Chapter 310: Chapter 310
Qi Lingfeng pulled her onto his lap. The next second, his gaze fixed on her face as he smiled and said, "Youya, you’re truly beautiful. You look just like Xiao Mo; you really do. We’ll be engaged in a few days. Are you happy?" Qi Lingfeng asked outright, an unusual sensation stirring in his heart.
A strange sensation also washed over Yuan Youya as the beautiful girl looked at him. "Lingfeng, of course I’m happy. Being able to marry you is the greatest happiness of my life."
Even if Youya felt a pang of discomfort, she was too smart to voice it. Deep down, I am determined to eradicate Hua Xiaomo from his very soul, she vowed silently. In the future, the only one by Qi Lingfeng’s side will be me, Yuan Youya!
"Then I will give you the greatest happiness," Qi Lingfeng said with a smile, looking at the girl. Ever since she had been with him, he’d found her to be an exceptionally intelligent woman. She always knew the right thing to say at the right time and never managed to displease him. Being with her was very comfortable.
"I’ve booked a private room upstairs. Shall we go up together?" Qi Lingfeng said with a smile to the woman beside him. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹·𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲·𝗻𝗲𝘁
"...Mhm," Yuan Youya murmured coyly. Qi Lingfeng then swept her into his arms, and together they headed towards the private room above the restaurant.
「In another city outside of City A—City B.」
Pain... An excruciating pain shot through her back, her heart feeling as if it were about to split open.
Hua Xiaomo truly felt that bone-crushing pain again, yet all she heard was the repeated command: "Again!"
Alas, is this the sorrow of being a stunt double?
Hua Xiaomo glanced towards Vickie. Dressed in an identical black, sharply styled outfit with a short haircut, Vickie was currently, with the help of a stylist, fussing over her incredibly precious fingernails.
"Are we done yet? When will this shoot ever end? Surely this stunt double can’t be *this* bad?" Vickie sneered, her gaze dripping with condescension.
"Vickie, please be patient a little longer. If we don’t get this action scene right, it will affect the quality of the entire film."
"Wait, wait, wait! How much longer do we have to wait? My time is incredibly valuable! Director, you figure it out. If she doesn’t nail it in the next ten minutes, either she leaves... or I do!" Vickie declared arrogantly. She stood up from her chair, arms crossed, her A-list celebrity aura intimidating everyone on set.
The director looked troubled as he watched the girl repeatedly fall. He shouted, "Can you do it or not?"
"Director, I can!" Hua Xiaomo stubbornly bit her lip and tossed her neat short hair. Ignoring the pain, she pushed herself up again.
When it was finally noon, Hua Xiaomo felt her back stiffening. She went to rest by a nearby wooden post. Remembering something, she pulled two movie tickets from her pocket.
Oscar’s new movie, "Ocean of Love Peril," had finally premiered. I’ve been looking forward to this for ages! she thought excitedly. Tomorrow night, I’ll drag Ya Ying along to see it.
Suddenly, someone patted her shoulder. "Hua Xiaomo, Vickie’s handbag was left on set. She’s at Haitian Villa. Could you take it to her?"
Are all big stars this high-maintenance? Does her stunt double really have to do *everything*?
Hua Xiaomo took the Chanel handbag. A decorative tag bearing Vickie’s signature hung prominently from it, looking quite distinctive.
Hua Xiaomo arrived at the gate of Haitian Villa. Before she could enter, a Lamborghini sports car suddenly sped up and stopped beside her. Its dazzling yellow color instantly caught her eye.
The man in the car, wearing sunglasses, glanced at her, his gaze lingering on the bag she was holding.
Vickie. That must be her, he surmised.
"Get in. Let’s talk," Li Chengjun said, his eyes behind the sunglasses exuding a hint of coldness.
"You..." Hua Xiaomo looked at the man, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
The man possessed a strikingly handsome, clean-shaven face. His sharply defined features exuded a subtle sensuality, while his thick eyebrows, high-bridged nose, and perfectly sculpted lips all proclaimed an air of nobility and elegance.
This man is incredibly handsome, Hua Xiaomo thought, and he sounds like he knows me. But if I knew such a rich, handsome guy, I definitely wouldn’t have forgotten him!
"Sir, do we know each other?" Hua Xiaomo looked at him, puzzled. Doubt clouded her pretty face, and her dark eyes darted about.
A faint smile touched Li Chengjun’s lips. "My time is precious," he stated calmly. "Regarding Oscar... I believe you’d be interested in knowing more, wouldn’t you?"
"Oscar?" Hua Xiaomo’s eyes lit up. He’s my idol!
Reacting quickly, she replied, "Okay, just a moment. I’ll drop off this bag and be right with you."
With that, Hua Xiaomo briskly walked to Haitian Villa’s entrance and rang the doorbell, but no one answered.
Huh? What’s going on? Didn’t they say she was in the villa?
Right, the keys! The keys must be in the bag.
Hua Xiaomo quickly fished a key out of an LV bag. Just as she unlocked and opened the main door, a force from behind pushed it wide open.
"Hey, how did you get in?" Hua Xiaomo exclaimed, startled, as she looked at the handsome man who had barged in.
He might be good-looking, but barging in is completely out of line! Besides, this is someone else’s house!
"And what if I did come in? Are you saying I’m not welcome?" Li Chengjun retorted, looking at her. He removed his sunglasses, a roguish smirk playing on his handsome face.
Hua Xiaomo was taken aback. Welcome?
She couldn’t dwell on it, her mind returning to what he’d said about Oscar.
"You just said... you know something about Oscar?" Hua Xiaomo cleared her throat and asked.
Li Chengjun smiled faintly but didn’t answer. His clear, dark eyes, glinting with a calm yet teasing light, swept over her as he started towards the second floor.
"Hey, you can’t go up there!" Hua Xiaomo quickly stepped forward, blocking his path.
This Li Chengjun is so annoying! Why does he insist on going upstairs?
I’ve never met such a rude person! This isn’t his house, so what right does he have to just waltz in, wander around, and even try to go upstairs whenever he feels like it? It’s infuriating!
Whatever his deal is, I’m just a stunt double delivering something. I absolutely cannot let this man just barge into someone else’s home. If anything goes missing, I’ll be the one to blame! Under no circumstances can I let him trespass .
"Hey! I told you not to go up! Didn’t you hear me? Are you deaf?" Hua Xiaomo exclaimed angrily. She had never met anyone so rude.
"What does it matter to you whether I go up or not? I really do need to go up this time," Li Chengjun replied with a smile.
