Chapter 121: Chapter 121

My turn, Elena, how did you and Jacob meet?" Andrea asked curiously as she leaned in, paying all her attention to Elena.

Elena laughed softly and replied with a calm demeanor, "Silly! I met him through you, or have you forgotten?"

Andrea smacked her forehead, realizing her mistake. "I'm so sorry. Let me rephrase my question. Where did you two meet again?"

"Have you forgotten the rules of the game? It's one question at a time," Elena said with a hint of playfulness.

"Well, it's all thanks to Andrea that I found my soulmate," Jacob said with a tender voice as he wrapped his arms around Elena's shoulder.

Elena immediately felt her knees go weak from his touch; her heart was pounding faster than usual. No one had come this close to her in forever, and everything seemed new to her.

Andrea folded her arms around her chest in defeat. "Let's move on."

Sean looked over at Jacob, confused about what to ask. Should he bring up past events or ask an irrelevant question? He pondered inside his head what to decide on. He glanced at his wife beside him, and she gave him an encouraging smile that melted his heart. She looked just like the true definition of an angel.

"How strong is your love for Elena?" Sean blurted out.

Jacob scoffed loudly and felt his blood boiling. After snatching his girlfriend from him when they were younger, he still had the guts to demand such from him: "It's none of your business! Or are you interested in this too?" he fired furiously before getting up and heading for the bathroom.

After using the restroom, he started to regret his actions and reflect on them. At this point, he was sure Elena probably hated him and thought of him as a jerk.

He sighed in frustration and washed his face before exiting the restroom. After what he had displayed out there, he felt too ashamed to face Elena.

Jacob took the elevator and stopped at the last floor, where the bar was located. He sat by the counter and quickly ordered a bottle of vodka.

Shots came after shots until Jacob couldn't keep count of how many glasses he had downed in the span of thirty minutes. His head began to throb heavily as his sight began to get blurry.

"Holy sh*t!" he cursed and decided to close his eyes for a bit. He fumbled for his phone in his pocket and brought it out; suddenly, someone snatched it from him, making his eyes snap open.

There she was standing right in front of him again, with a charming smile on her face. She clicked her tongue with a pitiful look in her eyes: "Tsk! Tsk! Just look at yourself, Jacob—are you being fair to yourself one bit?"

"You! What are you doing here? Haven't I warned you to stop following me?" Jacob yelled at her angrily and got up to his feet, yanking his phone from her hand. Luckily, there weren't many people in the bar; if not, she would have felt very embarrassed.

Megan was glad to have found him in a drunken and vulnerable state and couldn't wait to take advantage of him. She used it as an opportunity to blackmail him into getting what she wanted. If there was any mistake she deeply regretted, it was cheating on him back then, thinking Nelson was far better than Jacob; all she wanted now was to make Jacob accept her back into his life, either by hook or crook.

Megan bit her lower lip seductively as she placed her finger on his thin, pink lips. "Why do you get angry so easily? You really haven't changed a bit," she said, her voice dripping with a hint of condescension.

"You better erase that version of me from your head, because it expired a long time ago," Jacob retorted sternly, his eyes flashing with anger as he turned around to leave. Megan quickly hugged him from behind, her arms wrapping around his waist.

Meanwhile, after Jacob left, Andrea apologized to Sean and Elena for Jacob's behavior. The silence that followed was oppressive, and Elena's worry about Jacob's welfare grew.

She decided to go search for him, making sure he was okay. She surveyed each floor, her eyes scanning the crowds, until she finally spotted a bar on the last floor. She let out a sigh of relief, knowing he must be there.

She stepped out of the elevator and scanned the small crowd at the bar. Her eyes searched for Jacob, and she quickly pulled out her phone to ask the bartender if he'd been there tonight. "Excuse me, did he perhaps come here tonight?" she asked, showing him a picture of Jacob.

The bartender stared at her for a moment before nodding. "He went that way with a lady," he said, pointing in the left direction.

"Oh, thank you," Elena said, scrunching up her face in concern as she wondered who Jacob was with. She quickly took the path the bartender directed her to and was shocked to find a woman sexually touching him as he stood there doing nothing. Tears gathered in her eyes, and she rushed out of the place with tears rolling down her face, feeling humiliated.

After insulting her, he left and came here to make out with a lady. She gently wiped her face and took several deep breaths before returning to her seat with a small smile, as if nothing had happened.

"Did you find him?" Andrea asked, noticing Elena had returned alone.

"I couldn't find him. I think he'll be back soon," Elena said quietly.

A few minutes later, Jacob returned to the table, this time not sitting down. He glanced at Elena and cleared his throat. "Darling, we should leave," he said.

"You look drunk! Wait a minute—you left us here and went to the bar to drink? You're so unbelievable and irresponsible sometimes!" Andrea exclaimed.

"I'm not going to let you drive in this condition," Sean intervened. "Both of you are coming with us. Sean will drop you off at home."

"We won't be needing that," Jacob said dismissively. "I'll call my driver right now."

"It will take a lot of time for him to get here, and it's already late," Andrea fired back in a rigid tone.

As they headed out together, Megan stumbled into Sean and fell down. She pretended to be tipsy and badly hurt. "Are you okay?" Andrea rushed forward to help her.

Megan smiled sweetly at Sean as she accepted Andrea's help. Her gaze locked onto him throughout the exchange.

"It's nothing," Andrea replied cheerfully. She grabbed Sean's arm but noticed he wasn't moving; he was just glaring at Megan, who had clearly done this on purpose.

Sean knew it wasn't an accident and that Megan had come to this restaurant with intentions. "Oh, Sean, it's great to see you again!" Megan chuckled softly and extended her hand for a handshake.

"Baby, let's go." Sean wrapped his arm around Andrea's waist and led her out, letting Andrea's mind wander around.

"Who is she? She seems nice, and you seem cold towards her," Andrea demanded softly as they headed towards the car.

"I'll tell you when we get home," Sean said firmly, helping Andrea into the front passenger seat while Jacob and Elena were already waiting in the backseat.

On their drive home, Sean headed straight to Jacob's mansion and stopped in front of it soon after. Jacob got out while Elena remained inside the car, looking around uncertainly at Sean and Andrea's questioning looks.

"But this isn't where I live," Elena said hesitantly.

"Fortunately, this is where your boyfriend lives," Sean replied bluntly. "We dropped you off here because it's already late, and we both need to report to work tomorrow."

Elena almost had a mental breakdown at the thought of spending a night at Jacob's mansion—and what could possibly happen next? Will the Joneses get them married instantly if they find out?
