Chapter 315: Chapter 315
He used to find life rather mundane, so he sought out Qi Lingfeng, knowing he was a rare Feng Shui Master. Therefore, he became his apprentice and followed him on adventures and treasure hunts. He found this kind of life particularly thrilling; it stimulated his spirituality, initiative, and vitality. But later, Qi Lingfeng was forced to return to the Qi Family and resume a normal life, which wasn’t the path Zi Yunsui wanted to pursue. He had no choice but to leave him. In the end, he decided to start a new life in the city with Hua Xiaomo.
He had to admit that he actually enjoyed new experiences, disliked too much ease, and possessed a strong sense of self-capability and personal values.
Hua Xiaomo eventually had to acknowledge these points as well; Zi Yunsui was indeed a young man with a strong personality. Moreover, living with him, Hua Xiaomo felt no pressure at all. She now found him to be a very comfortable roommate.
As Zi Yunsui spoke to Hua Xiaomo, he explained, "Plus, when creating game models, you yourself are a great character model."
"Ah, what? I don’t understand. How can you say I’m a game character?" Hua Xiaomo found it somewhat hard to grasp what he was saying, but it greatly piqued her interest.
She wasn’t someone who particularly enjoyed playing games, but for some reason, she suddenly became very interested in this. Perhaps she was inspired by the idea that gaming could connect to her profession, which fueled her enthusiasm!
"Yes, you can be a game character model yourself. Just put on the right costume, and you can cosplay various anime game characters. Then, we connect data cables to your limbs. As you dance and perform various movements, your entire form will be transformed into images on the computer. I have the right programming languages here, and everything will be recorded into the computer. This way, your digital character can do the work, saving a lot of time!" Zi Yunsui quickly and thoroughly explained his analysis.
Seeing Hua Xiaomo’s puzzled expression, he smiled. "Why don’t we give it a try? If you feel it’s suitable, we can continue to collaborate. How about that?"
"If you think it’s not suitable, then you can do your thing, and I’ll continue with my programming. If necessary, I can spend money to hire someone else to help me make the game models," Zi Yunsui said with a smile, not wanting to pressure her. He believed that people should do what they love. If you force yourself to do something you dislike, you probably won’t do it well.
"Okay, let’s try working together." Hua Xiaomo laughed, feeling as though she had once again found something meaningful to do.
「In the following days」
Hua Xiaomo no longer went to work outside but instead stayed in the apartment, designing various game characters. They also bought many props and costumes from Taobao, including some wigs. Hua Xiaomo would wear all sorts of wigs and outlandish outfits, performing character movements as if in a Wudang martial arts display, which looked quite amusing. Zi Yunsui connected long data cables from her limbs to the computer. Sure enough, before long, her entire character image appeared on the screen.
"It’s beautiful, really nice! Xiao Mo, you’re the best model for this," Zi Yunsui remarked, quickly typing a long string of programming data and entering it into the computer’s software.
"Stop teasing me! How am I the best character model? I’m just barely passable!" Hua Xiaomo laughed, looking at Zi Yunsui. "Oh, I don’t know if Candy is awake yet. I’m going to check on Candy."
"Go ahead. I’m just about to incorporate your character design into the game!" Zi Yunsui said with a laugh, then quickly continued with his programming.
Meanwhile, Hua Xiaomo didn’t take an outside job, which made it more convenient for her to care for Candy. The two of them rarely went out, spending most of their time in the apartment.
However, the number of deliveries had certainly increased. They always placed a bunch of orders at once, so the delivery person became very familiar with their address and constantly brought packages to their door.
「Some time passed in this way.」
Neither of them could clearly remember if it had been one month or two, but their tireless work was a certainty. After relentless effort, their game software was finally released.
"This game is finally done. Xiao Mo, you should name it!" Zi Yunsui looked at Hua Xiaomo, his voice filled with emotion. "This game is like our child; it truly moves me."
Hua Xiaomo couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing this, though she quickly regained her composure. "How about we call it ’Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry’?"
"’Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry’?" Zi Yunsui mused for a moment, considering the words "Purple Demon." "Purple from me, Demon from you... Not bad! Xiao Mo, you’re really talented!"
"Hehe, just so-so!" Hua Xiaomo said with a laugh. "Then let’s call it ’Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry’!"
"Okay!" Zi Yunsui smiled and said no more. It felt like it held a very special significance.
Indeed, "Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry" brought in good revenue on its first day of release. More importantly, they hadn’t sought outside investors for this game software; they funded it themselves. They had each put in half of the money. To put it simply, it was a joint investment; if successful, they would share the profits equally.
However, Zi Yunsui was always very generous when it came to Hua Xiaomo’s child, Candy. He was always the first to pay for anything Candy needed—formula, food, clothes—anything at all, Zi Yunsui was unstintingly generous.
Sometimes, Hua Xiaomo felt guilty and wanted to repay him.
Zi Yunsui would chuckle strangely. "Whether you repay me or not doesn’t really matter! After all, you live here, so you can’t escape. I’m not worried you’ll run away."
This made Hua Xiaomo feel a bit embarrassed. "Ah, so you’re not worried about me running away, but I’m worried about *you* leaving! If one day you weren’t living here anymore, I wouldn’t even know where to find you to repay you!"
"If you have spare money, just keep it for investing in future game development," Zi Yunsui said, then looked over the status of the game they had created.
This type of game had already been embedded onto a website, where players could register, purchase in-game items, and pay for various upgrades.
