Chapter 127: Chapter 127

The big day finally arrived, and everyone showed up on time. Sean and Andrea did a fantastic job organizing a perfect wedding. Pearl and Ruby wore adorable pink tea-length dresses with spaghetti straps, and their hair was styled in cute buns.

Tessa walked Jasmine down the aisle and handed her over to Jace after scolding him countless times. His bride was looking her best today, beautiful like every day, but on today's occasion, there was this special glow on her face.

"I've always dreamed of this day when you'll start your own family," Tessa said, "but I never saw myself walking you down the aisle. Go in there and make the best memories out of it. I'm sure your father is proud and smiling from up there."

Jasmine teared up and whispered, "Mom, thank you so much for everything. You're the best," as she hugged Tessa tightly.

Jace cleared his throat, and only then did Jasmine recall the priest and everyone waiting. She let go of her mother and faced her groom.

"Jasmine, ever since that night I set my eyes on you, I knew you were the one for me," Jace said. "I remembered searching for you at the hospital, even though you told me never to show myself again." The crowd burst into laughter.

"I guess I'm the real definition of resilience," Jace continued. "That was the only way I was able to capture your heart and take you to the altar. I'm so ready to embark on this journey with you and have a family with you. Thank you for loving me, princess."

Jasmine smiled mischievously and replied, "You are such a jerk, even now and then. I guess I'm the real definition of patience because sometimes deep down I feel like torturing you to death for making me fall head over heels for you." The crowd laughed again.

"I feel so special to become the wife of such a unique and incredible person like you," Jasmine said. "I can't wait to look back at this day and the coming ones when we grow old and gray together. I love you, Jace, now and forever."

The priest asked Jace Graham, "Jace Graham, do you take Jasmine Beth for your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

Jace nodded confidently.

The priest then asked Jasmine Beth, "Do you take Jace Graham for your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

Jasmine nodded with a smile.

The priest declared, "I now pronounce you man and wife."

Jace and Jasmine shared a kiss under the cheers of their guests as Pearl and Ruby poured them flowers. They went table to table to give a toast until Jace saw Lisa and her son Theodore. He gave her a small smile, despite her past actions as a bully towards Andrea.

"Congratulations, little brother." She smiled at him and stretched out her arm for a hug. Jace looked at her for a few seconds before giving her a hug. "Where is your husband?"

"Philip is very busy, and I didn't tell him on time, so he couldn't make it here today, but he told me to say his congratulations on his behalf."

"Valid." Jace nodded.

Jasmine could only say hi to her after all; she wasn't familiar with Lisa. They moved to the next table, which was Sean's, Andrea's, and the girls'.

"Sis, thank you for coming through for us, and I must say you did a great job planning this event."

"You're welcome," Andrea clinked glasses with theirs. Sean cleared his throat slightly, and they all looked at him. "So, are you just going to take all the credit for the work?"

Andrea burst out laughing; she had forgotten Sean enjoyed being praised for every little thing, so she played along: "I'm so silly! Of course, it's all Sean's hard work. You are so amazing, hubby. Babies, Daddy is amazing, right?"

"Daddy is the best!" Ruby said in her feathery voice.

"I love Daddy!" Pearl was added cutely.

"Daddy loves his angels too. Come give Daddy a kiss."

Ruby and Pearl kissed him on the lips and did the same to Andrea. "We love Mommy too."

"Awwww, that's so sweet, babies. I love you too."

"Andrea is right; thank you so much, Mr. Wilson—it wouldn't have been possible without your help around. We are extremely  grateful." Jasmine said it sincerely. She looked at Jace, hoping he would say something positive, but instead, he looked away.

"Just let him be ignorant—a kid will always be a kid," Sean said casually, and he got up from his seat with his girls in his arms.

Jace opened his mouth to say something, but Sean beat him to it: "You better be watchful of what you say, or else I'll tell your sister that you know about Elena's stay in New York from day one," he whispered softly.

The word Jace wanted to say to him immediately got stuck in his throat, and he had no choice but to swallow it. He could only watch him walk out from the table with his girls.

"What did he say? Are you guys keeping a secret from me?" Andrea demanded as she eyed Jace suspiciously.

"Of course not," Jace thought out loud. He was envious of Sean's relationship with his daughters, and he also hoped Jasmine would give him an adorable little princess.

...

As Jacob scanned the room from across the venue, his anxiety grew with each passing moment. Where was Elena? He had been told she was here, but he couldn't find her throughout the ceremony.

"Hey, did you see Elena?" Jacob asked Andrea, who nodded in response.

"She went out to make a call," Andrea said, "but she hasn't returned."

"All right, thank you," Jacob said quickly, rushing out to look for her. He found her talking to a guy while smiling and flipping her hair.

As he peeked at them, Jacob thought to himself, "Is she flirting with him?" The next thing he knew, the guy handed his phone to Elena. Jacob couldn't take it anymore, so he marched towards them and grabbed the phone from Elena's hand, returning it to the surprised-looking man who was being flirtatious.

"Hi, I'm Jacob Jones," he said, wrapping his arms around her waist possessively. "Elena's boyfriend."

"And you're taken," the man said, smiling. "I must say, you two look great together. It's nice meeting you, Elena."

After the guy left, Jacob scoffed loudly. "Even I don't get the opportunity to call you Lena, and he already did."

Elena shot him a stern look and unwound his arms from around her. "Dude, what's your problem? Why are you interfering in my affairs?" she asked, folding her arms across her chest.

"Of course I have the right to interfere," Jacob said. "Have you forgotten you're my girlfriend?"

Pretending to zip her lips shut with her fingers, Elena retorted, "Pretend girlfriend. Look, since your parents aren't here, I don't have to pretend to be in a relationship with you. Please don't ever do that again."

"He's not even your type. That dude looks like a nerd with his funny-looking glasses."

"Isn't that left for me to decide if he's to my taste or not?

As Elena ranted at him, Jacob held her captive with his gaze. His eyes burned with intensity as he devoured her beauty. Elena wore a pink cocktail dress with a cowl neckline and white T-strap heels.

"What are you staring at? Are you even listening?" Elena asked, her voice rising.

"Wow, you look stunning today," Jacob complimented as he surveyed her body.

Elena's cheeks flushed crimson. "Please stop staring so much; it makes me feel uncomfortable."

"Am I? I'm so sorry. This is the first time I've seen you with makeup on, so maybe that's why you look different to me." Jacob immediately tried to point out a reason for his actions.
