

"My son, I miss you everyday. Are you traveling down to China for the holiday?" his mother asked.

"Bu dui. I have plans with my friends, Stacie isn't coming home too." He responded.

"Okay son, stay safe. Wo ai ni." His mum said."Wo ye ai ni, mama." He bade farewell and hung up shoving the phone back into his pocket.
