Chapter 88: Chapter 88

The elevator made a ding sound, signaling that Sean had reached the ground floor. He promptly stepped out, and his phone began to ring. He retrieved it from his pocket and answered, "Yes, are you down?"

Drew's voice was heavy on the other end: "I'm sorry, boss, but I lost Ms. Graham. I...I can't find her anywhere."

Sean's brows furrowed as he spoke in a stern tone, "What do you mean you lost her? I gave you simple instructions, Drew, and here you are; you couldn't handle her."

"Boss, we were on our way to your place until Ms. Graham told me she was thirsty and I should get her water, but by the time I returned, she was gone with no traces," Drew explained, trying to catch his breath.

"You better go look for her if you know what's best for you," Sean said coldly before hanging up.

As Sean rushed to his car, he tried Andrea's number, but it was unreachable. He then called Jace. "Come on, pick up," he chanted, watching his phone ring.

"Hey, is Andrea there with you?" Sean asked, and immediately the call got connected.

"No. What did you do to my sister?" Jace demanded angrily. Sean knew that Andrea's disappearance had Jace concerned, and he wouldn't have called him if Andrea was picking up his calls.

"Hey, you little rascal, lower your tone!" Sean warned him sternly.

"Or else what? You must look for my sister and bring her back safely," Jace actively replied.

"Or else you will be returning my sports car. Did you think I didn't know you took it and got it scratched?" Sean said, his tone laced with annoyance.

Jace coughed awkwardly; he had only taken Sean's sports car to impress Jasmine Beth, his crush. "I'm sorry I raised my voice at you, brother-in-law. Once my sister calls, I will inform you, okay? Please take care of Andrea and be patient with her," he said, trying to calm the situation.

Sean felt great that Jace had acknowledged him as his brother-in-law, but he couldn't help but wonder what had gotten into Jace at the last moment. Nevertheless, he felt relieved that Jace had promised to help find Andrea.

As Sean drove, he couldn't help but feel uneasy. He didn't know where Andrea might be, but he was determined to find her. "Andrea, where are you now? I hope you will stay strong for me until I find you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Meanwhile, Andrea sat in the car next to Jacob, staring out the window as they drove. She felt a warm touch on her thigh, and she turned to face Jacob, who was sitting beside her. Andrea knew that Jacob could feel her gaze, but for some reason, he didn't look at her. She lowered her gaze to his hand on hers and felt relaxed.

Andrea didn't know where Jacob was taking her, and her curiosity got the best of her. She cleared her throat slightly, gaining his attention. "Where are we going?"

"To my house," Jacob replied almost immediately, like he knew what she was going to say.

"Your house?" Andrea repeated, her body stiffening a bit at this.

Jacob chuckled softly, noticing her reaction. Andrea's cheeks were a little pink, making her look extremely cute at the moment.

The women in the entertainment industry that he interacts with are often perceived as cheap, as they frequently throw themselves at him and even offer their bodies in exchange for lead roles.

He would be lying if he claimed that he had not engaged in intimate acts with several of them in the past, although such encounters were not conditional upon any promises or guarantees of lead roles.

When rumors about this began to spread among his circles in the business domain, he immediately quit in fear that it might sabotage his career and the reputation he had built single-handedly for his industry. People like Sean Wilson might use it to their advantage during his lowest moments.

"Relax. I mean my parents' house. You remember you promised to meet my mom?"

"But I'm not prepared yet," Andrea mumbled while glancing down at her outfit. Even though she was not in the right state of mind, she knew she had already given him her word.

Jacob chuckles. "You don't have to get her any gifts; trust me, she has everything, but it's fine if you don't want to meet her now; I won't force you."

The air was met with awkward silience until Andrea spoke up, saying, "It's fine. I would love to meet her today.

She closed her eyes for a while, digesting the overwhelming realization that for 24 years, she had been living in lies. The people she had thought to be her parents for her entire life were not related to her by any chance. She felt her chest tighten at the thought of it, and unknowingly, she drifted off to sleep.

Jacob turned and cast a glance at her, only to find her with her eyes shut, her head gently slumping on his arm, and her breathing turning even.

He had a bewildered look at first, but gradually his expression softened. From a closer view, her features looked so stunning that he couldn't help but stare at her.

Jacob smiled and tried to move her head to the other side, but she slipped further into his embrace. The fresh scent emanating from her was soothing and intoxicating at the same time.

"Why aren't you mine?” He thought this to himself inwardly. He attempted to remove the strands of her hair from her face, and at that moment, her lashes quivered, making his hand freeze in midair.

"We are here.” Jacob tapped her by the shoulder instead, and Andrea slowly opened her eyes, only to realize she had been sleeping on his arm all along.

Discerning that what she was doing wasn't right, she jolted upright from his embrace and straightened up. "I'm sorry,” she whispered softly.

"You don't have to be. Shall we go in now?” Only then did it hit Andrea that they had arrived at the Jones residence.

Andrea couldn't help but feel nervous. She knew that meeting Jacob's mother for the first time wasn't a big deal, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.

Getting out of the car, Andrea stared at the opulent mansion that stood majestically in front of her in awe. The building was painted a pristine cream color with black gabled roofs. As she walked up the large staircase, the chandeliers sparkled above her head. She couldn't help but feel a sense of luxury that surrounded her.

The interior of the mansion was just as impressive as the exterior. The walls were adorned with intricate paintings, and the floors were made of polished marble. Every place she walked past in the house was screaming elegance.

Finally, Jacob ushered her into the grand living room, complete with plush furniture and fancy chandeliers hanging on the coffered ceiling that embellished the place. The maids moved about doing their business silently, and immediately they noticed their presence. They all bowed slightly in the form of a greeting. Jacob nodded at them and summoned one of the maids: "Inform my mom that there's a special guest downstairs."

"She will be here any moment from now," Jacob said, looking at Andrea with a smile.

"Look who we have here. He finally remembers his mother," Mrs. Jones said happily as she walked over to them and gave Jacob a hug.

Mrs. Jones, who is in her late forties, has stunning emerald green eyes and soft, chestnut hair that stops just above her shoulders. She caught Andrea's attention in a multicolored floral dress that highlighted her fair complexion. Even Andrea couldn't help but feel intimidated by her beauty.

Andrea's smile slowly faded away, and a faint gasp escaped her lips as recognition finally dawned on her: "Her? The lady I met at the boutique is Jacob's mom."She thought to herself inwardly.
