Chapter 95: Chapter 95
Andrea placed her suitcase inside the trunk of the car and then closed it before Sean emerged and took the twins by the arms.
"Please take good care of your mother, and don't worry her too much for me," he gently instructed the twins, kissing both of them on the cheek.
Andrea smiled sweetly as she listened to him, then stood on her tiptoe and kissed him lightly on the lips, saying, "You should also take care of yourself."
"Promise me again that you will be back before the event," Sean said, handing over the twins to Agnes before wrapping his arms around his wife's waist.
"I promise you, I will be back in the morning on the very day of your event. Sean, it's just two nights, and I will be back. Don't miss me too much," she kissed him again before leaving his embrace.
Elena and Jace, who were watching them both from the car, were urging Andrea to hurry up before they missed their flights.
Andrea waved at him and got into the car. Sean could only watch as their Audi A8 drove out of the villa.
They spent the next several hours flying to Australia to see Lachlan, who claims to be dying. They only arrived at Elena's place at 11:00 p.m.
"Ruby and Pearl are so exhausted," Elena said in a coquettish manner as she gazed at their little faces sleeping in Andrea's arms.
"I will take them upstairs," Andrea said quietly.
Andrea gently opened the door to her room, and nothing had changed since she left. She smiled, recalling memories she had had during her time staying with Elena. She carefully placed them on the bed and FaceTimed Sean before going to bed.
"Hey, baby, Missing me already?"
Andrea giggled softly. "I think it's the other way around, Mr. Wilson. Just look at you; you didn't even let it ring for a sec before answering the call. You are so desperate to talk to me, darling.
"Fine, you win. Where are my princesses?"
She turned the camera to a sleeping Pearl and Ruby beside her. "Ruby and Pearl are also exhausted from the flight. They are sleeping for the fourth time today." Andrea couldn't help but chuckle as she spoke.
"Mhm, you got my little princesses tired already. I miss them very much," Sean said, placing his phone on the nightstand while getting changed.
Andrea blushed deeply as she discreetly glanced at his groin area, but Sean quickly covered himself with his pants and caught her trying to look away, earning a smug grin from him as he teased, "You little vixen!"
She pouted her lip cutely. "It's not my fault that I'm missing little Sean. Too bad I can only see it through the phone.
"You are such a bad girl; I will spank that little butt of yours when you get back."
"It's not little, Mr. Wilson. Be honest with your words. By the way, how is the preparation for the event coming up so far?"
"Everything is going according to plan," Sean said with enthusiasm before adding, "I can't wait to see you again soon, my love. You must be exhausted; I should let you go to sleep now. I love you very much." He leaned in to kiss the screen of his phone.
Andrea felt butterflies creeping at the pit of her stomach. "I love you even more. Goodnight," she said, also kissing her screen before hanging up.
.....
Elena woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs as she descended from the stairs, all dressed up for work. " Wow! Mom. You woke up early and decided to make breakfast for us," Elena giddily teased Andrea with a smile.
"I just thought I should make breakfast, especially for you since it's your first day back at work." Andrea dished out a plate of eggs and bacon with a cup of coffee, placing it on the dining table.
"Where are Jace and Agnes?" Elena asked, looking around the quiet house.
"Oh, Jace didn't sleep here; he spent the night at Sean's apartment, and as for Agnes, she's getting the twins cleaned up."
"Oh," she mouthed, nodding her head in understanding before lowering her gaze to the table, prepared to devour her breakfast.
"So will you reveal to Lachlan Graham that you are not his biological daughter, or would you prefer to keep this a secret like you did with your marriage and fail to inform the Jones that you are the daughter they have been searching for?" Elena added ketchup to her meal while rolling her eyes skeptically.
She nodded in response, and Elena let out a sarcastic laugh. "You are really out of your mind, Andrea. Why don't you turn yourself invisible? Then you can keep that a secret too."
"Lena, how do you expect me to tell a man who is on his sick bed dying that his old lover Christina had wanted to deceive him for his riches and I'm not his biological daughter?" This time Andrea rolled her eyes at Elena.
Elena thought for a while and nodded her head in understanding. "You are right anyway, you don't want to let the world know you are Sean Wilson's wife, one of the youngest billionaires in America and the heir to the Wilson's that is worth a fortune, plus you are the daughter of a billionaire, and your elder brother is the owner of JJ Entertainment, the biggest one in the whole of America, worth billions of dollars."
Andrea sighed deeply before saying, "You see the reason why I don't want anyone to know?" She lifted her shoulder in a half shrug. "It's just too much; trust me, once everyone finds out, they will hate me so much for having such an impressive background."
"Just remember one thing: Your identity cannot remain hidden forever; Sean will eventually reveal that you are his wife, and Jacob is still searching for his sister by conducting investigations."
She bit her lip, realizing Elena was indeed making sense. "What do I do? How did I get caught up in this mess? All I wanted was a very simple lifestyle, and now all this" She sat down on the chair, palming her face in frustration.
" Mess?" Elena repeated it with a scoff. "I would indeed love to get entangled in this billion-dollar kind of mess," she said, taking a sip from her coffee.
