Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Chapter 47: I'll be expecting you tomorrow
Andrea rubbed her buttocks with a look of grievance on her face as she made her way into the kitchen while making grumbling sounds.
An hour or so later, Sean who was reading a magazine on the couch, totally lost all his patience as he heard his stomach making rumbling sounds. He got up and strided to the kitchen with large steps to check what she was up to. He arrived at the door frame and found her making a call with a visible smile on her face.
Sean was seething with anger as he glared at him from his vantage point. He was completely famished and had been waiting for her to set the table, but she was busy making a call.
He thought she would notice his presence, but she took him by surprise when she didn't acknowledge his appearance in the kitchen.
Sean made his way over to her and snatched her cellphone. He placed it on his ear, and he heard a familiar voice that he could apparently recognize even in his sleep.
" Andrea is busy. Can you stop distracting her while she finishes her work?”
Jacob snorted, ”So the rumours are true that you are in Australia? What are you doing with Andrea at this time?”
Sean chuckled codly " How is that your concern? ’' immediately he said that he hung up.
Andrea gnashed her teeth and furrowed her brows, fighting to control the rage blazing within her. She snatched her phone from him roughly. From one glance, it was evident that she was angry with him, but for some reason he found her facial expression cute.
He cleared his throat slightly, trying to get her attention, but Andrea totally ignored his presence.
Sean turned her around " Are you mad at me?" he found himself asking.
" What does my face say?" she replied with a question as she turned her back on him, proceeding to cut the onions.
For the very first time, Sean wasn't in the mood to annoy her; for some reason, he felt jealous, thinking it was because of Jacob that she had to give him so much attitude.
Andrea only turned around when she heard his footsteps further and further away. " Is he a lunatic or what? Just because I am his mistress, he thinks he can do whatever he likes, and I will just stare at him like a plank of wood or what? She couldn't help but mumble.
Minutes passed by, and Andrea finally emerged from the kitchen with the dish she had prepared for him. She placed it on the dining table before going to inform him in the living room.
"Dinner is ready. I will be taking my leave now if you are fine with it," she said as she dapped the sweat on her forehead.
Sean glanced at his wristwatch and noticed it was past 8 already " I'm afraid you can't leave now. I want you to accompany me while I eat."
Andrea pressed her lips together in annoyance. She swallowed the awful words that almost came out of her mouth.
" Am I his slave or mistress? I think it's time Mr. Wilson comes clean to me with his intentions,” she thought as she took off the apron.
She trailed behind him till they both stood in front of the dining table. Sean took a seat and gestured for her to dish out his food.
She took the cover off, and Sean noticed she had only prepared pasta and barbecued snags with vegetables.
He glanced at the meals on the table with eminent enthusiasm. He found it quite new, as he apparently recalled what his dinner looked like back at his parents' place. Usually there would be a table filled with varieties of food that will be left untouched at the end of the day. This will be the first time in his life he has eaten only one meal, and for some reason he liked it.
A sigh escaped from Andrea's lips. She dished out his food for him and squeezed a smile. ”Can I leave now?” she said more in a pleading tone.
”Sit," he said in a domineering manner, making Andrea frown.
Regardless, she sat down, and Sean caught her by surprise. He placed a plate in front of her and dished out the food for her.
”You must be hungry. Just take this as a little gift from me," he said nonchalantly, and a scoff left her lips.
”What did you just do? '' Sean raised his head from the table, his gaze fixed on her face.
Andrea paused and shook her head with an innocent expression on her face ” I didn't do anything."
"Just look at him. He said it's a gift, like he was the one who prepared it in the first place," she thought to herself.
Sean grabbed his fork and dug in. He chewed for a while, trying to savour the taste of the food. 0"Not bad,” he muttered.
Andrea sneered ”Not bad? Why don't you prepare it yourself? What a grumpy man!” she said inwardly.
She noticed he didn't touch the barbecued snags throughout. A smirk crept across her lips. She picked out the barbecued snags from her bowl and put them inside his. ”Here, have some; you can't let my hard work go to waste, right?”
Sean stopped eating and stared at his bowl filled with snags. He slowly used his fork and picked it up. He took a bite and chewed on it for a while before he swallowed.
She gave him a smile ”How does it taste?”
”It's okay,” he said casually as he continued to eat the snags.
Andrea felt like strangling him. ”Just okay?" she thought.
After dinner, she washed the dishes before preparing to take her leave. On her way out, Sean suddenly called out to her, ”Andrea!"
She turned around and wondered what he had to say to her after draining all her energy in the kitchen.
” I'll be expecting you tomorrow,” Before she could find the right words to use he suddenly pulled her in for a hug.
Andrea was stunned. She tried to resist, but immediately his scent engulfed her totally. She felt a sense of security that she had never felt in her life, even back when she was still with Philip. She noticed her body weakening in his warm embrace, and she found herself placing her head on his chest.
