Chapter 300: Chapter 300
He’ll no longer be a thorn in Qi Longbing’s side, nor in mine... Hua Xiaomo smiled faintly. Perhaps for the Qi Family, I am truly powerless to step in—whether facing Qi Longbing or Qi Lingfeng.
"Then, the marriage between the two of you will be arranged by Grandfather personally once you both return. Lingfeng, what do you think?" Old Master Qi said, looking at his beloved grandson.
"Lingfeng will listen to whatever Grandfather says," Qi Lingfeng answered with a smile. When his gaze turned to Hua Xiaomo, he noticed that although she was smiling too, her smile was forced.
But regardless, having her accompany me has advantages for both of us, especially for her, Qi Lingfeng thought. I truly can’t bear to see her living under the dual pressures of Old Master Qi and the family anymore. She has suffered enough, and it has made her unlike herself.
"Hmm," Old Master Qi looked at Hua Xiaomo. "My precious grandson, I’m entrusting him to you. Take good care of him, Miss Hua."
"I will," Hua Xiaomo nodded. She didn’t want to say anything more at that moment.
The news of Hua Xiaomo preparing to accompany Qi Lingfeng abroad for medical treatment soon reached Qi Longbing’s ears.
At that time, in Qi Imperial Court, Qi Longbing was still sitting stern-faced on the Osaka chair, reviewing documents, when he heard the news brought by Qin Feng.
Without lifting his head, he said, "I’ll be very busy for a while. Don’t bother me anymore with trivial matters from now on."
His words carried a tone of irritation. It was the first time he had spoken so impolitely to Qin Feng.
"Yes. The main reason the Old Master sent me here wasn’t actually for this matter," Qin Feng said, looking at Qi Longbing. He probably won’t give up on Hua Xiaomo so easily.
Qi Longbing raised his head. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
Qi Longbing was visibly impatient, his exquisite face filled with irritation. As he looked at Qin Feng, his eyes darkened.
Heaven knows I’m in no mood to listen to this prattle, Qi Longbing thought. Especially since he’s acting as Old Master’s informant, it makes it even more difficult for me to remain in a good temper.
"The Old Master wanted to discuss your marriage to Miss Pan Yutong. He hopes that the Eldest Young Master will bring this matter to the agenda as soon as possible." After Qin Feng finished speaking, he glanced at him.
Qi Longbing responded expressionlessly, "I have no intention of marrying that woman."
Qin Feng looked at him, then said with some concern, "Eldest Young Master, you might want to reconsider! It’s not easy to explain this to Master Qi."
After finishing his statement, Qin Feng didn’t linger. He turned and quickly left Qi Longbing’s office.
Being the messenger between him and the Old Master is truly not easy, Qin Feng thought. On one hand, I have to fulfill the Old Master’s objectives wholeheartedly, and on the other, I can’t afford to offend the man at the helm of the Qi Family. This balancing act as the butler is certainly not simple! To outsiders, it might seem as though I’m reaping many benefits from the Qi Family. Only those truly involved could understand the feelings I have now. If Qi Longbing insists on not marrying Pan Yutong, then the collaboration between Qi Imperial Court and Warner World will be problematic. And that’s what the Old Master is most concerned about. Should there be a mistake, I, as the butler, will have to take full responsibility.
After watching Qin Feng leave, Qi Longbing felt a surge of anger simmering within him, with no way to vent it.
Just then, Yu Bao entered. "President Qi, you wanted to see me?"
"If someone betrayed you, how do you think you would treat them?" Qi Longbing looked at Yu Bao, his eyes shimmering with an enigmatic brilliance that was hard to grasp.
Yu Bao felt a tightness in his heart as he listened. It seems President Qi isn’t going to forget Hua Xiaomo easily. Moreover, Hua Xiaomo is about to marry his brother. This situation looks like it will be difficult to avoid in the future.
"President Qi, I have never encountered such a problem, so it’s hard to give an immediate answer."
"That’s true. How could something like that happen to you? It seems bad luck only ever finds me," Qi Longbing said. He then stood up, stuffed his hands into his pockets, and gazed out the window at the landscape. I remember it so clearly: me and my Xiao Mo, standing here, looking at this very landscape. How beautiful it felt back then... but now, everything has changed.
"President Qi, I think Miss Hua must be feeling terrible too," Yu Bao had just finished speaking when Qi Longbing glared at him.
"Feeling terrible, my ass! It was her own choice to marry Qi Lingfeng! Who forced her? She actually said that in front of Old Master Qi! She completely disregarded me!"
"This kind of woman is really asking for it!" Qi Longbing’s expression was frigid. His fists were clenched in his pockets, his gaze as sharp as a knife.
Yu Bao dared not continue and just watched as his face grew increasingly grim.
Qi Longbing walked out, leaving Qi Imperial Court, got into his Ferrari, and quickly drove off.
Qi Longbing was once again drowning his sorrows in an upscale bar. He didn’t know how much he had drunk; he only felt a bit dizzy.
When he came out, he bumped into someone.
"Who are you! Can’t you see where you’re going?" the person yelled. The rıghtful source is 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹•𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑒•𝙣𝙚𝙩
"So what if I can’t see where I’m going?" Qi Longbing slurred, his breath reeking of alcohol. His stunningly handsome face was set, his eyes cold.
Then he pulled out a stack of hundred RMB banknotes from his pocket and threw them at the man’s face.
"So I bumped into you? Even if I crippled you, I could afford to compensate!" Qi Longbing sneered. He then watched as the man’s eyes practically bulged, fixated on the money. He wasn’t focused on the man himself, but on the crisp banknotes fluttering to the ground.
Like someone who had never seen money before, the man quickly scrambled on the ground, frantically picking up the cash.
Soon, the bar erupted into chaos as many people rushed over, bending down to pick up the money, instantly disrupting the order.
Qi Longbing watched these people disgracefully scrambling for cash and sneered. "All a bunch of money-grubbing bastards! Money really is a splendid thing in this world. It seems nobody dislikes it!"
Amidst this, Qi Longbing seemed to grow even more frenzied. He grabbed a Gold Card from his hand and threw it into the air, but just as quickly, his other hand caught it again. "Whoever spends the night with me tonight, this card is theirs!"
Upon hearing this, the people in the bar surged towards him.
Countless voices clamored in his ears—men, women, even children!
Qi Longbing looked at those people, his handsome yet demonic face gleaming coldly. Money truly is a powerful thing, he thought. Looking at their ugly, greedy faces, he despised them from the bottom of his heart.
