Chapter 118: Chapter 118

The rooftop was beautifully decorated for the Valentine's Day occasion. Sean guided her to their table, which was set with candles and adorned with rose petals in the middle. The whole floor was covered in rose petals, and Andrea adorned the view from up there. The heater kept the place warm due to the chilly breeze blowing.

"You like it?" Sean couldn't ignore the look in her eyes and the way she seemed invested. "Like? I love it! Thank you so much, hubby. It's really beautiful," Andrea said, looking at Sean tenderly while holding his hand.

"Can I have my phone now?" Andrea demanded in a pitiful voice.

Sean had no other choice than to hand it over to her, saying, "Just for a few minutes."

Andrea quickly browsed through what she had been doing earlier and realized she must have accidentally pressed the wrong button when Sean snatched her phone. She began to panic, noticing it was too late to cancel the invite because the invitee had already accepted.

She tapped on the profile and found the username "pretty peach" with no photos or any information about the person.

"What do I do now? Do I ignore this or find a way Jacob could go on this date? What if she's his soulmate? Which means mom won't bother me anymore" with those thoughts in mind, Andrea grabbed her phone and told Sean she wanted to use the restroom.

"Hey, are you busy at the moment?"

"Not really, why do you ask?" Jacob's grumpy voice sounded on the phone.

"I'm out here alone. I was wondering if you would like to drink with me tonight," Andrea said.

"Isn't today Valentine's Day or what do they call it? Shouldn't you be with your husband?" Jacob said in an irritated tone.

"He said he'll be working overtime today because there's a deadline to meet," Andrea made sure she was sounding like she was on the verge of crying.

"Is that why you're crying like a baby? That jerk! Stop crying and tell me where you are right now, and I'll come meet you," Jacob said.

A smirk displayed on her face before she went back to character. "Come down to the grill house, and I'll be waiting for you," she said before hanging up.

After hanging up, Andrea returned to their table, where the meals were already served, with a contented smile on her face. Even Sean didn't fail to notice the happy look on her face and knew she was up to something again.

....

Jasmine slumped onto the couch, her cheeks resting on her palm in boredom. They had been waiting for their nanny to arrive for over two hours, and yet she was nowhere to be seen. The worst part was that their reservation time had expired, leaving them with nowhere to go.

Just then, Jace received a text from Andrea, informing him that the nanny wouldn't be able to make it and they would have to spend the night out. He should watch the kids.

As Jace read the message, he didn't even notice Jasmine poking her head and reading the content of the message.

"Wow!" Jasmine exclaimed angrily, rising to her feet. "I can't believe I wasted my whole day waiting for a romantic dinner with you!"

Pearl and Ruby, who were watching Powerpuff Girls while munching on popcorn, averted their gaze from the TV. "Auntie, why are you shouting?"

"It's nothing important, babies," Jasmine said, grabbing her bag from the couch and heading out. "Your uncle will stay with you."

As she left, Jace rushed after her, catching up to her before she reached the door. "What's wrong with you?" he asked.

"What's wrong with me? Or what's wrong with us?" Jasmine retorted. "I waited all day just to have a romantic dinner with you, and you just bailed on me."

"I didn't do it intentionally," Jace said. "Or should I decline Andrea's request without a good reason? Don't forget that you wanted us to keep our relationship a secret, so what else do you want from me?"

Jasmine glared at him, her voice rising. " What I want from you? You're an immature prick!"

"Jasm, I'm sorry," Jace said. "That's not what I meant. It's late; let's just watch the kids together and I will make it up to you."

"No way," Jasmine said icily. "I don't want to babysit my sister's kids with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day, knowing we had plans."

Jace tried to persuade her to go back inside, saying it was late and not safe outside. But Jasmine was resolute. She ignored him and walked herself to the gate, Jace followed after her "Will you stop crying? Do you know how horrible it makes me feel?"

Just then, an incoming car approached Jasmine out of nowhere at a high speed. Jace reacted quickly and grabbed her arm, pulling her to his chest."Jasm!" he shouted as he wrapped his arms around her tightly.

" Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. She nodded her head still feeling shaken by what had happened earlier. They returned to the house, where they found Ruby and Pearl asleep on the couch snuggled up together.

"Let's take them upstairs,"

Once they put them to bed, Jasmine picked up a new set of pajamas from Andrea's closet before taking a quick shower in the guest bathroom.

Emerging from the bathroom, she found Jace shirtless on the bed, playing with his phone.

"What are you doing here?" Jasmine asked, startled with her hand clutching her chest.

Jace got up and walked towards her. "I was waiting for you," he said huskily.

As if he was an irresistible charm, Jasmine stood frozen, staring back at him as if it were their first time seeing each other.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and started planting wet kisses on her neck. She trembled as a low moaning sound escaped her throat.

"Should I stop?" he breathed huskily into her ear.

"Do you like it when I touch you?" he asked teasingly.

"Jace," she moaned loudly.

Jacob walked into the living room and met his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, all dressed up stunningly. "Mom, Dad, where are you heading in this fancy dress?" he asked, his brows arched curiously.

"I'm taking your mother on a date," Mr. Jones responded, grabbing his wife's hand and placing a kiss on top of it.

"Yes, son, just because you've decided to remain single doesn't mean others can't have their own love lives," Mrs. Jones chimed in with a smile on her face.

"Dad, I thought you were in support of my decision," Jacob lamented sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

Mrs. Jones noticed the car keys in his hand and couldn't help but ask, "Where are you heading? Don't tell me, are you finally going on a date?" A glimmer of hope shone in her eyes, hoping this dream of hers would come true and her son would finally settle down and have a family of his own.

"Yes" Jacob lied. He didn't want his parents to worry about Andrea's issues with her marriage. That jerk of a friend, Tyler, refused to hang out with him these days ever since he got into a relationship few months ago. He cursed inwardly at the thought of Tyler.

"I should get going," Jacob said, trying not to sound too disappointed. "You two should have fun and enjoy your evening."

Jacob drove towards the Grill House, where Andrea had told him to meet up with her. He then called her series of times but to no avail.

Just then, a waiter walked up to him with a courteous smile " You must be Mr. Jones, please come with me" he led him to a private room before taking his leave.

Jacob sensed that something was off and started wondering if it was a good idea to go in. " What If it's one of mom's or Andrea's trap?"

"Andrea come on," he muttered under his breath as he tried her number again.

As he stood outside the door, he had an internal conflict raging inside him. Something about going in felt right, but another part of him was screaming for caution.

"What's the worst that can happen?" he thought.

Upon opening the door, what he saw left him dumbfounded and he began to regret his decision...
