Chapter 147: Chapter 147
Finally, it was past midnight.
Yu Bao didn’t come in again to ask if she wanted to go back, and she didn’t say she wanted to return either.
This night was destined to be sleepless. The few people in the villa—Hua Xiaomo, Yu Bao, and Aunt Wang—had not fallen asleep.
"Child, I made some late-night snacks. Eat a bit," Aunt Wang said, bringing over a bowl.
"Thank you, Aunt Wang, but I can’t eat," Hua Xiaomo forced a smile and curled up on the sofa again, losing track of time as she sat.
It wasn’t until past two in the morning that the roar of a speeding vehicle suddenly echoed from a distance. The beautiful black Ferrari, like a black whirlwind, swept into the villa.
Yu Bao’s eyes lit up—it was President Qi’s car!
However, the person in the driver’s seat wasn’t President Qi himself, but a middle-aged man. Yu Bao recognized him. It was Qin Feng, Old Master Qi’s close attendant, the Qi Family’s butler, and Old Master Qi’s most trusted confidant. They also called him Uncle Qin.
Moreover, Old Master Qi had long ago given him one percent of his Qi Family shares, a testament to Uncle Qin’s significant position in the Qi Family.
Qin Feng drove the car into the villa and then helped the thoroughly drunk Qi Longbing out from the back seat.
Yu Bao and Aunt Wang quickly rushed forward. Yu Bao supported Qi Longbing’s other arm, but before he could speak, Qin Feng immediately reprimanded sternly, "How are you taking care of the Young Master? He’s in a bad mood, and you still let him go out drinking? If the bar owner hadn’t been an acquaintance who called me, you’d all be fired if Old Master Qi finds out about this!"
"Yes, yes, Uncle Qin, your scolding is justified," Yu Bao said repeatedly, his forehead instantly breaking out in sweat.
He hadn’t expected President Qi to go to a bar alone; those places were rife with unsavory characters. If another incident like the "Paris Night" occurred, he would truly be finished.
Suddenly, a low voice slurred, "Go back... I want to go back..." Qi Longbing mumbled drunkenly, his entire face flushed.
"I initially didn’t want to bring the Young Master back, but he kept repeating that. Alright, I’m leaving him in your care. I don’t want to see anything happen again." After Uncle Qin finished speaking, he released his hold and quickly left the villa.
Hua Xiaomo had already stood up, watching Yu Bao carry the drunken Qi Longbing on his back.
"He went out to drink?" Hua Xiaomo frowned, her pretty face falling. It seemed she had waited in vain tonight.
What was there to say to him in his inebriated state?
Suddenly, Qi Longbing, his eyes hazy with drink, raised his head and said with a roguish smile, "Xiao Mo... You haven’t left yet?"
Hua Xiaomo was taken aback by his gaze. He can still speak to me clearly?
"...I was waiting for you to come back!" Hua Xiaomo managed to say, forcing a smile onto her face.
"HMPH..." A cold laugh rumbled in Qi Longbing’s chest. His eyelids drooped as he glanced at her and drawled, "If you have the guts and sincerity, come to my room... Tonight... don’t even think about leaving!"
"..." Hua Xiaomo looked at him, silent for a long while, but then that pallor once again spread across her beautiful face.
Yu Bao quickly carried Qi Longbing upstairs. At this moment, Aunt Wang gave Hua Xiaomo a nudge, whispering softly, "Child, President Qi is giving you an opportunity! Seize it, and there will be no problems tomorrow. But, you must not upset him again, you know?"
Hua Xiaomo listened, her eyes rolling. An opportunity for me? I feel like I’m going to faint! This is killing me!
She didn’t know if there would be trouble tomorrow, but she had a strong feeling she was in for it tonight!
Damn it, she really, truly, one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, one hundred million percent did not want to go to his room and ’accompany’ him!
She could imagine what would happen in there even with her eyes closed.
But she was absolutely certain he wasn’t the man she wanted. So how could she give herself to him in such a bewildered state?
But if... if it could be used as a bargaining chip to save both herself and Brother Long, would it be worth it?
Hua Xiaomo wanted to laugh, but she couldn’t.
"Hurry now! President Qi is already upstairs. You can take this towel and wipe his face..." Aunt Wang said, quickly handing her the damp towel.
Then Aunt Wang grasped her elbow, as if afraid Hua Xiaomo wouldn’t understand, and whispered discreetly, "Don’t be afraid. A woman’s first time hurts a little, but it’s not unbearable, and it’ll pass quickly... Trust Aunt Wang. And take this sobering soup up with you!"
Hua Xiaomo finally couldn’t help but laugh. She looked at Aunt Wang, who was usually so kind. She’s truly one of Qi Longbing’s people! Just like his own mother—everything she says is for his benefit!
It was as if she, Hua Xiaomo, would be letting down everyone in this villa if she didn’t genuinely give herself to him?
Fine, fine, she understood. She’d been forced into a corner. She would agree. She would give herself to him, do whatever he wanted, go along with his wishes. Surely that would be enough?
"Thank you for the reminder, Aunt Wang," Hua Xiaomo replied with a smile, taking the bowl of sobering soup. Her gaze lowered, partially concealing the redness rimming her moist eyes.
Her heart was bleeding, but she was so numb she’d almost forgotten the sensation. Still, she knew she had to face this with a smile. No matter what, she couldn’t let anyone look down on her!
"Trust me, President Qi is someone worth cherishing." Aunt Wang sighed, pity filling her eyes as she watched Hua Xiaomo struggle to maintain her smile.
"I know." Hua Xiaomo felt a pang in her heart but said nothing more. She turned, took the towel, and ascended the stairs.
「The second-floor room.」
After Yu Bao laid Qi Longbing down on the bed, he left the room, just in time to encounter the person who was about to enter.
"Hua Xiaomo, President Qi is in your care now," Yu Bao said, looking at her. Her exquisite face showed little emotion, though it was still rather pale.
Hua Xiaomo didn’t say anything, just managed a nod, then slipped past him into the room.
The moment the door softly clicked shut, the faint sound seemed to send a shiver through her soul. But she quickly composed herself, set down the sobering soup, and approached the man on the bed, towel in hand. Follow current novᴇls on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⚫𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⚫𝘯𝘦𝘵
Hua Xiaomo looked at him. His eyes were closed, his exceptionally handsome face still showing traces of alcohol, and he appeared to have already fallen into a drunken sleep.
Hua Xiaomo held the towel, hesitated for a moment, then finally placed it on the side table, staring blankly at some ornament in the room.
The room was very quiet; it seemed only the sound of breathing could be heard now.
Suddenly, the man on the bed stirred slightly. "Xiao Mo..." he murmured, his lips tightly pursed.
