Author's POV

The class was over and it’s lunch time. Cara decided to make her way to library instead of going to cafeteria in order to avoid running into Law.

She put her books in her bag and started making her way out of the class with Sapphire who tried convincing Cara to just forget about Law and have lunch with her but she didn’t press much, as she knows how troubling Law is being towards Cara.

As soon as Cara came out of class, she bumped into something or rather someone. She lost her balance but two strong arms held her in her place.

Her eyes met with the person and she quickly detached herself from him.

“Hey sweetheart” Law said.

“Oh, hi Law” Cara replied slowly.

“What are you doing here?” Sapphire asked irritated. She knows that Law is again going to pester Cara. She wants to help her friend but she is well aware that this guy Law is really stubborn, who doesn’t listen to anyone except his father.

“I missed my sweetheart. She didn’t come to cafeteria yesterday so today I came to escort her myself” Law replied but his eyes were glued to Cara’s face.

Cara clenched her fists tightly, she is a little pissed at this guy but she knows better than to mess with him.

She is scared of Law. She doesn’t know why is that but she is more scared of Law than Chase.

Yes, Chase is dangerous, anyone who have seen him face to face will agree on this but to her he seems more honest. His blank and cold expressions might not give what he is thinking but to her his eyes speak.

He seems more real than Law.

She can stare into those gray orbs and know that he isn’t always scream harm or danger.

In case of Law, he seems fake, like he isn’t what he shows to others. He seems like he have something more to him. His eyes are pool of mysteries and he gives off bad vibes to Cara.

Cara thinks that Law has some ulterior motives and he is approaching her to fulfill those.

Cara took in a deep breath and spoke, “I am sorry but I don’t have any appetite right now. You guys can go and enjoy your lunch”.

Saying this she turned around to leave but Law held her hand causing her to turn around as he said, “It’s okay if you don’t have an appetite. Just come with me. I want to talk to you about something”.

All amusement and playfulness was gone and he was all serious right now.

Cara tried pulling her hand out of his grip, not liking an unwanted touch on her body but he didn’t let her go and started dragging her out of there.

Sapphire followed them. Every student who was gathered around was staring at them.

After trying few more times Cara realized that Law is not going to let her hand go, so she gave up struggling and quietly followed him.

‘Don’t panic Cara’ she told herself.

They made their way to the table in the center of the cafeteria where all of Law’s friends were sitting. Law made Cara sit on the chair and sat down beside her.

She again tried pulling her hand out of his grip and this time he let her go. Sapphire sat on the empty chair beside Cara.

“What would you like to have?” Law asked her.

“I told you, I really don’t have appetite” Cara replied softly trying to control the anger that was building inside her because of him.

Law sighed, he was starting to lose his temper too because of her resistance. He is not used to girls rejecting him like this.

“What is it that you wanted to talk about?” Cara asked when Law just sat there staring at her face without saying anything.

“How do you know Chase? Why did he stop you in the locker room? What did he say?” Law asked. Cara frowned at his questions.

‘The news travelled fast. But why does he want to know?’

“I don’t know him and he didn’t say anything special in particular” she replied, though she didn’t have any reason to tell him.

He raised one of his brow and asked, “Really? Why would a guy who doesn’t know you would know your name and tell you to be alone with him in front of everyone?”

“See I don’t know why you want to know about it but if you really want to find out, you can go and talk with Chase” Cara replied calmly but she was now starting to lose her cool.

“Do you have something going on with him? Have you two f**ked each other” he asked and Cara’s fists clenched under the table.

Sapphire was about to meddle in but Cara spoke before her “Mind your words Law. You don’t have any right to talk to me like that and what I do with others is none of your business, you got….”

She was cut off when Law slammed his palm on the table in front of them. Cara flinched at the impact.

“This is my business” he gritted. “I think you forgot already but let me remind you what I told you on your first day in this college” he said getting up from the chair, pulling her up as well so that they were standing face to face.

His expressions were showing that he was pissed. He was holding her hand in a painfully tight grip. Cara was now scared because of the anger in his eyes, her teary eyes were wide open. Fear was trying to take control of her mind.

