Nisan arrived home after a tedious day at work and planned to go straight to bed but on getting home, he’s faced with his father and stepmom.

He stopped in his track when he saw the both of them all dressed up and waiting for him in his room looking angry, knowing that they must have another complaint against him or how he’s handling the company, he closed the door and pull out the chair next to him then sat down in front of them

“how are you doing?” he asked and his father nodded while his stepmom ignored him

“is my brother sleep yet?” he asked again and his stepmom answered him aggressively

“why? Do you hope he’s dead so you can get everything that belongs to him!” she yelled while her husband held her hand to calm her down

“Am sure he doesn't mean it that way” he said

“what are you saying? He is obviously happy to take over everything that belongs to my son, if not why is it that the only question he asks about him is f he’s sleeping” she said directly her anger at her husband who in turn apology and held her to pacify her

Nisan was irritated at their drama and smirk annoyed, he waited for them to finish acting and tell him what this their drama is all about so he can have a peaceful sleep tonight

After throwing a tantrum and seeing that Nisan is not moved with her acting, his stepmom stopped and turned back her attention to him

“how was work today?” she suddenly asked and Nisan laugh out in disbelieve

“seriously?!” he thought

“am sure you are not in my room by this time of the night to ask about how work is’ he replied

“what happened between you and Jennie?” she asked going straight to the point seeing that her method wont work on him

Nisan keep quiet not answering her question, he could already guess the reason for this question, they probably need him to make her happy again so the company can get another investment from her father

“Am sure you understand things about Jennie, if your brother is not in this state because of the accident two years back then we wont have to bother you with this”

She said again and motion to his father to say the rest

“I will just cut the long discussion short, your marriage with Jennie has been fixed and we will be having your engagement ceremony in few days” he informed him and Nisan gave him a confused look

He has been told to only agree to be in a relationship with her instead of his brother and he has been doing that so what is this about a marriage

“what are you talking about?” he questioned

“I know we didn’t agree for you to get married to her but your brother is not improving at all and we cant keep their family waiting after all they’ve done for us” his father explained and continued after a few seconds of silence

“You and Jennie are a perfect match and to get married to her is your fortune so…” Nisan cut him off before he finish his words

“I don’t like her and am not going to marry her!” he declared to them and stood up angrily

“what do you mean you wont marry her? We are doing you a favour by allowing you to have another thing that belongs to your brother, do you know how painful it is for us to let you get into a relationship with Jennie?” his stepmom said and it sounds like a joke to his ears

“A favour?” he murmured angrily

“they are just using him and his brother for their selfish interest and to get more wealth for themselves knowing that Jennie is the only one that will own the whole of her father’s business in the future”

“can you leave my room, I need to rest” he said to put an end to their conversation knowing that arguing with them wont do him any good except giving him an headache

“we will leave but get prepared for your engagement in few days, I will send Mr Hams to give you other information about it” his father said and held his wife as they both leave the room and Nisan closed the door immediately they were out of sight

He walk tiredly to his bed and drop on it frustrated and close his eyes to sleep and forget all about the discussion tonight but then he remembered his brother and stood up from the bed to check on him in his room

He got to room and found out he’s not there and his wheelchair is also gone. He entered the bathroom to check if he’s there bit he isn't. Nisan went back to his room to get his phone and call him and walk downstairs as he dials his number

“Hello” he said when the call was picked but at the same time he noticed his brother sitting on his wheelchair in the sitting and cut the call then he walk closer to him and bent down in front of him and held one of his legs then start to massage it gently

“Why are you not in your room?” he questioned after a minute of massaging the first leg then took the other one to do the same

“Am tired of staying there” he answered shortly

“What did the doctor say again?” he asked. Austin bent a little and took Nisan's hand then he smiled and wheeled away towards the refrigerator

“what will you prefer?” he asked still smiling as he opened it and grab a bottle of wine for himself while waiting for Nisan to tell him what he prefers

“Same as yours” he told him, Austin nod his head and closed the door then told Nisan to grab two glass for them as he wheeled towards the dinning area and Nisan joined him with the glass in his hands

“I know you must be tired from working all day but just spare few minutes to drink with me tonight” he said and start to pour the drinks for them

Nisan agreed and took a glass, they both of them haven't really interact much because he was called back because of his condition and had to take a training immediately and even start managing the company with his help behind the scene.

The both of them start to drink in soliloquize not saying a word to each other till the bottle of wine is almost finished, Nisan noticed Austin drinking his more faster and dropped his glass but before he could speak Austin beat him to it

“Mom came to meet me earlier about you and Jennie. Why don’t you want to marry Jennie? She is a very good match for you” he started

“Because of that girl that came looking for you then, am sure you would have forgotten you”

“She hasn’t!” Nisan responded but Austin just gave a short smile

“You don’t understand women, they leave you over time and it doesn't take long for them to like someone else” he argued

“Am sure you are the one who doesn't understand your own feelings, to let someone else get engaged with a woman you love”

“Love? That’s not for someone like me who cant get up from this seat”

“Is that why you are going to let me get married to her without expressing your feelings properly to her” Nisan queried but Austin couldn’t reply him, he filled his glass up and about to drink but Nisan stopped him and took the drink away from him

“If you really don’t care then why are you here drinking?” he questioned

“If you don’t marry her our family will really be in trouble and also I don’t know if I will be able to ever get out of this chair”

“you will, I will make sure of that but before that am not getting married to Jennie” he told him determined and stood up

“I will help you to your room” he said not giving him a chance to object and start to help him upstairs, he got to his room and wait to tuck him into bed before leaving to retire to his own room