Not until Sean pushed her away did she let go of him. " Hey! What were you trying to do?”
”Nothing,” she blushed shyly as she made her way out of his place.
Sean smiled as he watched her retracting figure. Only after she went into the apartment did he return to his place.
.........
Immediately after Andrea went in, she noticed the lights in the living room were already turned off. She felt her nerves relax, knowing they might ask her a lot of questions that she wouldn't be able to answer. She brought out her phone and was about to turn on her flashlight when suddenly a voice startled her from behind.
”You are finally back! Jasmine told me you had something to discuss with Mr. Wilson. Did it go well?” Tessa said as she switched on the lights.
Andrea held her chest as she heaved a sigh of relief. ”Mr. Wilson was feeling sick, and you know he has no relatives here. You remember when you told me to be nice to him, right? I would have been back a while ago, but I was busy making soup for him to drive away his cold," she tittered.
”That's so thoughtful of you. Goodnight, then," Tessa smiled.
The following morning, the room was in total disrepair, as Andrea had turned the room upside down while trying to look for something.
Elena came in and found her in a mess. ”What are you looking for?” She couldn't help but ask.
”I was looking for my black dress that has white stripes over it. Have you perhaps seen it?” She asked.
Elena coughed awkwardly ”I was the one who took it. I wore it a few days back,”
”Forget it!” Andrea sighed loudly as she began to fix the mess she had created in the room.
Elena assisted her to clear up ”Andrea,I heard you went to see Mr. Wilson last night. Is that true? She asked.
Andrea nodded ” He was sick last night; I only went there to check up on him and ended up making soup for him," she lied.
Her phone beeped, and she noticed she received a message notification from Mr. Wilson, which she instantly tapped on.
”Come over to my place immediately if you see this message,”A deep frown crept on her face as she read the message.
” Elena, I should go check up on Mr. Wilson," she said as she got up.
”You haven't eaten breakfast yet. Why don't you take some for him too?" Elena suggested.
Andrea nodded with a smile before proceeding downstairs.
********
Drew opened the door, and Andrea was startled for a moment. " Hi. Is Mr. Wilson in?” She asked with a polite smile after recognizing Drew as Sean's assistant.
”He's in,” Drew said, maintaining a poker face as he made way for her to come into the house.
Andrea noticed his indifferent attitude toward her. As far as she could recall, they had never engaged in a conversation before, and everything took her by surprise.
” I see, Mr. Wilson hired a grumpy assistant like himself," she thought inwardly.
Drew guided her to Sean's room; he was about to turn to leave when he noticed she had been holding a food flask all along.
”What is this?” He asked with a look of suspicion.
Andrea stared at him for a while, trying to read his thoughts ” Is for Mr. Wilson. Any problem?"
” I don't think this is needed before he ends up eating another food poisoning,”
”From you," he added in a low tone, which Andrea very much heard; after all, she had a keen hearing.
Andrea smirked as her gaze turned chilly. ” That shouldn't be your problem. It will be Mr. Wilson's decision whether he will eat it or throw it away,” she said before going into the room.
Drew was dumbfounded by the turn of events as he stared at the door for a while before walking away.
" Hey! Can't you knock? What if I was lying on the bed naked? Pervert! " Sean said it in a husky voice.
Andrea's cheeks blushed red with embarrassment as she realised she didn't knock before coming in. It was an impulsive action on her part after she had a little dispute with his rude assistant.
She moved closer to him and realised his face was looking completely pale, and there were shadows underneath his eyes.
”Are you okay, Mr. Wilson?” She asked frantically.
”I'm fine now. I'm just having allergies." A small smile appeared on his lips as he noticed she looked quite worried.
She couldn't help but question him: What are you allergic to? Did you call the doctor already? I will call Elena to come check up on you." She got up and was about to leave, and Sean quickly got hold of her hand.
He chuckled softly. She was panicking just like a little kid. He wondered where she found the guts to become a mother. ”Just stay here with me, and I will be fine."
"Are you sure?” She asked as she looked at him with doubt.
"Yes. I just need to get some rest, and I will be fine again. I should have informed you last night that I was allergic to snags."
Andrea couldn't help but recall how she had filled his plate with plenty of them, which he ate. ”Oh, that was the reason why you didn't have any, and then I forced you to have it. Why did you eat it if you knew you would fall ill?" she said with pouting lips.
” Because you specially gave them to me, and I couldn't turn you down," he said unceremoniously, and Andrea blushed.
” Just shut up and get some rest,” She adjusted the duvet for him and prepared to leave.
” Andrea, before you leave, I would like to discuss something important with you,”
She noticed the look on his face had turned solemn. ” What is it?” She asked, and without keeping her waiting anymore, he suddenly said
” I want you to come with me to America for good,”
