Chapter 53: Chapter 53

I quickly grabbed her hand to feel her skin, because it was so unreal to have her in front of my door at this moment. Even if she was able to hide her wolf scent, who was that girl I saw dead? There is no difference between her and Lola. Nothing to fish out as a difference, so maybe Lola's spirit is here to sooth me.

"Why are you just feeling my hand and letting me stand here, outside your room?" You don't love me again? Have you found another lover and don't want me back in your life? Is that so? " Her thin and melodious voice rang in my ears as I fixed my gaze on her face, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Are you real?" I asked, fluttering my eyes as my heart thudded so hard inside my chest. I was feeling fear building up in me. That fear makes it hard to think or say anything.

She is right here in front of me, but I fear so much that she will soon vanish. That is how it happens in movies when your deceased loved ones come to visit you. They always disappear in a cluster of and leave you more heartbroken than before.

"You don't believe I am alive?" She asked with that beautiful smile, which made my heart skip a beat, and like always, it made my heart flip. It also took away my breath as I admired how beautiful and adorable she appeared now.

"I know you are dead and just came to visit me to see how I am faring. I just beg you, don't vanish so early. Please spend more time with me..." I mumbled, sniffing back the tears welling up in my eyes, but she burst into a funny laugh.

I watched as she shoved herself inside the room and shut the door herself, yet I was still staring dumbfounded. She sneered at me and laughed again, walking over to the bed where she plopped down.

My gaze never left her; it tracked everything she did, as if I was looking for a sign that she was a ghost.

"You were expecting to die?" She asked, and this time a deep frown crossed her face, and I didn't know when I began to laugh as it began to dawn on me that the love of my life was really alive.

"You tricked them into killing someone else. Lola, you are fully alive and healthy!!!" I screamed at the top of my voice, and she gasped before chuckling.

"You don't care if everyone hears what you just said?" She raised her brows, but I wasn't listening to that anymore as I ran over to where she sat on the bed and pulled her up, hugging her tight as I felt that sweet sensation rush through me like a wave.

"I did it all for you, because I can't die after all your sacrifice." She sobbed while we hugged tighter, not minding that we were already finding it hard to breathe well.

No one was ready to break the hug. I was so overwhelmed that I feared she might be gone once I release her.

"Thank you for not dying. Thank you for being alive. I was planning on killing myself because life is meaningless without you. Now here you are. My breath of life is here finally!" I kept blabbering and stroking her hair while feeling our skin contact perform magic on me.

Sensations were pulling up the hairs on my skin with goosebumps all over. I was literally shivering in extreme excitement at the reality that I thought was a dream or an illusion.

You should see how I was running to come here and meet you; how my heart was racing faster than my footsteps. Blake, I just realized how attached we are. We are really meant to be together! " I could feel every emotion bursting inside her as she sobbed on my shoulder.

My emotions were like a bomb; it kept exploding and consuming me. I was laughing and crying at the same time as her alluring and intoxicating scent filled my nostrils, hypnotizing me and melting every part of me, assuring me that she was alive and well, implying that the girl who was murdered wasn't her.

"I want to kiss you," she whined with those soft and sexy tones that made me shudder as I gasped and broke the hug.

"I badly want to kiss you and feel every part of you. How did you do it? You must have gone through a lot to pull off that prank and make them kill the wrong person. I love you. And I can't smell any wolf scent from you, instead I can also detect a strong vampire scent." I kept speaking, as my heart hammered inside my chest while I stared dreamily at her lips.

"I will tell you all that happened later," she mumbled, and I held her chin, locking my lips deep into hers with both eyes closed. My hands roamed around her neck, down to her butt and every part of her body while I devoured her lips.

She moaned, and it was like a spark in my heart. I really missed her. The dead part of me suddenly began to come back to life.

Just then, a hard knock was heard on the door, and it made us break the kiss, cringing away as we both stared at the door, trying hard to catch and maintain our breath.

"Who is there?" I yelled as Lola hid behind me, wrapping her arm around my waist. There was just no need for her to be afraid because this time around, I don't mind using the last strength in me to kill anyone who tries to hurt her. Never will I let her be touched.

