Chapter 12: Chapter 12

“Ruby, I thought I asked you to do the necessary things," Landon said and turned his head to look at Ruby. "I would show her to the kitchen, Sir. I wanted her to sign the contract first before going further." Ruby responded, and Landon sighed. "Sign the papers," Landon said, and Kim walked back to where they were.

She took the pamphlet and didn't bother to read the instructions or whatever was written in it. She got to the place she was to sign and she picked up the pen and signed on it. She did the same thing till she got to the end of the pamphlet. "Can you please show me the Kitchen now?" Kim asked, looking at Ruby. Ruby uttered no words but began to walk. Kim looked at Landon and saw he wasn't even looking at her.

She stood up and began to follow behind Ruby. Landon raised his head as soon as Kimberly stood up, and he stared at her backside. "Why is she so beautiful, but so annoying?" He thought as he gazed fixedly at her. Kim felt Landon's eyes on her backside and she looked back to find him staring at her.

Immediately he saw he was caught, he looked away quickly acting like he wasn't looking. Kimberly rolled her eyes and entered the door that Ruby entered. As she stepped into the kitchen, her mouth fell open. "Why would just a person own a kitchen that looks like a palace?" She questioned herself. "I know you haven't used any expensive equipment in your goddamn life, so please be careful with them. Just a mug can buy your apartment." Ruby said giggling and walked out of the kitchen afterward.

A drop of tear rolled down Kimberly's eye immediately she heard those words come out of Ruby's mouth. She couldn't blame her because she was the one at fault. If she had come out with a good grade and secured a job, Ruby wouldn't just open her mouth and spit out nonsense. She wiped the tears off her face and began to look for where the coffee was.

She opened the fridge and saw the coffee jar with "Taster's Choice" written on it. "So he loves my kind of coffee too." She thought, carrying the jar out of the fridge. She sighted the coffee maker next to her, and she smiled. "I can't wait to make this.“.

"Boss, do you want me to do anything before I take my leave?" Ruby asked Landon, and he raised his head to look at her. "Are you tired of staying here?" He teased, and she shook her head. "No Sir." She responded. "You can go. You have done your part." He declared, and she nodded walking away. She got a little far from him and then paused.

Landon noticed this and stared at her wondering why? "Boss, can I ask you something?" Ruby asked, looking at Landon. Something was troubling her and she knew she had to spit it out. "What's that?" Landon asked with his gaze still fixed on her. "Why her?" She asked, and Landon creased his eyebrows.

"What are you talking about?" Landon asked, pretending not to understand what she meant. "Why did you pick Kimberly out of all the participants?" She further asked, feeling very jealous. "And when did you start questioning my authority?" He asked, and she swallowed hard, keeping mute. "Good night Ruby," Landon said, facing his phone. She nodded reluctantly walking out of the mansion.

"No matter who Kim is to Landon, I would never be a fan of her. She is just so full of herself." Ruby thought storming away. The kitchen door opened and Kimberly walked out of it carrying a tray in her hand. On the tray, there was a mug cup that had Landon's picture on it. It happened to be Landon's best mug cup. She placed the tray on the table in front of Landon with a smile on her face.

"I thought you would love the cup, so I decided to use it." She said, and Landon kept a straight face. He reached for the cup and moved it to his mouth. Kimberly stared anxiously as he took his first sip. A smile crept on her face and all of a sudden, Landon spat out the coffee right on her uniform. "What the h..." She yelled and then looked at her body in anger.

"Are you dumb? didn't you read the pamphlet before signing?" He asked in anger, and Kim crinkled her brows. "What's in it? The procedure to make coffee?" She asked, and Landon sprang up. "Why would you put so much sugar and milk in my coffee! That's one of the first things emphasized in the pamphlets!" He yelled in anger, and Kim shivered fearfully. She had not seen him that angry before.

Landon's face turned red, and Kimberly began to shiver seriously. "Mr. Landon, are you okay?" She asked as he began to cough. "Stay away from me." He muttered, walking away from her, and she stared at him as he did. She quickly reached for the pamphlet on the table and began to glance through. Then she saw the first rules on the front page she had signed earlier.

She read out to herself; "Mr. Landon doesn't take sugar and excess milk. He is allergic to it." She read in astonishment. She knew she should have read through but she was just too lazy to do so. "Mr. Landon, are you okay?" She said taking the same path he took. She felt bad about it because she was at fault. She walked down the corridor not knowing exactly where Landon was.

"Mr. Landon?" She called again and just then she heard him cough behind the door next to her. "Mr. Landon, what can I get you to ease your pain?" She asked fearfully, placing her ear on the door. "Go away." He said In a cold tone. She wanted to say sorry but then she remembered she doesn't say sorry even though she is at fault.

"Should I go away? Okay. I would go and read the rest of the rules." She said with her ears still against the door.

She was about to stand upright when Landon opened the door all of a sudden, making her lose her balance. She staggered into the room, and Landon moved away and she fell on the floor hitting her head slightly. "Ouch! why didn't you grab me?!" She asked, rubbing the side of her head with her palm. Landon kept mute, staring at her in outrage. Kimberly raised her head to look at him and she saw his face wasn't red anymore.

"Get out." He muttered, and Kim rolled her eyes. "I was leaving when you opened the door. It's not my fault." She mumbled, standing up and dusting her uniform. She walked to the door and then Landon stopped her by speaking up. "You should be punished for what you did today." He said, and Kimberly looked at him. "Why? Because of a slight mistake? I wanted to help but you pushed me away." She said frowning.

"Are you still trying to put the blame on me! you almost killed me!" Landon yelled, and Kimberly swallowed hard. "Thank heavens you didn't die." She responded. Landon couldn't measure the anger that was building inside of him. "Why can't you just apologize?" He thought still glaring at her cute but annoying face. "Leave." He said with his jaw clenched. "Thank you." She replied with a smile on her face. She walked out of the room and Landon held his hair sighing.

"You should fire her." His brain told him.

"No, I can't. She can't suffer if she isn't in this mansion. I would break those wings of hers myself. She would regret working as my maid." He cursed underneath his breath, shutting his door.
