Chapter 67: Chapter 67
Chapter 67
As she ran out of the room all of a sudden without completing her statement, I attempted to go after her, but a sharp pain from the wound that was yet to heal struck in, and I ended up falling back to the bed, wincing in pain as I felt weak from head to toe.
It was late at night already and I should be sleeping, but it seemed like I had lost the ability to sleep, which made me sit at the edge of the bed thinking about the new and weird feelings that were growing in me for Sophia.
It was at that moment that she came into the room, and that really made me feel good and happy. She really came at the exact time I was thinking of her, making it a perfect moment.
But, what can I say about what she just told me now? All that Sophia had said just now sounded both confusing and scary, especially telling me that my father would be possessed by a demon and could kill me easily if I tried to stop him.
Oh gosh!
What is all this?
After letting out a deep breath, I lay flat on the bed, shuttling my eyes as I slowly drifted into sleep.
Sophia's POV
My eyes fluttered and opened, allowing the rays of the sun to radiate into my eyes, forcing a deep grunt from my lips as I spun and faced the other side of the bed. It was morning again and all that was filling my heart was anger, but it took a few seconds for the anger to vanish as I thought of my latest achievement.
My father will be really proud of me because of how smart I am. The Alpha has no idea what the heart demon can do to his life. After the demons use him to kill Lola, he will be triggered to open his secret room.
Once it is opened, his heart demon will leave his body, making him vulnerable and powerless. Only God knows what I plan to do to him. My father and I will show him what pain feels like.
A short chuckle slipped my lips as I thought of everything that happened last night between him and the demons. How I tricked him and got him into the grasp of the demon king without him knowing the danger about to strike him.
His craving for power had finally clouded his mind and would soon drown him in the ocean of sorrow, pain, and regret.
Right now, the almighty Alpha is no longer the same man everyone knows. He is now a tool for the demon king, and it won't take long before he begins to accept demons into the pack just as directed by the heart demon in him. It won't take long before he begins to kill anyone who opposes his orders.
The thought of what happened between Torian and I last night flashed through my mind, and all smiles vanished as I let out a loud hiss. Recalling how I spit out every secret to Torian really made my stomach grumble in irritation and shame.
I sat up and buried my face in my palm while wondering what really came over me. I suddenly lost my mind and got overwhelmed with some kind of tender feelings and attraction to him. It wasn't the first time I'd seen his face, but last night it appeared so different.
Every part of him piqued my interest and made me drool and desire him. Not just that, but I felt like accepting him into my life as my boyfriend. His voice was soothing and sweet to my ears. Not to talk about those eyes that seemed to see through my soul.
The last thing I want to feel in my life is love, as that would be the beginning of my downfall. Falling in love will destroy all my plans because it will make me feel bad for Torian. Once that happens, it is all over, and last night was so close to it.
I won't be able to avenge my mother's death because to torture and kill Alpha Darren,Torian's father, I only have to help the demons take over this pack, which will turn Torian into a slave forever, and he will have to watch me do all those cruel acts on his father, thereby breaking his heart and leaving him in deep sadness.
Why do I care?
I had never been concerned for anyone in this pack until last night. Just as if I was controlled by those strange feelings of love, I ended up telling Torian many things I never thought I would say out loud just to save him from being killed by his father. The most confusing part was that his pain from the wound I inflicted on him was touching my heart. I was feeling pity and regretting ever stabbing him.
Gosh!
"This can't just be love, right? It can't be!" I found myself yelling as I sprung up from the bed, walking over to the mirror hanging on the wall.
Staring at my reflection, my mind flashed back to that magical touch from Torian. It's not like that was the first time he had touched me in his life, but last night was totally different. I felt sensations which I had never felt before. It was like a string connected our souls and bound us together.
It felt like a mate bond, but I would be a fool to think of that. I will never have a mate, not to mention Torian, the son of a cruel man that killed my mother.
With a slow but steady pace, I head into the bathroom to clean up. I have to be with the Alpha in the palace as we are now on the same team.
*******
I had just finished bathing and was walking out into my room when I noticed the Alpha sitting on my bed, his head sagging to the ground, as if he was lost in thought.
"Hey!" I called, and he looked up sharply, both eyes glowing red like a lake of fire as he made a silent grunt.
"What is wrong with me?" He asked, peering straight into my face as if the answer to his question was written there.
"I don't understand." I frowned, and he sighed, gritting his teeth.
"I woke up this morning feeling so strange, and I can only remember you taking me out to meet the demon king, but whatever happened next, I can't recall. I don't even remember if I got to meet the demon king at all," he relayed in a frightened tone. There was this fear in his eyes.
The fear you get when you realize you have made a mistake that can never be reversed, even if you regret it. This is how it feels at the beginning, till you get used to it. He must have discovered that he no longer has complete power over himself. Something else had gotten the power to make him do things it wanted.
"How did you come in here? The door was locked" I inquired," and he exhaled heavily.
"That is how strange I had become. Something just whispered a spell to me, and the moment I repeated it, the door opened by itself. I have powers now, but I am sure there is something missing inside me. I don't even care about my son or Luna anymore, " He whined, and I couldn't help grinning at the sadness in his eyes.
This was just the beginning and he is already complaining. Soon, he will realize the destruction that surrounds him. The terror that will fall on him will be so great that he will pray for death and yet it won't come.
"With your powers, no one can bring you down. The next step is to start accepting demons in here secretly, and we also need to visit the vampires and expose Lola so she will be killed now that she has not been marked!" I snapped, and he nodded with a smile.
"Yes. You are right..." He giggled, standing and stretching himself.
"I can't wait to have those demons around me. I can't wait to kill Lola," he added while heading to the door. All I could do was laugh from behind.
But just as he was about to open the door and leave, Torian barged in at the same time, making them bump into each other, hitting their heads against each other.
"Oh Daddy, sorry, I didn't see you," Torian apologized while helping him up.
"It is nothing. Why are you here?" His father snapped, and I could see the surprise look on Torian's face.
"Daddy, please tell me Sophia was lying last night. Do you plan on visiting the vampire and exposing Lola so she will be killed?" Torian blurted, and I felt like ramming his head against the wall till he die. Why can't he keep his mouth shut?
"Oh yes, you have any problem with that?"
"Yes, Lola had left the pack just as we always wanted. Killing her isn't necessary! You can't do that!" Torian snarled, fuming as he glared at his father.
"I love your courage. Better use it for something else, because any attempt to stop anything I do will bring an end to your life" the Alpha warned sternly, and it made Torian glance at me. He must have remembered the warning I gave him.
"Dad, you know who I am?" Torian asked, and got the greatest shock of his life.
"I feel like killing you. Just say a few more words and I will fulfill this desire." Those were the next words he heard from the man who had loved him so much.
Horror filled his eyes as he flicked it from me to his father, who was patiently waiting for him to prove stubborn and say something. At that moment, I knew I had really saved Torian's life by warning him beforehand.
"You are lucky." Alpha Darren snorted and stomped out.
Tears fell from his eyes as he kept his gaze on me.
Once again, those hazel eyes made me lost. The pain in his eyes was piercing my heart that I felt bad again. Maybe I shouldn't have done that to his father? Maybe it was too cruel to lure the Alpha into being possessed by a heart demon.
