Chapter 295: Chapter 295
Qi Longbing introduced her naturally, then looked at Wang Yuetcai. "President Wang, let’s go to that table and discuss our cooperation plan."
"Ha, discussing cooperation? Haha, sure, sure," Wang Yuetcai chuckled. However, what he really wanted to ask was, why wasn’t Miss Hua accompanying President Qi anymore? Why was she with President Qi’s younger brother instead? The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦•𝘯𝘦𝘵
Could it be that Qi Longbing had introduced Hua Xiaomo to his younger brother to be his girlfriend?
If that was the case, then this Miss Hua was truly impressive.
She had managed to capture the attention of both young masters of the Qi Family.
Soon, Qi Longbing and Wang Yuetcai were seated at another table not far from them, discussing business.
The hall was so quiet that every word Qi Longbing and the others said could be clearly heard by the two listeners at their table. Of course, their own conversation could also be heard by the others. However, since Qi Longbing’s arrival, the atmosphere at this table had become much more subdued.
Hua Xiaomo hadn’t spoken for a while. She didn’t believe for a second it was a coincidence.
She couldn’t understand why Qi Longbing was doing this. Hadn’t she told him she would handle this herself?
"Xiao Mo, you must come to the charity gala at Guanghua Hotel next week!" Qi Lingfeng said with a smile. It would have been fine if it were just the two of them in this overly Quite environment. But now, with an outsider unexpectedly present, the atmosphere had subtly changed.
"...Mmm," Hua Xiaomo responded, saying nothing more.
"Xiao Mo, you don’t have to do anything. Actually, being at the Qi family home or not doesn’t make much difference for me," Qi Lingfeng said, pouring her a glass of Chateau Lafite. "In the future, if you ever want to drink authentic Lafite, I’ll definitely go to France again for you."
Hua Xiaomo looked at him, her voice catching slightly. "Actually, there’s no need. The wine here is already very authentic."
Qi Lingfeng smiled and handed her the glass. As Hua Xiaomo reached out her slender hand to take it, Qi Lingfeng suddenly grasped her hand along with the glass, holding them firmly together.
Hua Xiaomo was startled and tried to pull her hand away, but she was a fraction too slow. Looking at his handsome face, she said somewhat awkwardly, "Please..."
"It’s no trouble at all, Xiao Mo. Just a trip to the Lafite Estate in France. You’ve been there before too, haven’t you? Years ago. You haven’t forgotten, have you?" Qi Lingfeng said with a smile, naturally releasing her hand.
Only then did Hua Xiaomo draw her hand, holding the glass, back. However, she didn’t answer his question.
"Besides, our footprints are all over the world. Xiao Mo, I’ll definitely take you to the Maldives for vacation often in the future," Qi Lingfeng said with a smile, a brilliant light like shining pearls reflected in his dark eyes.
Whether intentionally or not, he naturally brought up their shared past.
Hua Xiaomo looked at him. She’d never imagined the face behind the mask could be so strikingly handsome. But right now, she was in no mood to appreciate his looks; an uneasy feeling, as if she were sitting on pins and needles, settled over her.
Naturally, every word reached the ears of the man at the other table.
Listening to their conversation, Qi Longbing’s handsome face remained expressionless. It was almost impossible to tell what he was thinking, save for the enigmatic dark light glinting in his blue eyes.
"President Qi..." Wang Yuetcai, sitting opposite him, noticed his somewhat dark and cold expression and couldn’t help but ask with concern.
"Please continue, President Wang," Qi Longbing said, his lips curling into a chillingly gentle smile.
"Oh, alright. Regarding this cooperation proposal, I think..." Wang Yuetcai quickly began to speak with enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Qi Longbing remained silent, appearing to listen attentively. However, whether he was actually absorbing the grand blueprint of Wang Yuetcai’s plan was another question entirely.
At their table, Hua Xiaomo ate silently, while Qi Lingfeng was quite attentive, pouring her wine and serving her food.
Hua Xiaomo politely reciprocated with smiles, making it seem as if the two were getting along harmoniously.
Qi Longbing watched them, a dark glint deepening in his eyes, though his expression remained impassive. He leisurely lifted his slender hand, picked up the cup of bitter coffee before him, and took a slow sip.
The murmur of various conversations still drifted over incessantly.
Hua Xiaomo remained silent, anxious about how a certain someone might react if they overheard. This anxiety rendered her speechless, and she found herself becoming exceedingly cautious.
"Xiao Mo, are you not feeling well? Why are you so quiet?" Qi Lingfeng asked with concern. He rose from his seat and came to her side, naturally raising his hand to her forehead to check for a fever.
The instant he touched her, Hua Xiaomo quickly stood up, evading his hand. "I’m fine."
"That’s good," Qi Lingfeng said with a smile, returning to his seat.
After a moment, Hua Xiaomo looked at Qi Lingfeng. "I’m full. Please, you continue."
"What’s wrong? You ate so little. Is the food not to your liking?" Qi Lingfeng asked solicitously.
"No," Hua Xiaomo forced a smile and stood up. "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."
After his acknowledgment, Hua Xiaomo picked up her bag and quickly headed for the restroom.
Hua Xiaomo unexpectedly ran into Qi Longbing there.
"Ugh, why are you following me? It’s so annoying!" Hua Xiaomo said to Qi Longbing. She couldn’t believe he’d actually followed her to the ladies’ room; it was truly baffling.
"Hua Xiaomo, you promised me you’d make things clear with Qi Lingfeng. You haven’t forgotten, have you?" Qi Longbing said, his gaze fixed on her.
"Goodness, I know, I’ll make it clear to him. Don’t be so impatient," Hua Xiaomo replied, her expression turning a little awkward.
Just as Hua Xiaomo was about to leave the restroom, Qi Longbing grabbed her hand and swiftly led her out of the restaurant through the back exit.
Once they were outside, Qi Longbing released her hand. "Hua Xiaomo, I suddenly felt the air inside was a bit stuffy. How about we go sit in the coffee shop next door?"
Hua Xiaomo stared at him, momentarily stunned and unsure what to say. To be honest, she really wasn’t in the mood to stay in that restaurant any longer.
Facing Qi Lingfeng was just too awkward; she truly didn’t know what to say.
"Alright then, let’s go to the coffee shop next door for a bit. But we can’t stay too long; Qi Lingfeng is still waiting for me in the restaurant," Hua Xiaomo said, a somber light in her amber eyes.
Qi Longbing nodded with a smile, looking at her. "Don’t worry, Hua Xiaomo, it won’t be for long—just a cup of coffee. Let’s go. I found talking to that Wang Yuetcai incredibly dull. But listening to you and Qi Lingfeng was even more tedious, so I wanted to get you out of there. Come on, let’s just the two of us go for coffee."
Hua Xiaomo also smiled and said nothing more, walking with Qi Longbing toward the coffee shop next door.
