Chapter 91: Chapter 91
"Cheers to peace of mind," Elena declared, raising her glass of orange juice and clinking it against Andrea's.
"Cheers!" Andrea replied with a bright, giddy smile. "Finally, she's gone. I thought this day would never come, Lena."
Elena chuckled. "I know, right? She clearly hates your presence and guts. I still can't believe you said all that stuff in front of Sean's mother just so you could get rid of her. If only she knew her son also wanted her out of the house. Too bad she's oblivious."
Andrea laughed as well.
"You don't have to feel sad about her behavior towards you. You did nothing wrong; remember, it's her loss, not yours."
Her phone on the table in front of her began to ring. Glancing at the caller's ID, a smile appeared on Andrea's face. She got up and walked a bit away from Lena before picking up.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Andrea initiated the conversation before Sean could speak up.
"Just got out from a meeting. I called to check up on you and the twins and, of course, to make sure your phone have been delivered to you"
"Thank you, but you shouldn't have bothered getting me a new one. I would have gone shopping with Lena; I know you have a lot of work to do, and the last thing I want is to be an extra burden on you.”
"I really don't mind. Just let me take care of you, and I would love it if you troubled me even more." Sean said it nonchalantly, like he was discussing the climate.
Andrea's cheeks grew hot as she gently bit on her lip. "Mr. Wilson, I love you." She mumbled coquettishly.
Sean chuckled faintly. "Baby, I love you more than you can imagine. I have to get back to work now. Make sure you get dressed before I'm back; dad is ill, and we should pay him a visit."
"Ah! Dad is ill." Andrea repeated it in surprise. She had thought Mrs. Wilson only said that as an excuse to leave the house earlier.
"Yes, I will be home at 7 p.m. sharp." Sean said, and she could hear him speaking to someone from the other end. "See you soon," he said to her on the phone before it got disconnected.
Andrea walked back to where she was seated earlier with Elena, settling back on the chair with a loud sigh. "It turns out Sean's father is really ill."
Elena nodded her head, and the place suddenly fell silent. "Andrea, will you tell me already?"
At first, Andrea had a puzzled smile on her face, wondering what Elena was broaching. Only then did it suddenly hit her: the possibility of Elena knowing something else besides Sean's father being ill.
She snorted out loud in response to Elena's question. "Actually, I accidentally found out that Lachlan and Christina aren't my biological parents," she said with a bitter smile.
Elena's eyes widened in surprise as Andrea continued narrating the entire incident that led to this discovery. "I should have braced myself and told you immediately that I found out that I have no biological parents." Andrea let out a sour laugh at how pathetic her condition was as she wiped her tears from the corners of her eyes.
"It's okay; it isn't your fault," Elena said empathetically as tears welled up in her eyes too in response to Andrea's confession. "So what now? Does Sean or your aunt know who your biological parents are?"
"My instincts tell me Sean knows something; ever since the incident, he has never spoken or brought back the discussion," Andrea explained with uncertainty in her voice as she tried to make sense of everything that had happened recently.
"You should tell him you are okay with the idea of knowing your biological parents or even finding them," Elena suggested kindly as she held Andrea's hands tightly for support during this difficult time for her best friend.
"Ever since I found out, anytime I think about the possibility of them not ever trying to look for me or even probably forgetting about me, it makes me scared," Andrea admitted truthfully as tears streamed down her cheeks once again while trying to find some comfort in Elena's presence during this emotional turmoil.
Elena held her hands as she said, 'You have every right to know."
...
After feeding the twins, Andrea glanced at the wall clock and realized she had less than 10 minutes to get dressed. She quickly freshened up and wore blue jeans, a white tank top, and a nude beige jacket. She brushed her black, inky-like hair that cascaded over her shoulders before applying her red lip tint from Chanel.
Her phone screen suddenly brightened, accompanied by the sound of her ringtone. Andrea's eyes peered at her phone kept on the nightstand, and she glanced at the caller ID with a roll of her eyes. She picked up reluctantly, trying to sound dry and nonchalant at the same time.