"You aren't asleep yet? Son, you know how important sleep is for your health. You haven't eaten anything for days and still won't give your body some moments of sleep. Why hurt yourself for a dead wolf?" My mother's voice was heard, and I couldn't help smiling while feeling Lola's hand around me while she leant her head on my shoulder.

"Why aren't you sleeping too? It is almost dawn and you keep coming to check on me. What about your health? Isn't it important? I tried yelling or saying those words with a harsh and unfriendly tone, but my voice failed me. It all came out cheerfully as I grinned happily at the fact that the love of my life is not dead.

There was a moment of silence. No reply from my mother, and it made me arch my brows, wondering if she had left already.

"Your voice was too soft and exuded excitement, which can be felt. You failed to hide it," Lola whispered into my ears, and it made me giggle silently while biting my lower lips, enjoying the pleasant feelings of her hot breath over my neck when she said those words.

I don't know, everything about her is so enticing.

"Son, can you open the door? You don't seem angry at me anymore. Your voice isn't as harsh anymore," I heard mom and Lola snicker silently as I grimaced and considered what to say next.

"Son, you must have gotten back to your senses. Now I am curious to see your face and hear you tell me you don't care about the wolf again," she chirped in excitement, forcing me to roll my eyes.

"Go back to your room. We will talk tomorrow." I sighed and her squeal of happiness was heard next.

"That's my son, whom I am proud of. I assure you that your vampire mate is close. You will find her soonest. I had even sent the wolf girl's body to her pack so they would be gripped with fear and know fully well that the vampires are stronger than they They've lost another to our wrath. " She screamed joyfully with intense satisfaction and a sense of victory.

"You did well. Go and sleep..." I added, and smiled on hearing her receding steps scurrying off.

But as soon as I spun to look into my beautiful queen's face, all smiles were gone as she was now staring at me with wet eyes filled with pain and fear.

"Lola, what is wrong?" I asked sharply, breathing heavily as I took her hand in mine and caressed her cheek with the other. The last thing I ever wanted to see in those eyes was sadness.

"My pack..." She mumbled and blinked, letting those tears fall on my hand, making me shiver as I gulped and squinted at her.

"What is wrong with your pack?" I asked curiously.

"They have confirmed I am dead with that lookalike of me. I am a hybrid and the only one that can help Sophia achieve her greatest desire. Jace is not safe anymore. My instinct had told me Sophia wouldn't kill Jace, so he would help her get me. But now that they think I am dead, I feel she will end his life," Lola whimpered, holding my hand firmly.

"Is that why you are crying? Stop. I will save Jace. I will sneak into that pack house immediately after it is dawn and help him escape and run to a faraway pack. I promise "

My words made her face brighten with a sweet smile as she ran into a heartwarming hug with me again.

"We will go together. I need to show him I am alive because he will be deeply hurt now and also bade him last farewell," she chirped.

"Whatever you want, just say it and I will do it." I muttered as everything else ceased to matter to me except her. If she requests I kill myself to make her happy, I won't hesitate.

"I love you so much. From the depth of my heart, I love you. I love you. I deeply love you!!!" She shrieked, tugging at my hair while I kept grinning with wet eyes of emotion.

"But you didn't even ask for your friend who kept me in his house?" She grimaced, and I scratched my head, realizing how much I had been carried away by the wild excitement of meeting her.

"Where is he? I had searched for him tirelessly to ask him about you, but he was nowhere to be found," I sighed, pulling back the strand of hair that was in front of her eyes.

"He is dead. He died while helping me leave unhurt, but he made me promise him one thing," she mumbled with a deep breath.

"What is that?" I asked sadly, feeling pained that my friend had to lose his life to keep his promise. Yes, I made him promise me that nothing would happen to Lola when I brought her to live with him.

"I don't really understand it. He said I should promise him never to leave you," she relayed, and I couldn't help snickering, even amidst sadness.

Justin was really a good friend, and it hurts that I can't repay him for his sacrifice.

"Tomorrow, I will introduce you as my personal maid. We will both have all the time in the world to be together! " He chirped and leapt like a kid who had just gotten his best toy. I couldn't hold back laughing.