She tried pulling her hand out of his hold and he tightened his grip even more. She hissed in pain.

“You are off limits for everyone in here, because you are Mine. You got that? You. Are. Mine.” He growled at her face. His eyes darted to someone behind Cara and before she could anticipate his next move, he pulled her closer and smashed his lips on hers.

Her eyes widened even more and she tried pushing him away from herself but he didn’t let her go.

The whole cafeteria filled with surprised gasps. Few of Law’s friends were cheering but few were just staring at their friend with wide eyes.

Sapphire was just as shocked at first but she quickly came out of her trance and was about to stop Law but before she could do anything, Law was pulled away from Cara and was thrown on the floor.

“How dare you touch her?” Chase growled and the whole cafeteria went silent.

Chase was making his way to Cara’s classroom. It was not difficult for him to get her schedule from the database of main office in their college.

He was actually planning on leaving the campus after dealing with Ron in the locker room for what that f**ker did, but after his interaction with Cara earlier, he just wanted to see her one more time before leaving and maybe have lunch with her.

He smiled at his own thought and got a weird smirk from his friends in return.

He waited for the class to end. He went to the terrace with his friends. They has been teasing him continuously about how he has been smiling by himself every now and then.

Both John and George have been Chase's best friend almost since the first year of their high school but never for once they have seen him like this, and definitely not because of a girl.

Is he going crazy?

Well, he doesn’t know but whatever it is that he is feeling because of her, he has never felt before.

They were on their way when a girl with red hairs came and stood in front of them with two of her minions.

Both John and George stopped goofing around with one another. Their faces turned hard as they turned to look at Chase who was walking right behind them.

The red head smiled seductively at Chase and said, “Long time no see handsome”.

“What now Mia?” Chase asked in bored tone. He just gets irritated whenever he sees her. He has slept with her once in the past but after that she always comes back for more and that is against Chase’s rules.

He never sleeps with a girl twice, simply to not give any false hope to anyone. So that they remember, it was just a one night thing and most of them already know it before getting involved with him.

But this girl thinks that she is special and wants to get into his bed again. Chase doesn’t change his rules for anyone and it means Not a single f**king one.

He could have threatened her to stop bugging him and considering his image it would have worked just fine but he doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with Samuel who is her brother. The guy is good person who works with Chase.

“You know what I want Chase” she said walking up to him. She reached out and placed her palm over his chest seductively as she completed huskily, “Just one night and you will find out for yourself that we can be a thing, you know”.

‘This sl*t’ he thought.

The bell ringed and he cursed under his breath. He had to reach to Cara’s classroom before her class was over so that he doesn’t have to find her.

But because of this girl…

He took a step away from her and said, “If you are that desperate try going to other guys. There are many who will be willing to spare glance at your wide spread legs”.

Ignoring the anger on her face, yes she was angry 'not Hurt’ because she isn’t someone who gets affected by such comments, he side stepped and started walking away but she held his hand.

“Chase…” she was about to whine but her words died in her throat when he turned around to stare down at her in complete annoyance.

His eyes cold and he said in his emotionless deep voice, tilting his head towards her hand on his forearm, “If I were you, I wouldn’t dare do it”.

She instantly let him go and took a step away from him. He again turned around to walk away but her next words again stopped him in his track.

“Do you have something going on with that newbie. What’s her name again…. Ahh, Cara. Is that why you were alone with her in the locker room and why you are avoiding me?” she said folding her arms over her chest.

‘News really does travel fast, specially in Victoria University’.

He again faced her and saw a smirk plastered on her lips.

‘She really wants to mess with me’, he thought.

“It’s none of your business Mia. Why don’t you just go away with your minions and find someone else” George replied getting annoyed with her tricks but mainly because he saw the look on Chase’s face when she mentioned Cara.

George knows Chase never hurts women physically but at that moment he looked like he wanted to smash Mia’s head against something.

But Mia ignored George’s comment and continued, “If that is truth then I feel sad for you”.

“Shut the f**k up Mia and f**k off if you don’t want to end up like Ron” John warned but Mia didn’t pay attention.