"Hello," she said.
"May, it's me, your Aunt Tessa," the voice replied.
"I'm more than aware. What do you want?" Andrea asked straight away, with no hints of emotion in her voice.
"Andrea, I'm really sorry for keeping this a secret. I was hoping you would come to my place so we could both talk things out while I make your favorite desserts."
"I don't feel like speaking to you. There's no sort of explanation there to cover up the fact that you lied and betrayed my trust all these years." Andrea's voice began to waver as those words left her mouth.
Andrea drew in deep breaths, trying to relax her nerves before saying, "I will hang up now."
"May, wait. Don't you want to know more about your biological parents? Don't you want to meet them and let them know you are alive? It's all left to you, Andrea. I won't force you." She spoke quietly.
Her eyes closed for a brief moment as she roughly raked her fingers into her hair. "Alright, I will come see you tomorrow," she said and hung up.
Sean came from behind and wrapped his arms around her, relaxing his face at the crook of her neck and making use of the moment to inhale her scent. "Why are you being so rude to your aunt? She's sorry and wants you two to talk things through while having your favorite desserts together," he smiled and placed a kiss on her neck.
Andrea turned around to face him, her expression turning severe. "Sean, have you found out who my biological parents are?" she demanded with pleading eyes.
Her heart beat picked up its pace as he nodded his head hesitantly. "Yes, I already found out who your biological parents are," he admitted, his voice laced with concern.
She stared into his eyes before taking his hand. "I would like to know every single detail about them." She found her breath stuck in her throat as those words flew from her mouth.
Sean sighed heavily as he led her to the couch, where they both sat down. His gaze was tender as he spoke in a low voice, "I would have loved to tell you, but I think your aunt deserves every right to explain everything to you herself."
With a scoff, Andrea took his palm from her cheek. "We should get going," she mumbled, getting up to her feet.
"Come on, don't misunderstand me. I'm just trying to repair your bond with your aunt; no matter the circumstances, don't forget that she has always been there for you, even though it wasn't her obligation.
Andrea understood where he was hinting; after all, if Tessa had wanted, she would have dumped her in an orphanage considering her age and monetary situation at that time. Reasoning about it made her extremely grateful for Tessa's presence in her life.
"I understand. Thank you for everything, for being here for me, loving me just the way I am," she said sincerely as she gazed up at him lovingly.
Sean pulled her to his lap, placing his chin on her shoulder. "I should be the one thanking you, Andrea. You and the twins brought immense joy into my life the one I thought I would never experience. Thank you so much for marrying and accepting me into your life."
Andrea titled her head, and Sean snatched the opportunity and kissed her on the lips till they were both breathless.
"Let's get going," Andrea reminded him as she got off his thigh, trying to calm her rapid breaths.
"Right," he said, giving her a smile and kissing her on the cheek.

On their way back from visiting Sean's parents, he suddenly pulled over at a convenience store near their house, earning himself a quizzical look from Andrea.
"Why did you stop here?" She demanded queerly with her eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at him. Her gaze was so intense, as if she were trying to unravel all of his thoughts.
Sean chuckled lightly as he unbuckled his seat belt and leaned over towards her before whispering, "I forgot to buy condoms while coming home from work."
A bright shade of red crept up her cheeks as Sean's warm breath caressed her face. "Oh, but you know that I only said those things to make mom leave," she said, her voice barely audible.
"We really did run out of condoms, silly! Stay here while I go buy," he kissed her lips before getting out of the car.
After Sean left the car, Andrea gazed out of the window in silence as she took in the beauty of the streetlights that lined this route. This was the first time she had taken a proper look at the place, as during the day it was commonly congested with lots of people, mostly because it's the path to the subway.
She blew out her cheeks and decided to come out of the car. "What is taking Sean so long?" She thought this to herself inwardly, with her gaze glued to the entrance of the store he had gone into earlier.
"Andrea!" A familiar voice suddenly called out to her.