Elena glanced at her wristwatch and abruptly got up to her feet. " I need to get going now," she said, hugging her tightly. "Take good care of yourself and the twins," she reminded, grabbing her bag on the couch before leaving.
As Elena stepped out of the elevator, her smile faded away as she remembered returning Ryan's car to him and having to take a cab to work once again. She encouraged herself, reminding herself that she couldn't let Ryan bring her down just because of a car.
Her smile returned as she hailed a taxi and prepared herself to face any challenges that life might throw at her.
However, everything changed in an instant as Elena stepped foot into the hospital and caught sight of Justin, dressed in black pants and a blue long sleeve shirt beneath his white labcoat, walking towards her with a dashing smile.
"Wow! Long time, no see, Elena! You know, since the time you ran away from home like a coward, I thought you were dead, but here you are alive, breathing, and now a nurse," he said, his smile filled with mockery.
Elena's eyes filled with tears as memories of five years ago came flooding back. She managed to compose herself and replied, "I'm sure you must be shocked to see me successful, and I know you are hurting deep down like I wanted."
She just wanted to get far away from him, fearing she might break down and lose her face in front of a scumbag like Justin. She glared at him barely and attempted to walk away; at that moment, she felt his hand clutch her wrist.
"I'm not finished with you," he said. "You know I've always been the one in charge, even back then in bed. After I've satisfied myself, I tell you to leave. And when I want more, I spread your legs and do whatever I want with you. You'll always be my puppet, Lena, either when you were poor and helpless or now independent and successful," he whispered into her ear, sending shivers down her spine.
"You may have called the shots back then, but get it straight into your brain. I'm no longer that timid Elena you used to know."
She retorted, struggling to free herself from his grasp. Suddenly, Justin released her wrist, and she immediately sensed someone approaching. She quickly wiped away her tears as Nurse Alexa appeared with a smile.
Alexa pulled her into a firm hug. "Head nurse, I miss you so much." She broke the hug, noticing the presence of Justin. "Oh, you two met already, Doctor Justin; this is head nurse Elena, and head nurse Elena, this is the new doctor of the orthopedic department."
Her heart sank as those words left Alexa's lips; it was more of a nightmare come true for her. "How could she work at the same place with the person who ruined her life and took her innocence?"
Elena quickened her pace as she left the hospital, needing to get away from the overwhelming emotions that threatened to consume her. She stopped only when she was far enough away to catch her breath.
The memories flooded back, vivid and painful. "Spread those legs, you bitch!" The heavy slap across her face and the way he pinned her hands above her head, using his other free hand to spread her legs wide open, were stuck in her mind like a nightmare.
She remembered how he teased her intimate areas, explored every part of her body, pulled off her clothes powerfully, and forced his way inside of her, snatching the only shred of dignity she had left. Elena recalled all the times she cried and begged him for mercy every time he came to her room at night to get intimate with her.
Elena clenched her fist tightly. "No, I can't do this. I can't work here with my rapist." She burst into tears, unworried about her environment. The feeling of defeat and weakness clouded her like it did five years ago, hurting her ego like hell.
......
Andrea and Jace finally arrived at the public hospital, where Lachlan was admitted. After inquiring at the reception desk, they were directed to the upper floor.
As they reached the third floor and stepped out of the elevator, Andrea had a feeling of unease. Jace gave her a weak smile before pushing open the door to Lachlan's room.
They met the almighty Lachlan Graham lying on the bed with an oxygen mask, and beside his bed was a patient monitor.
Andrea instantly felt like it had been a decade since she last saw him. He looked thin and pale as he stared at them both. The room was filled with awkward silence, and only the beeping sound coming from the monitor could be heard.
Lachlan, who was wearing an oxygen mask, suddenly removed it and asked, 'Where is Naomi?' in a hoarse voice."
"She didn't come. It's just me and Andrea," Jace quickly replied, looking worried about him as he sat down on a stool close to the bed.
He attempted to speak, but instead began coughing violently. His gaze fell on Andrea for the first time ever; it was soft.
"Andrea, I'm very sorry for mistreating you. I know I won't survive, and that's the reason I demanded to see you so I could apologize to you in person. Please, I want you to forgive me," he pleaded weakly, and he began to cough again.
Although his words weren't clear, someone could easily make out what he was saying.
Andrea stared at him in a daze; she couldn't help but recall how Lachlan took good care of all of his kids except her; he only let her in in order to use her as a pawn to elevate his business. She didn't realize she was crying until a tear fell from her eye.
Recalling all those memories made her old wounds begin to resurface.
"I'm so sorry, Andrea. If only I could go back in time, I'd happily make it up to you. Please forgive me," a tear trickled down to the corner of Lachlan's eyes.
Jace, who was holding onto Lachlan's hand, turned to Andrea with pleading eyes, wanting her to forgive his father.
"I'm sorry, I can't. It's just too much." She whimpered softly and rushed out of the room, not paying attention to Jace, who was calling after her.
As Andrea walked out of the hospital in a daze, someone tapped her from behind. She turned around and muttered faintly, "Lisa!"