“You might not know Chase because you don’t come to college that often but let me tell you this, that girl and Law are already together. The first thing she did as soon as she entered into this college was to seduce him, that b***h” she said.

The next moment she was pressed against the wall. Chase has pinned her against the wall, his grip tight around her throat. Not too tight to hurt her but tight enough to keep her in her place.

Mia gasped at the sudden attack by him and tried getting out of his grip but just one hard glare from him caused her to freeze in her place. Her eyes filled with fear as well as tears, as she swallowed.

“This is the first and last time you are talking about her like this. The next time I hear you calling her names... you are well aware what this Chase Adams can do. You understood?” he said in dangerously low tone.

She nodded her head quickly and he let her go and started walking in the direction of her class.

He is angry right now. Even the thought of her being with someone else infuriated him.

“I think she is lying Chase” John said.

“Did you dig information about her?” Chase asked still walking.

“I just know that she is a scholarship student and lives in the dorm. She is an orphan, I found out through the documents she submitted for admission. She is new in this town and doesn’t know anyone here. But after that you told me not to dig anymore so I stopped” John replied

Chase cursed under his breath. This is the first time that he is regretting not coming to the college.

His hands were balled to his side and he was already on the verge of losing it when his feet came to an abrupt halt.

He heard few students walking in the direction of the cafeteria, “Did you see how Law dragged that new girl to the cafeteria?”

“Yeah, I saw him waiting in front of her classroom” the other student said.

Chase started fuming. He just wanted to knock everything and everyone down right now.

“S**t” John cursed as he started walking behind Chase who now started storming in the direction of cafeteria. George and John shared the knowing look, worried about what their friend will do.

When they reached the cafeteria Chase’s eyes met with Law and the next moment Law pressed his lips against Cara’s. Both John and George’s eyes widened upon seeing the scene and their eyes fell on Chase at the same time.

If Chase was angry earlier, now he was raging. He strode towards them as he saw how Cara was struggling against Law. He pulled Law away from her body and his balled fist landed on Law’s jaw, causing him to fall on the floor with a thud.

Cara was relieved that someone pulled Law away from her but her eyes widened when her eyes fell on fuming Chase. She didn’t even realize that Chase has punched him until she saw Law’s busted lips.

“How dare you touch her?” he growled and she flinched at his tone.

Law smirked at Chase as he said, “Why can’t I touch her? Everyone knows here that she is mine, until I am done with her”. He glanced in direction of Cara before locking his eyes again with Chase.

The way Law was looking at Chase mockingly, Cara felt like he kissed her intentionally to show it to Chase. It was as if he wanted to piss him off. But she couldn’t ponder on the thought for long when she saw Chase has again punched Law on his face.

This was when her breath hitched and became uneven and her body started shivering. Her forehead, her palms started sweating as she looked around with her tear filled eyes to see if someone is going to stop Chase or not.

But everyone was standing glued to their places. Not even Law’s friends came forward to help him. Everyone was scared of Chase and that was clear on their faces.

Law stood on his place saying, “Why are you getting so worked up man? Because I kissed her?” he asked and threw punch towards Chase but he dodged it and kicked Law in his gut. He fell on the floor.

A low scream left Cara’s mouth but Chase didn’t notice it this time and straddled Law, grabbing his collars in his one hand and lifted his another one to punch him but his hand froze mid way when he heard Sapphire’s words.

“Oh my god Cara… what’s wrong with you?” Sapphire almost screamed in order to bring her back to her senses, catching everyone’s attention in the process. But Cara still didn’t respond and just stood there frozen, breathing heavily.

When she saw Cara’s trembling body, she tried shaking her friend but she was not responding to her words. It scared Sapphire.

Chase turned around and his eyes met with Cara’s scared ones. He let Law go and got up on his feet.

He noticed her condition and it was same as it was last time, when she saw him beating Max.

Is she scared of me? He thought and again his heart filled with pain.

Swallowing in the pain he took a small step in her direction and she stumbled back and whispered in barely audible voice, "No..." but he heard her,

“Cara…” he said softly but she just turned around and stormed out of there, causing him to freeze in his place and his heart to squeeze in pain.
