Chapter 32: dirty lining you say?

Elena stood up to go check but Jacob Jones stopped her immediately ” Don't worry, I will go check,” he said nonchalantly.

He sauntered over to the door and pulled it open only to see a bunch of people standing at the door with grave expressions on their faces.

” Who are you? ” he asked as he stared at them.

” Lachlan, are you sure this is the right address? Rosette demanded angrily and Lachlan checked the sign on the door.

” Yes of course, this is number 27,” he said matter of fact.

Lachlan turned back to Jacob Jones” young man I'm the one who is supposed to ask that question.. I'm here to see my daughter Andrea,”

He widened his eyes in surprise” Oh! Are you Andrea's family? Sure come in,” he flashed a polite smile.

Naomi's cheeks turned rosy as she stared at his face ” Mr Jones it's my honour meeting you. I'm a big fan of JJ entertainment,” she said excitedly, neglecting the issues at hand.

Lachlan who had walked past them couldn't help but turn around ” Wait, he is the owner of JJ entertainment? ” He felt his ears weren't functioning properly.

Jacob nodded with a small smile ” Wow I didn't Know I am this popular in New South Wales, ”

” No wonder he looked quite familiar. This Andrea of a child is a real treasure chest. I can't imagine how much fortune she can bring to me once I'm able to control her," he thought shamelessly.

Lachlan suddenly let out a chuckle ” Wow! This is amazing! I didn't know my Andrea is friends with Mr Jones here,”

” Oh! When I heard it was her birthday, I couldn't resist flying to Australia to see her. I'm sure she will be happy to see you all,” Jacob Jones said.

Lisa snorted inwardly and moved nearer to Rosette. ” I guess he hasn't heard the story of Andrea and she also didn't tell him the truth,” she whispered softly.

Lachlan itched his hair embarrassingly as he noticed the way Jacob Jones was looking at their empty hands. He wasn't aware that today was Andrea's birthday and to sum it up he didn't even have a gift he could offer to her.

” Who is it at the door? Mr Jones you have been gone for a while now is everything okay over there? ” Elena screamed from the dining room.

” Yes everything is fine,” Jacob said as he walked into the dinning room with Graham's family behind him.

A deep line appeared on Andrea's forehead as she abruptly got up from her seat. ” What do you want? she demanded icily.

Jacob's jaw almost dropped as he was taken aback a while ago. This would be his first time seeing this other side of her.

Lachlan let out a loud sigh” Dear, just listen to me first. Can we speak privately?”

Andrea sneered ” Speak privately? As what? Family? ” she asked in a sarcastic manner.

Realisation dawned on Jacob Jones as he finally figured out the situation ” No wonder they were not holding any gifts with them,” he said inwardly.

” Andrea please let's not wash our dirty lining here. Let's talk privately as a family that we are, ” Lachlan said in a pitiful tone.

Andrea chuckled codly ” dirty lining you say? I don't have any skeletons in my cupboard. I guess you must be referring to yourself. Anyways if you can't speak up here then kindly use the door,” she crossed her arm over her chest.

” Oh really? Why don't you explain how you got pregnant? You told me you don't know who the father of your babies are. No one threw you out of the Graham's mansion you moved out on your own still I came to you and told you to move back in but what did you do? You told me you were happy this way. Andrea, I have tried my best to be a good father to you. What do you want me to do,” he faked his crocodile tears.

Jacob Jones' expression hardened a little,he felt lost and couldn't add up all the information he had heard throughout the conversation.

Andrea chuckled ” you told me to come back so I can be your slave right? Lachlan Graham, I have really had enough of you. You are trying to paint me black in front of my friends too bad they know the kind of person I am. Should we start pouring our hearts out? Then I will begin ”

” First of all you abandoned my mother when she was pregnant with me and after I was given birth. You refused to accept the both of us and then my mother abandoned me because she thinks I'm inauspicious. You never came back for me until I was 22 years old, I had thought I can finally feel the love of a dad instead I was called the illegitimate daughter but you never said anything you were happy and satisfied everyone called me that all because I refused to let you take advantage of me,” she paused as she felt her voice trembling.

Her gaze went back to Lisa. She pointed at her and let out a bitter laugh ” Your daughter here, she made me trust and believed her that she really accepted me into the family only for I..I found out a night to my wedding that she was pregnant with my fiance's child,” she began to whimper.

” If I wasn't miserable I wouldn't have gotten drunk to the point that I was fucking taken advantage of and you dare say you tried your best as a father. You and your family ruined my life. Just get out of here,” she yelled furiously.

” Geez! Please calm down Andrea, you are pregnant,” Elena reminded her as she stroked her hair gently.

Elena's expression closed up” You heard what Andrea said, you all should get the hell out of here,” she said in an icy tone.

Immediately after the Graham's left, Andrea told everyone she was going upstairs for a nap.

” Andrea, are you sure you will be fine? ” Elena asked in a worried tone.

” Yes I will be fine. Goodnight,” she said in a dejected tone as she used the stairs.

” Sorry about that Mr Jones. Let me walk you out. Ryan I will be back in a jiffy,” she said and he nodded.

” I think I owe Andrea an apology. If I didn't let those despicable people in she wouldn't have lost her temper like that,” Jacob Jones said and Elena could clearly grasp the remorse from his voice.

” It's not your fault Mr Jones. You weren't aware that she isn't on good terms with her family. I'm certain Andrea doesn't blame you for all this,” Elena said as they walked out of the building.

” Okay it's pretty cold out here, you should go back in. I will come check up on Andrea tomorrow,” Jacob Jones said nonchalantly and Elena nodded as she waved at him.

SHIMMERS COMPANY, AMERICA

It was just 12 pm in America and Sean had been trying to get in contact with his spy.

” Boss it's time for the meeting, everyone is waiting for you,” Assistant Drew kindly reminded him.

” you better shut that mouth of yours can't you see I'm trying to do something here or rather still why don't you host the meeting you wind bag,” Sean spat out angrily.

His phone began to ring and he abruptly picked up ” Yes tell me,” he said to the other end of the line and his gaze went back to Drew signalling him to get out of the office.

His expression turned dark ” What? Jacob Jones was at her place tonight? The Graham's family too? ”

”Don't wait for me to ask. Tell me quickly,”

” Sir, I don't know what happened but all I can say is that the Graham's didn't even spend up to five minutes at Ms. Andrea's,” a man reported at the other end of the line.

” You are such a waste of resources next time don't let me call you twice before picking my call and listen you must find out what Mr Jones and the Graham's were doing there tonight,” he said furiously.

” I'm sorry sir, it's very late here in Australia and I was having my nap,”

Sean snorted ” You must be crazy, do you think I hired you to take a nap? A dog would be more reliable than you are. Don't ever dare repeat this foolish mistake,” he said before hanging up.

” What does Jacob Jones want from Andrea?” he said in a very icy voice as his expression turned grim.
